Project Overview
The 9/5 is Multiversal.
Welcome to Universe 9/5 (Working Title). An audio drama/fiction podcast that focuses on Val, a young woman who finds herself thrown out of her mundane routine of life and landed in an alternate universe in which she has swapped places with another version of herself. She now finds herself in peculiar antics with a lot of newfound questions. Alongside that, she now has newfound concerns about corruption within this world. And to top it off she still has to work a crummy minimum wage job!
Hello, I'm Dee Dixologii an Nineteen-year-old artist and budding writer from the UK. I am trying out a new form of artistic expression through audio dramas and I would love to have people along with me for the ride. You might recognise me from Instagram (With my amazing 28.4k Followers) for my artwork but I want to push myself to do something new!
The Rules:
1) All auditionees must be 18 years old or over.
2) Please comment your Discord within your audition as it is easier to contact you this way.
3) All characters speak with a British Accent, please try to emulate this best you can, we also ask all performers be able to work around a UK Timezone (however, you can audition from anywhere in the world!).
4) The scripts contain swearing and themes of violence, if that is something you're not comfortable with please do not audition.
5) Try to have clear audio and remember to have fun with it!

Val is always speaking outloud and is the first to comment on things. As well as being someone whom is analytical of others and often finds herself stuck in a repetitive loop of life.
Voice: Actor must be able to convey sarcasm and a variety of emotions. As well as the capacity to perform a believable scream. Aiming for a mid range voice for pitch.

Evan is a supportive person, often seen being the first to try his best to manage a situation. Usually their actions don't fix things but their effort speaks a lot about the care they have for others. Once worker besties with Val, now a helpful guide to her as she navigates this new world.
Voice: Open to interpretation, needs to be able to convey a variety of emotions. Must also be able to make a believable scream.

Scout is a reserved person, often keeping to himself. Only seen opening up to those close to him. He has a fascination with the local historical weapons museum and is often seen hyperfixating on the history of weapon mechanics. He is one Val's Co-workers.
Voice: A more monotone leaning voice, which sounds young. Can be auditioned by any gender. Must be able to keep a consistent tone throughout.

(Disbelief) "How can you have not heard of the EXPLODER? Who's claim to fame is exploding things!"

Cynthia

Cynthia is a confident woman who aims to be one amongst the stars. She reached so high so it's confusing how she also ended up at a minimum wage job in the middle of a nowhere town. Often being viewed as the ringleader for the group she is the one that calls the common sense shots when needed.
Voice: Pitch is open to interpretation, however, needs the ability to show broad emotions and be able to scream.

The extra voices that will be used to fulfil varying levels of roles when needed. Any actor can audition for this as the more variety we have the better!
( TV Presenter) "I mean it’s insane what the Fruit Smasher can do Jen, I mean it’s made my fruit salad prep so much easier!"
( Radio News reporter) "Recent data from a local study report that this phenomenon has found itself to hold no bias in which communities it impacts."
