Welcome to Universe 24/7 a series about Winsel, a nineteen year old who seems to have his life together until one fateful day when he awakens in a dystopian, sci-fi world that has the entire population newly transported here. Power-struggles, violence and chaotic, stupid, hijinks ensue. With a cast of colourful and unusual characters, we learn that this world has many questions and not a lot of answers. This series is a visual novel parody and will be accompanied by audio and visual components. It is intended for Mature audiences.
Hello, I'm Dee Dixologii an Nineteen-year-old artist and budding writer from the UK. I'm already in production with Universe 9/5 with our first episode already out (linked above!) and I'm now working on my second project of Universe 24/7 a sister series to Universe 9/5.

The Rules:
1) All auditionees must be 18 years old or over.
2) Please comment your Discord within your audition as it is easier to contact you this way.
3) All characters speak with a British Accent, please try to emulate this best you can, we also ask all performers be able to work around a UK Timezone (however, you can audition from anywhere in the world!).
4) The scripts contain swearing and themes of violence, death and crime. It gets pretty dark at times. If that is something you're not comfortable with please do not audition.
5) Try to have clear audio and remember to have fun with it!
6) If you're an artist auditioning be sure to show us your best work and remember we DO NOT SUPPORT AI ART. If we find out AI was used you will be removed from the audition process.

Winsel is the protagonist of Universe 24/7, often being in a panicked or frantic state. He has the realistic, normal response to everything he encounters and is a pacifist at heart. But don't be fooled, Winsel is a clever guy when he wants to be.
His VA should be comfortable with screaming and swearing. Any vocal range is fine. Should have a strong narrative voice. Needs to be comfortable with romance and intimate moments (NOT NSFW) with other characters.

Cassius is an eccentric and chaotic person. Winsel's unwanted guide for the story. Cassius is a spin on the Manic Pixie Dream Boy troupe. He is slightly insane and violent in character.
His VA should be comfortable with screaming, violent topics. Any range is fine. Needs to be comfortable with romance and having intimate moments (not NSFW) with other characters.

Zaida is a HUGE fan of true crime podcasts and has decided to use her knowledge from it to help her survive and adjust to this new world. She's a bubbly character with lots and lots of energy.
Zaida is a black woman, so we are only allowing black voice actors to audition for her! Her VA should be comfortable with screaming and should be able to exert energy in every line. She's very emotive and we'd love to see that in your audition!

Jaqueline is one of the side antagonists, having taken over a few warehouses she runs rampant with her power and flare. Often seen in sparkles and sequins, she has huge problems with people such as Cassius. She's intimidating but lacks observancy.
Her VA should be comfortable with swearing and more mature themes such as violence.

Tessa was an intern before coming here and is still an intern in this new world. She's constantly tired and you're never quite sure if she's shaking out of fear or too much caffeine. She appears for a couple episodes as help to Winsel and Cassius.
Her VA should be comfortable with screaming and swearing.

A wannabe biker who continues to be a wannabe biker in this world. Ryder is a bit of a pest to Winsel and Cassius, working under Jaqueline at times. This "biker" causes chaos and hates "vibe ruiners", which can only mean good things for our protagonists.
Their VA should be comfortable with swearing and screaming. Bonus points if you're willing to really bring this Bro-esque energy.

SPRITE ARTIST
Universe 24/7 mimics a visual novel style, which means we require sprites! We need people that are willing to mimic character designs and try to conform to a similar style (will be discussed once cast) so that we can truly bring emotions to these characters. This artist should be familiar with programs such as FireAlpaca, Clipstudio paint, Procreate or something or the latter. Working alongside Dee Dixologii herself, this artist will be required to help make character design sheets and background references for other artists to use. CUTSCENE ARTIST
A cutscene artist would be expected to generate pieces of art for cutscenes, in a 1920 x 1080 size. These can range from just one piece of art to animatics if the artist is comfortable. This artist should be familiar with programs such as FireAlpaca, Clipstudio paint, Procreate or something or the latter. To audition for this role please provide one or more of the following: A Portfolio, a Google drive, a link to your most active social media. SOUND EDITORS
Sound editors are required to help us put voice lines together and find sound effects to accompany scenes. They will be lead by our Lead sound Editor JennaLou. Please attach some of your work with your audition and tell us a bit about yourself. Be sure to mention your Discord, Email and how much time you could offer to this volunteer project.
A brief given by our Sound lead:
- you have access to multitrack audio editing software (currently our editors are using adobe audition, but as long as files can be exported to mp3 and/or wav using the software, it can be used)
- you have good insight on detailing stuff like balancing levels for both general and narrative purposes
- openness to feedback from other editors when making rough drafts
- you can identify moments for comedic and narrative timing
- you may be asked sometimes to record and/or source foley and sfx, so you understand issues around licensing and legalities of using other people’s work
