Underwater game looking for female UW sounds [NSFW][18+] (Recast)

Project Overview

Hello everybody! A friend of mine and I have been working for a little sandbox game and could use some voice clips to help make the game more lively! I dabble in music a little bit while my friend programs, but neither of us are particularly fit for voice acting in this game, so we could certainly use some assistance! The game is known as:

Apnea Club

The link to the game can be found here

Apnea Club is an underwater sandbox game with one objective to collect eggs in a large underwater environment, while also maintaining your own air supply and with the option to monitor the other divers. The game is currently in a very early development stage with a single known objective. In the future, there are plans to add more animations, actions, objectives, unlockables, customization options, etc. This game is marked as NSFW as it will include various Underwater fetish tropes. While most of these instances aren't hardcore or explicit, and are never directly forced onto the player, they are still given the option to delve into that territory if they choose to. The models featured in the game can currently be dressed in one piece or two piece bikini's, with the likelihood of new outfits being added in the future such as sneakers, boots, t-shirts, skirts (which will likely have underwear models underneath them), tank tops, shorts, etc. As such, the game will be listed as soft NSFW due to the soft tropes likely to appear. There is also an 18+ tag included, as the game is likely to feature an unlockable "nude" option in later updates as well as the possibility for hardcore underwater sexual acts to be possible to perform in the game in future updates.

We are looking for voice actors who can fill roles for various basic underwater noises. Below is a list of various sorts of sounds we are looking for:

Drowning noises - The drowning process is planned to be decently complex in the game, and as such, we are looking for various voice clips for the different stages in the process. Below you can find the different descriptions for each part of the process:

50% air left, picture yourself getting the urge to go up for air at that moment, trying to hold back exhaling of air.

25% air. It's mostly the same sort of thing as above, but in a more panicked and worried state

Swimming while you've only got 25% air left or less, it'll be a similar clip to the one above, but shorter, that will loop at a slow rate while swimming

The actual drown. you've reached your limit. You're trying desperately to hold back exhaling, you do this twice in a row, and then you begin doing it in an exaggerated and intense sounding way while the person underwater flails around, this part is also sort of like choking, or being strangled and gasping for air, but still with your mouth closed and having the intense holding back of breath. On the persons last convulsion, a higher pitched, intense holdback of breath is heard, before a low pitched, exhale that still sounds like choking a bit, sort of like gurgling/gargling, but lower pitched and slow, and only one big one rather than a myriad of smaller ones, if that makes sense, like it was your final gurgle/exhale before you drowned. You are not explicitly required to follow the description we have given for this specific clip. This is an idea of what we would imagine it to be like, but if you feel you could express it in a better way, feel free to in your recording.

Coming up for air/taking a breath
- These are relatively straight forward. We will need voice clips for:

The initial inhale of breath before diving into the water

Resurfacing and catching your breath, this is done relatively calmly

Resurfacing with almost no air left, barely making it to the surface in time. This is when you are gasping for air and coughing and such, in a panicked state, before slowly transitioning to more calm breath catching once you regain your composure (this is a seperate clip from the one above)

Happy underwater noises - While you are underwater, you can do various safe and enjoyable things, such as saying hello and giggling. These can be left up to the actor as to what they'd like to say, but those aforementioned gestures are a good baseline.

Underwater Struggling - You are able to grab other divers in this game and act as a lifeguard. But some players may choose to be mean and grab them while dragging them farther underwater. During this process, various struggling sounds would be present, like trying to break free and grunting and such.

If we require any other voice clips we will let you know.

While recording with an underwater filter of your own is preferable, it is by no means required, as I can easily create one

If you are interested, please include an audition including a basic voice clip for each of the scenario's listed above (the bolded ones), this is sort of like a rough draft so we can see how well you can express the situation. We generally want the clips to be separated into individual files so it'll be easier to organize, but it isn't required. Just be sure to give us a way to know when a new voice scenario starts.

All voice actors will be credited in the game, under a nickname or their real name. Whichever they prefer.

Thank you for reading. We hope to see some interest

The swimmer is the person the player will be playing as within the game.  They share similarities with avatar's in other games, in that they will have many customization options present within the game (such as skin color, hair color and length, clothing, etc.).  In this sense, they are a rather generic woman due to there being no concrete, defined traits about them (since its all decided by the player). With this in mind, there is no specific personality they need to have (they don't need to sound particularly sassy, bubbly, stern, etc.).  Since there is no required objectives in the game and the player is free to do whatever they like within the games limitations, the personality that the player chooses to give the swimmer is decided by them. They can choose to have them be a happy, cheerful swimmer, a brave and strong lifeguard figure, a damsel in distress sort, even a murderer if they want to take a darker approach (a murderer in the sense that you have the option to drown npc's in the game if you really want to).

  • A sample of the actual drown. The swimmer has reached their limit. and is desperately to hold back exhaling. This is an exaggerated and intense sounding clip where the swimmer flails around, choking/being strangled and gasping for air. The mouth is being covered by their hand, signifying their desperation to keep their air. Eventually, the swimmer is forced to exhale their final bit of air. Since this exhale is a forced exhale, it would preferably need to sound like it was forced out against your will, rather than a sound the swimmer was audibly making on their own. You are not explicitly required to follow the description we have given for this specific clip. This is an idea of what we would imagine it to be like, but if you feel you could express it in a better way, feel free to in your recording.

  • A sample of some happy underwater noises. The swimmer may be enjoying their time in the water, perfectly comfortable. They may end up giggling in delight or waving and saying hi to a fellow swimmer. Generally, they are having a good time and are in no major danger at the moment that these clips would play.

  • A sample of resurfacing with 25% air left or less. In this scenario, the swimmer has been in pain and desperate for air. Once they finally resurface, they would pant and gasp heavily, like someone getting to breath for the first time after intensly struggling to keep their air. Starting sharp with a rushed, deep, desperate breath that transitions to smaller, more calm breaths once the swimmer has calmed down and had enough air to regain their composure. As if the swimmer really needed air and is now finally able to breath again.
