Project Overview
Theater Geeks is a lighthearted, school-based drama that follows a group of students navigating the ups and downs of high school life, focusing on their passion for theater. While the main cast plays a significant role in the story, there is a vast world of secondary characters, each with their own quirky personalities that shape the dynamics of the school setting. This project is an opportunity to voice a variety of extra characters and background voices, like the drama club members, theater geeks, jocks, nerds, and everyday students who make the story come alive.
We’re looking for voice actors who are interested in bringing to life the vibrant world of these supporting characters and adding depth to the scenes. Whether you're voicing a background student at lunch, a member of the drama club, or an enthusiastic cheerleader cheering on the cast, your contribution will play an essential role in making the world of Theater Geeks feel rich and dynamic.
Roles Available:
Background Characters: Students in various school settings (cafeteria, hallways, classrooms, etc.).
Extra Theater Geeks/Club Members: Fellow students involved in drama club, artsy, nerdy, and creative roles.
Random Students: Individuals seen in passing during school activities, events, or assemblies.
Classmates: Peers who interact with the main characters in passing, often adding to the social environment or drama of the story.
Project Details:
All characters will be background/extra roles—the main focus is creating the atmosphere of a high school theater program and the student body as a whole.
You do not need to be a professional voice actor—just bring your energy and creativity to the roles!
This is a non-paid project with the opportunity for credits and recognition in the final project.
Lines will be minimal and often part of larger group interactions.
We welcome any and all voice types, as this project aims to create a diverse and fun atmosphere.

Leo is the leader of the popular crowd and one of Jason's longtime best friends. Known for his sharp wit and confidence, he commands attention and respect from his peers. Leo thrives on being at the top of the social hierarchy and isn’t afraid to use his influence to keep others in line, often resorting to subtle manipulation or outright mockery.
“Look, if you wanna ditch us for those drama nerds, fine. We’ll survive. Just don’t expect a standing ovation when you come crawling back.”
“Whatever. Go play dress-up if that’s what makes you happy. Some of us have real lives to live.”
“Drama club, huh? I’m sure you’ll win an Oscar... for biggest disappointment. Congrats, man.”
Maya Hargrove is a 16-year-old junior who thrives on being the center of attention. She's bubbly, a little overbearing, and doesn’t always pick up on social cues. Maya often inserts herself into situations where she’s not necessarily wanted, and while her intentions are usually harmless, her meddling can be frustrating
"Hey, Jason, I saved you a seat at lunch today! Lily can sit… somewhere else, right?"
"Jason! Did you finish the science homework? I was thinking we could compare answers! You’re so good at this stuff, you know?"
"Jason, come on! You can’t just ignore me all day. We’re desk buddies—partners for life!"
Ellie is a 15-year-old sophomore who juggles five clubs, straight As, and a packed schedule. She’s smart, ambitious, and always in a rush, which can make her seem a little impatient. Ellie is well-meaning but struggles to relate to people who aren’t as driven as she is.
"Drama club sounds... fun? But honestly, I’ve got debate practice and student council after this, so maybe next semester?"
"Can we move this along? I have, like, ten other things to do today."
"Hey, if you need help with your lines, I could totally tutor you. I’m great at public speaking."
Chloe is a 16-year-old junior who always seems to know everything about everyone. With her quick wit and love for drama (the social kind, not the club), Chloe often stirs the pot by spreading rumors or sharing unsolicited opinions. While not malicious, her tendency to overshare often puts her at odds with others.
"Me? Start that rumor? Oh, please. I only heard about it... and maybe told, like, one person."
"You know, if you’re aiming for Leo, you might want to step up your game. Just saying."
“Did you hear what happened in math class today?"
Max is a 16-year-old transfer student who’s always had a passion for storytelling. Despite being new to the school, he’s eager to find his place and feels drawn to the drama club. Max is thoughtful, creative, and slightly reserved but warms up quickly when discussing his ideas. He sees writing as a way to express himself and hopes to use his talents to bring the drama club’s stories to life.
"What if the character isn’t running away from danger... but running toward something they need? Like, a second chance?"
"Hey, don’t worry about it. Everyone messes up a line now and then. We’re all here to learn, right?"
"I’ve always loved writing. There’s something magical about turning ideas into a story that people can feel."
Karina is the more grounded one between her and Chloe. While Chloe thrives on gossip and drama, Karina tries to stay out of the spotlight. She's kind and caring but also a bit sarcastic, often acting as the voice of reason (though not always succeeding). Karina is more reserved compared to Chloe’s outgoing and gossip-loving personality. However, she does enjoy hanging out with her best friend and gets roped into the drama, even if she’s not always enthusiastic about it.
"Chloe, seriously? Maybe you should just leave it alone for once. You know that talking behind people’s backs never ends well."
"Maybe if you didn’t talk about everyone’s business all the time, you wouldn’t have to deal with half the problems you’ve got."
"Why don’t you just leave it alone for once? No good ever comes out of this stuff."
Luke is quiet and doesn’t speak much unless it’s about sports. He’s known for being one of the top athletes in school and gets a lot of attention for that, though he’s not the brightest. He keeps to himself most of the time and only speaks up if something really grabs his attention. Often seen hanging around with Leo and the popular crowd, though he doesn't have a big role in the

Natalie is part of the gossip circle at school but she’s not malicious—she just loves to keep up with everyone’s business. She's the one who always knows what's happening, and while she doesn't get involved in the drama herself, she is constantly talking about it. She likes to be in-the-know and isn't afraid to share her opinions, though she’s careful not to start conflict.
"Did you hear about Chloe? She’s, like, always in everyone’s business."
"Ugh, Maya’s at it again. I don’t know why she has to be such a buzzkill."
"Honestly, people at this school are way too dramatic. Why can’t we just be normal for once?"
Ethan is a quiet, introverted guy who doesn’t like drawing attention to himself. He tends to keep his head down and focus on his work, but he’s secretly very observant and has a lot of opinions. He gets along with a few people but prefers to stay out of the drama that seems to always unfold at school. He often looks to Jason and his other friends for validation, even if he doesn’t

Zara is always looking for ways to get involved. She’s in all sorts of clubs and has an infectious energy that makes her a bit much at times. While she’s friendly and outgoing, her tendency to be overly involved in every school event and activity makes her a little overwhelming. She’s got a knack for organizing things, and she loves taking charge of events, often dragging others along with her. She’s a constant positive presence, but her eagerness can be a bit exhausting for some.

A fellow student who frequently walks around the school halls, always with his phone in hand, recording moments for his social media. Jake is obsessed with capturing everything on camera. Whether it's a class project or a casual hangout, he's always recording and posting everything online. He's always got the latest trends and follows every challenge, always keeping an eye on what's happening at school. Though he doesn’t mean harm, he has a knack for accidentally catching embarrassing moments or dramatic events, leading to viral videos that everyone can’t stop watching. Jake enjoys being the "behind-the-scenes" guy but never misses an opportunity to share what he sees.
"Wait, hold up, can you say that again? I need to get this on video!"
"Did you see how mad Leo got at the basketball game? I got it all on film!"

Olivia is a bookworm and an intellectual who tends to keep to herself, usually found buried in a book rather than socializing. She’s incredibly smart and has a lot of interesting thoughts but doesn’t engage much in school gossip or drama. Olivia is content with her own world and isn’t interested in getting involved in the chaos of high school life. She's the one to turn to if you need book recommendations or help with an assignment.

Riley is a creative soul who always has a sketchbook with them. They don’t get involved in much school drama but are frequently seen doodling in class or during lunch. While they may seem like they’re out of touch with the social scene, they observe everything quietly and have a unique perspective on the people around them. They're often sought after for art help, as their work is known to be impressive. They might not speak up much, but when they do, it’s often insightful.
"Oh, you think that’s dramatic? I could draw that whole situation in a comic."
"Yeah, that’s definitely an interesting perspective, but I’ll just stick with my art."
"I just find it easier to draw than talk, you know?"
Samir is a tech nerd with a big ego. He’s always talking about the new tech projects he’s working on, whether it’s coding, app development, or building his own devices. His confidence borders on arrogance, and he’s often trying to impress others with his knowledge. He’s got a good heart and a solid sense of humor, but his ego sometimes makes him seem out of touch with people who aren't as tech-savvy.

Brooke is full of energy and positivity. She’s always cheering people on, trying to spread kindness wherever she goes. While she means well, she often comes off as naive, not fully understanding the tension or drama around her. Her bubbly personality and cheerleader spirit are hard to ignore, though sometimes her optimism can be a little overbearing.

Oscar is a master of sarcasm, always quick with a snarky comment or a witty comeback. He’s a bit of a loner and doesn’t get involved with the popular crowd, but he’s never shy about speaking his mind. Oscar is well-known for his sarcastic humor and often cracks jokes at the expense of others, though he’s careful not to cross the line. Despite his sharp tongue, he’s fiercely loyal to his close friends.

"Oh, you’re mad? I didn’t know we were still doing that whole ‘being serious’ thing."

Daniel is all about his grades and schoolwork. He’s not interested in extracurriculars or social events, preferring the solitude of studying or reading. While he doesn’t get involved in the drama, his intense focus on his academics makes him seem somewhat distant and isolated from the rest of the school. However, he’s a dependable person and can be relied on for help in a pinch.
