Touhou Fan Animation: The Silence of the Maiden's Sorrow (updated roles)
Project Overview
I'm helping the director of a Touhou fan animation find three final voice actors for his project: Yukari, Kasen, and Eirin. If you're a fan of Touhou, then by all means, give the audition a try! If you don't have a clue of what Touhou is and just happened to stumble here... then by all means, give the audition a try!
The synopsis of the story is that Reimu turns tiny, like, a few inches tall kind of tiny, and now she and her friends have to figure out how to get her back to normal size (YOOO MINISH CAP REFERENCE-). But underneath an incident that seems more mellowed out than the UFO incident (and that's a low bar to limbo under), dark secrets lie underneath the surface....

Voice Actor
The elegant, perfect, and sometimes aloof head maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She helps solve incidents with the other typical heroines, but her first priorities will always fall beside her Mistress' whims.

(Stoic): “It’s lovely to see you at this hour, Miss Hakurei. The Mistress wants to meet you in the Library.”
(Stoic): “I simply strategize throughout the game, plan out the possibilities in my head, and simply go on from there.”
(Worried): “My Mistress, please forgive me for my transgressions against Yukari…”
Voice Actor
An ex-soldier and now doctor's assistant in Eientei, under the tutelage of Eirin Yagokoro. She's got that natural rabbit's anxiety about her, and dealing with a bunch of pranksters at work doesn't help her stress levels either.

(Angry slowly becoming Confused): “God! Of course she did that…Of course Tewi did that! Why Reisen, why listen to her at all! Or at least stand up to-What the?”
(Less Angry): “It’s probably a gambit to take over all of Gensokyo…or even the world, getting others to take out leaders one by one. If Reimu isn’t there, who could really stop them? The other sages would be outmatched by a combination of their Power, Hecatia & Junko wouldn’t want to be involved, The Lunarians don’t care what happens to the Earth and after that, there isn’t anyone who could beat their union.”
Voice Actor
If you know Touhou, then you know Yukari; the all-powerful, manipulative, and playful mastermind of Gensokyo that can go from teasing to serious in the blink of an eye. She's got a mature tone of voice to her (but don't call her old).

(Playful, turns into serious) "So you are the human who defeated my Ran? Sigh... Knowing that dangerous humans like you exist keeps me from sleeping soundly."
(Happy) “Well, you know the saying: ‘The Enemy of My Enemy is my friend!’”
Voice Actor
The legendary white hare of Inaba. She's lived for so long, she's developed an arrogant and playful nature with a haughty approach to those she sees as below herself.

(Snarky) “Because you’re tall enough to get things out of them, duh!”
(Faux concern, turns into teasing tone) “Hey Reisen, you look like you need to rest for today. Maybe I could take Reimu off your hands, hehe~”
Voice Actor
A buddhist monk who leads a temple of youkai disciples. A motherly figure who talks gracefully to everyone to push them down a better path, just as she strives towards the path of enlightenment.

(Content) “Oh it’s nothing. I’m just trying to do my best with all who are looking for faith, however, I can see it’s had a profound effect on you.”
(Gentle, but firm) “It’s probably about the current State of Gensokyo and, knowing Reimu, lecturing me on why Youkai don’t need to be protected. So, what did you want to talk to me about? Is it about my ideology? Because if it is, I’ll turn back right now.”
Voice Actor
The owner of a trinket shop. He's a dorky yet with a laid back approach to everyday affairs.

(Relaxed) “Nothing much, I got a paper talking about a new president or something, some figurines…lets see… Oh! There’s one of these Flatter TVs. Looks like people on the outside managed to take those bigger ones and squish them into this new shape…”
(Calm) “Nothing Aya, we’re just catching up.”
Voice Actor
The runaway princess of the moon, now living with rabbits on Earth. She's a bit of a spaced out airhead who takes her eternal life one step at a time. Everything's a casual moment in her eyes.

(Relaxed, in the middle of conversation) “...And then after I stole her guitar, Mokou finally noticed and came out to get all of her stuff back.”
(In Awe) “Wooooah, Reimu is tiny!”
Voice Actor
A bakeneko youkai. A snarky, bratty child who gets spoiled by her caretakers.

(Snarky) "Oh, if that’s the case, I’ll just tell Yukari that you went against our wishes!”
(Snarky) “Well, one of the rules is that a Yakumo can change the rules at any time of the game.”
(Ominous) “What’s wrong? The Shrine Maiden whose taken down gods is afraid of a little flame?"
Voice Actor
A young, haughty vampire princess who rules over the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Charismatic and well-versed in etiquette, Remilia can speak with a sweet and suave innocence that disguises a much more manipulative intent, waiting to twist someone towards what she wants.

(Giggle) “Well, Reimu, I guess you fell for the trap. Hook, Line and Sinker~”
“Compared to the multiple years where she STOLE from us day in, day out? Tisk tisk tisk... Sakuya, your argument doesn’t hold up under scrutiny."
“And that’s what you’ll do for the first week till Marisa sweeps you off your feet again, leading you to focus on her even more, quitting your job just to stay with her, Marisa finding someone new to fuck... leaving you behind and you ending up with becoming homeless with no one to care about you.”
Voice Actor
Kasen is one of the great sages and founders of Gensokyo, and also a mysterious hermit with a feisty protective streak for those she considers friends. She tends to butt heads with Yukari on what is best for Reimu, but is wise enough to put aside differences when working together towards the greater good of Gensokyo and its denizens. Even then, she has an unmoving set of morals and won't stand for the pain of others to reach salvation.
Kasen's tone of voice should balance between stern and gentle, like a teacher, depending on the situation.

(Chastise) "Reimu, I understand that you're not in the state to resolve incidents at the moment, but that doesn't mean you should slack on your shrine maiden duties. Here, I made you a smaller gohei for you to use. A healthy routine means consistency through and through!"
(Protective) "Do NOT feed the Raiju! If you're going to be like that, then why did I bother bringing you here?!"
(Serious) "Remember why I stand by those you consider wrong, Yukari; I am NOT on your side!"
Voice Actor
Eirin is known as the "Brain of the Moon" and is the head doctor of Eientei. She's highly intelligent, but because of that she tends to act condescending and belittling to others who aren't up to her speed. She's somewhat of a mentor to Reisen, similarly to Kasen with Reimu, however Eirin rarely shows anger and relies more on stern silence to stop an argument before it starts.
Outside of her interactions with her apprentices, Eirin is rather jolly when it comes to those who are on her level, such as with her princess Kaguya or the upper circle of Gensokyo's big shots (The Yakumos, Remilia, etc.).
