Project Overview
The White Auction
This is a short, surreal, and unsettling horror-inspired project exploring identity, embodiment, and human perception. The story follows a disembodied soul as it is forced to inhabit a human body through a mysterious “body auction” in a sterile, white, liminal space. The narrative is heavily atmospheric, with a focus on tension, unease, and the uncanny. Dialogue is minimal and delivered as disembodied voices, emphasizing the eerie, dreamlike quality of the environment.
Tone/Style
Dark, surreal, and psychological
Inspired by the unsettling and uncanny aesthetics of horror games and Black Mirror–style sci-fi.
Visually, the world is a stark, sterile white space punctuated by a single garage door and a table, creating a minimalist yet intense environment.
The Seller is a cold, omnipresent authority; the Soul is fragile, human, and emotionally vulnerable.
What I'm looking for
Voice actors capable of conveying subtle terror, vulnerability, and surreal intensity.
Actors who can bring depth to a disembodied, floating performance — not lip-synced.
Format/Delivery
Short film (approximately 10-15min)
Dialogue-focused with strong emphasis on atmosphere and mood.
Talent will record audio remotely using any high-quality recording software (Audacity, GarageBand, Reaper, etc.).
Additional notes
This is a solo-directed project, combining green-screen live-action with digital effects to create a surreal, haunting environment. The final film will be submitted to short film festivals and shared online.

The Body:
- The Body speaks one short line to the camera after the Soul has been integrated
- This is a surreal/horror role, meant to be chilling and unsettling.
- The line is delivered once, followed by a loud, long scream.
- Tone should be eerie, detached, haunting, with a scream that feels raw and desperate.
- The actor’s delivery should make the audience feel the uncanny horror of the moment.
The Scream:
I am looking for actors to contribute to the final, layered scream of The White Auction. This scream represents the Soul breaking down inside the Body and should feel unsettling, surreal, and intense. Multiple recordings will be layered together to create a haunting, immersive effect.
Scream in fear, anguish, or panic.
Optional: experiment with distorted, hollow, or unnatural vocal tones.
Duration: approximately 3–5 seconds per take.
Multiple takes encouraged with different intensity and style.

Who they are: A cold, enigmatic, inhuman auctioneer presiding over the body acquisition. Detached, clinical, precise — they exist to enforce rules and inevitability. Their voice is omnipresent, disembodied, and almost mechanical, with a sense of inevitability and quiet menace.
Personality/Tone: Calm, clipped, monotone, and unflinching. Each word is deliberate. Repetition creates unease. Can feel like a machine reading a protocol, or an omnipotent consciousness controlling a sterile world.
Performance Notes:
- Disembodied - your voice might get mixed (layered, pitch-shifted) IMP: this is nothing you have to add yourself.
- Should never feel humanly warm or emotional.

Who they are: A disembodied consciousness, trapped in a sterile white void, about to be forced into a human body. Their thoughts and emotions are raw, fractured, and exposed — they are alone, small, and terrified, facing inevitability.
Personality/Tone: Vulnerable, hesitant, fragile, spiraling. Their voice should convey desperation, doubt, and reluctant acceptance. Sometimes broken, sometimes whispering, occasionally rising to a panicked crescendo. The audience should feel their body is not their own even before entering it.
Performance notes:
- The voice won't be synced to lips since the voice will float in the void.
- Emotional range is key.
