To Solve A Mystery | An Animated Voice Acted Film (GCMM/ Gacha Club)
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION:
Hi! I'm very happy that you clicked on this project even if you just want a glance at it! So, this casting call is for my upcoming Voice Acted Gacha Club Film, "To Solve A Mystery". Its genre will be Mystery and Drama and will be mainly animated on Kinemaster Premium and other editing apps.
STORY PLOT:
"Someone must've secretly stolen our valuables while the lights were out, and that said person is one of us."
14-year old Zach Watkins has been struggling to follow his biggest aspiration: To be a detective. No matter how hard he tries, the goal seems to be so far away....until now.
One day, Zach and a few of his friends were invited to stay at Harold's house for a day. That night, a blackout suddenly occurred and one of Zach's friends secretly stole the group's valuables, which were bought in the afternoon. No one in the group was able to realize that the culprit was someone between them...except for Zach. He knew something was wrong, and he was determined to not let the thief get away.
But little did he knew, that night will be the night where his aspiration, will be turned into a reality.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. You NEED to have good mic quality. (I'm fine with whatever microphones you have, just make sure it is crisp and clear!)
2. Record your lines no more than 2 times.
3. Discord! You must have it, as it is the only way for us to communicate.
4. You are to be 13+.
5. Try not to edit your voice as much as possible, aside from amplifying, compressing, and noise reduction.
6. You must be willing to commit to your character. (As the script has like over 50 pages man!)
7. I need to hear some strong emotions in your lines! After all, some of your lines will require you to cry and shout in anger.
8. Have fun with the project! :D
OTHER INFORMATION:
-- There are going to be some character roles not mentioned in the casting call for which I may ask some of you to also voice for once everyone is cast.
-- I will only reveal the culprit to the VAs who are cast, so no spoilers :)
-- Send your lines in either .wav or .mp3 format.
-- The project will be a short-term commitment. Once you are cast, you will be sent a link to the Discord server. You are given three weeks to complete and send your lines.
-- Please be respectful and mature. Even if you have a really amazing voice, your attitude will determine whether or not I have to recast.
-- Please, please, please be sure to send your lines before the deadline! It's frustrating when we video creators have to remind VAs to send their lines over and over! However, if you need me to extend the deadline, then by all means sure! I will be happy to assist you.
-- You can audition for multiple roles!
-- I will only start casting when the deadline for the casting call is finished. I want to give everyone an equal chance to audition!

Voice Actor
Zach is the main protagonist of the film. He always has an interest in becoming a detective, as his father was an expert. This awed him to be like him one day. However, his poor social skills made his classmates dislike him. And due to his low tolerance for making mistakes, Zach starts to question whether his goal is even considered achievable. Zach is mostly a confident, kind, and smart person, but is sulky when faced with obstacles.

Voice range: I prefer his voice range to be from medium-low to medium but I'm still open to all voices!
[embarrassed, surprised] U-uh, Sally! I didn't expect you to be here so early. I-I was just cosplaying, that's all!
[skeptical, thinking] This is strange. All the doors and windows are locked, so a burglar can't sneak into our house, especially since there were no signs of a break-in. If it is true, then it must mean...
[determined, shouting] (Zach decides to take control of the situation) Just because of a simple challenge, that we should give up?! If no one is going to step up and take charge, then how is arguing going to change anything? We are not going to let that culprit get away, are we?!

Sally is one of the supporting characters in the film. Sally has been on the soccer team for 2 years and is aiming to be the Captain of her team. She has a close relationship with her childhood friend, Zach Watkins, and supports his dream of being a detective. Who knows what will happen to them in the future? :) Sally is considerate, sincere, and bright, but also easily frightened when put in situations she is not prepared for.

Oliver is one of the supporting characters in the film. Oliver is always a playful guy and likes to play pranks on people for the sake of fun. He doesn't really care much about their reactions. He also has a keen interest in building and creating new things. Oliver is humorous, decisive, and observant, but is panic-stricken easily if found out about his "tricks".

[nervous, trying to stop Zach] H-huh? Can't we just try another way? I-I feel like checking our rooms is a bit too far.
[shocked, stuttering] Y-you're joking! How can you accuse me of something I just made?

Sabrina is one of the supporting characters in the film. Sabrina has always been the most fun and energetic person in the group. She takes every difficult situation and tries to ease it with enthusiasm. Sabrina is energetic, cheerful, chatty, and enthusiastic, but can be hot-tempered when put in a bad mood.

Cassandra is one of the supporting characters in the film. She is known as the nerdiest in the group as she doesn't slack when studying. She is also a drama queen, which makes her quite unlikable by most of her friends. Cassandra is hardworking, self-disciplined, but also melodramatic due to her watching too many K-dramas lol
Note: most of her lines will involve you shouting so good luck :)

Harold Marrow is one of the supporting characters in the film. Harold is the oldest in the group and is mostly a chill and introverted person and is the most liked by the group. He usually doesn't socialise with the group and instead does other productive things. Harold is likable, understanding, and patient.

Personality: Likeable, understanding, and patient.
Voice range: Any voice range is fine just make sure it sounds calm and quiet.

[reassured, hopeful] That's a good start. I wonder how much more we are going to find.

Young Zach is the younger version of Zach Watkins and one of the supporting characters in the film. Young Zach always admires his father for being a detective and is keen to be like him.
[pretending to be a police officer] Freeze! You're under arrest!
[asking] Dad, will I become a detective like you?
Voice Actor
Zach's father is, well, the father of Zach Watkins, and a minor character in the film. He cares deeply about his son and will check in on him to make sure he's alright. He does play a major role in the latter part of the film.
[reassuring, comforting] Don't say that. I'm sure you did what you could, even if it was for the worst. Even I messed up a bunch of times.
[worried, asking his son Zach] Son, are you alright? You seem to be crying.
[cheerful] Heh, of course, son! I'm sure that you are going to be like me one day.

Elizabeth is one of the classmates of Zach and one of the minor characters in the film. She has only one line, but it will really matter in Zach's character development later in the film.
[irritated, shouting] Zach! I've had enough of your nonsense. If you had stopped complaining, maybe we wouldn't be dealing with this problem in the first place! I'm better off with someone more peaceful!

3: "That's way cooler! I want to see you catch some bad guys in your job!"

[gossiping, whispering] 3: "No, I wouldn't even think about picking him. He always argues with other people. I think it's best to stay away from him."
