Project Overview
to a flame is a horror based podcast following Shawn west, a thirty six year old recovering alcoholic who finds himself in the midst of an apocalypse where the infected become mutated monsters that act out in violence and are only able to express their hatred and pain they hid during their life time. now shawn is trying to survive with a group of people. though he is struggling to keep a grasp of his sanity whilst his world is crumbling around him.

Shawn west is the main character and narrator of this series. he is a thirty six year old university teacher that is a recovering alcoholic. as a child Shawn suffered extensively at the hands of his abusive father and neglectful mother which led him to develop a drinking problem at the age of fifteen and has only started to recover from it a year before the start of the podcast. due to his upbringing Shawn struggles to open up emotionally and believes it is a mans job to keep his emotions hidden. slowly he is trying to get better and write the wrongs of his past, especially towards step son Eric who he has a strained relationship with due to his alcohol abuse. with the apocalypse he finds himself in, Shawn is struggling to adapt to this new world and finds himself looking for an escape.
Shawn as a character talks the most due to providing the ongoing narration for the series. in his narration he is more smooth in his performance than when has interacting with other characters. but in both versions he is well spoken, if not a bit gruff.

*narration* I had been sober for about a year when the outbreak started. at first it was a few news stories here and there about some virus in the papers, I don't remember what they were calling it at the time, it doesn't matter anyways.
*exhausted*there's nothing i want to do more than have a fucking drink and forget.
*horrified*w-what the hell was that? eric stay behind me.
Eric is the teenage stepson of protagonist Shawn west and is the youngest member of the main cast. he is a fourteen year old boy with a interest in photography, comics and hiking before the virus hit his home town. despite being so young Eric is extremely adaptable to his situation and quickly abandons his old life in order to survive, being the first person in the series to kill a infected individual.
Eric west as the emotional core of the series, being a sweet and socially awkward kid who has to do what he can to survive for as long as possible, he also pushes his step father to keep going and not give up on everything.

Carla Hernandez is a supporting character in "to a flame" she is a kind yet no nonsense older woman who moved from Venezuela to become a nurse in the united states. Carla has been working in the field for seventeen years and has been very dedicated to her job. working overtime for many hours practically giving her life away to the hospital that she worked at, despite being extremely underpaid and overworked.
Carla now runs her former work place after it was abandoned by most of her staff members during the initial outbreak, she chose to stay back alongside two other nurses and a surgeon who treated the patients that were left by their families. the hospital is now a safe haven for any survivors.

the co writer role involves finding someone who would be able to help produce scripts for the audio series, I'm looking for someone who can bring unique ideas to the table and help creatively work on the story at hand. I intend the current project to be a ten part series with a 20-30 minute run time per episode.
