Under the Spotlight: The Voices of the Characters!
Project Overview
For this project, all I need is for people to act out the roles. Nothing more or less. As a writer, I want to adequately portray each character to the best of my abilities. And while I can say the lines myself, it doesn't hold nearly as much...power if it's only my voice.
We will be working with my fan fiction Under the Spotlight, an Undertale-based fan fiction that is part of the Gaster Industries AU, a half-AU of my creation. If you have any questions, I can be found at my DA and Tumblr, both RTNightmare.
What I expect is for the chosen voice actors to send me audio clips of the lines I need to see if they sound like they are intended. From there, if I find that any of them sound weird or out of context in any way, I will rewrite them, work with said voice actors until it sounds right, and then edit the work itself. I might end up creating an audiobook for this, too. But for now, it is all about getting the story right and making it believable.
IMPORTANT: For the time being, I'm only doing a few of the characters. I don't want to get overwhelmed, so this is just in case.
Additionally, since this IS a reader story, the name can be kept out and pet name can be used. That, or you can use any name you want, including yours or mine (Rachel). It is up to you.

NO BRONX ACCENT. If you read the dialogue, there is no accent. There is slang, but any accent can pull that off. I want something smooth and with as little accent as possible. Deep and sexy is great, but not too deep unless it is for emphasis or something similar.
This Sans is VERY sassy. Like, he trolls people for fun and to get a reaction. He trolls the reader, too, because he knows she enjoys it. And he's very sexy for a skeleton. So imagine a guy who acts like an obnoxious jerk, but is lovable, and knows it...so he can get away with it. Lots of snark, dry wit and humor, and a lot of goofy stuff that still comes out as attractive.
(frustration) “nate, get out. go do something productive. just leave us alone.”
(sass) “you trying to copy one of my signature moves? that’s playing a dangerous game. get your own thing.”
(being an @$$) “i don’t…pfff…i…snrk…don’t know what yer talking about.”
Reader can be anything, but I'd like her to have a clear voice so that she can BE anyone. So the less of an accent she has, the better. She is in her mid-twenties.
Not much is definite about the Reader except that her confidence will grow little by little after she meets Sans. She can also use magic, but her likes and dislikes are up in the air. As Sans' Soul Mate, she tolerates his teasing nature.
(nervous introduction) “Yes, ma’am. I’m ______. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Doctor Alphys.”
(sarcasm/sass) “Oh good, your intelligence goes further than I thought. That’s wonderful.”
(after Sans is an @$$) “Don’t you–HEY! Get your boney ass back here! Don’t tele…fuck!”
Alphys has gained a lot of confidence. But she still stutters and sputters a bit. For her voice, I feel like the Alphys from Fishy Love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWJUDYCU54Q is perfect.
(sputtering and shocked) “W-wait! You have seen her use magic? Sans, why didn’t you say anything?”
(getting more confidence) “Yes, it’s t-true. And trust me, if Sans wanted to hit Mister Fuller, he would have. Those two have a personal history and love picking on each other.”
(slight stutter) “I don’t mean to interrupt, b-but we have a schedule to keep.”
Nate is based off Naotsugu: http://log-horizon.wikia.com/wiki/Naotsugu in the English dub (Andrew Love, according to the Wiki), so however close you can get to that is best.
In a way, his personality and relationship to Sans is partially based off Mitsuhide: http://akagaminoshirayukihime.wikia.com/wiki/Mitsuhide_Rouen from Snow White with the Red Hair because Nate watches out for Sans like Mitsuhide watches out for Zen.
(strutting in) “Now there’s a story I wanna hear. C’mon, boss man. Spill!”
(sign of mercy) “Whoa, man! Chill! I didn’t know! This wouldn’t happen to be who that choker you are constantly messing with belongs to, would it?”
(smug) “No problem! I’ve done what I needed to do here. Later, boss man, Alph, Doc Lisa, madam! Don’t be too hard on the Skelepun! He means w–AHHHHHH! OKAY! I’M GOING!” (Sans threw a bone at him)
The villain. Think Princess Morbucks if she were an adult and wasn't filthy rich. But basically, what I have dubbed a Princess B****! Obnoxious, possibly nasally, clingy, annoying...and a huge brat and bully.
(whining) “I saw her do it! There is no reason to call him in! I saw it!”
(bullying Reader) “Now you listen, and you listen good. I don’t know what the fuck you told me future husband, but you better get you shit together and stay away from him. I saw him first and I call dibs on him, so fuck off and find some peasant like yourself. Are we clear?”
(screaming at Reader) “You stupid bitch! You ruin everything!”
Basically, the main villain's tool. He's pathetic, doesn't say much, and is just...around for plot reasons.

She is another villain of sorts. Not much is known about her currently except that she is the ex-wife of Ned Gier and Sandy's mother. She was brought up with money, so she is very proper.
“My word! Who do you think you are?”
She is a young black woman, with a lot of sass to boot. She's a sweetheart and very bright. Imagine everything you like about black women and go for it. She is the personification of my respect for minorities who have been mistreated in the past. She is meant to be a fun and amazing character. I won't accept anything demeaning.

Dina is based off my real life best friend. She is a sweet girl and I made her even more energetic than my IRL BFF, so you can go crazy. XD
(At Maria Stolz) “Oh, can it, old lady! This is a city! People are gonna be loud!”
(sass) “My bestie has a personal history with Sans.”
“Wow, kill joy! Well, see you later, ____! Have fun at work! Oh, right! That’s impossible!”
Lisa is very proper in her own way. She's a scientist, so she's very smart. This role is up in the air for what I'm looking for.
“What’s this you have been talking about regarding Sans Aster? And what do you mean, _____ has magic?”
“You don’t need to be worried that I’ll be angry or disappointed. If what Dina has said is true, then I might be able to help you in your goal to meet Sans Aster.”
“Volume, girls. What I mean is that if you are a mage, I would bring you in to work with me and other scientists, one of which being Doctor Alphys. If she thinks it’s necessary, she will ask Sans to have a personal look. He has visited us often to assist us in Soul Studies, since it is his company and he is a scientist. He has an ability no one else has; the ability to see Souls without extracting them from the body. He can see everything. It’s part of what makes him an interesting and intelligent individual. So, will you show me?”
Both roles can go to one person or two. It doesn't matter.
(Jenna) “Holy shit! You can do magic and you’ve never told us!” (Leah) “Wait, Jenna. I think that’s a joke?”
“Honestly, all you need to fix this is for him to remember you. If what you said is true, he might be interested. It was the cops that scared him off.”
“But even people who work for him agree he is laid back and easygoing. In interviews, his administration has said he treats everyone equally and makes sure that working for him is super fun for everyone. One intern reported that they used something like Hogwarts Houses to build teamwork and there are real prizes for working hard. And even if people mess up, he doesn’t treat anyone like shit like other employers would. It’s insanely awesome.”
General voices.
(Charlie/Gaster Ind Employee) “She’s Ned Gier’s ex-wife, Maria Stolz. The whole family is one big fucking mess. I pity anyone who has to work at that company.”
(police) “Miss, you are under arrest for stealing money and other possessions that are company property. We will be taking you down town for questioning. You have the right to remain silent.”
(police) “We are calling in someone who will help us find out if you are guilty or not. Would you like some water in the meantime?”
General voices.
(Abbey/spazzy new employee) “Sorry, I had too much coffee this morning.”
(Naomi/Admin) “Everyone is pretty laid back here. We are not going to bite your heads off if you mess up or something becomes too much.”
(after a nose bleed caused by Sans) “I’m fine!”
