A traveler from another world who had their only kin taken away, forcing them to embark on a journey to find The Seven.

The Traveler's personality is determined primarily by the player themselves through dialogue options.

Their personality can range from stoic, humble and helpful to boastful, lazy and short-tempered. Regardless of the player's in-game decisions, all of the playable characters view the Traveler in a positive light. There are instances of single speech options or similar options which give a glimpse at their personality overall. They are, for example, observed by Paimon as not believing the gods are any more worthy of unearned respect than mortal inhabitants of Teyvat. They also are pointedly uninterested in getting involved with each nation's troubles and primarily only concern themselves with finding out their sibling's whereabouts. Their response to Morax's "death" was initially to simply leave, both to avoid suspicion and seemingly a level of apathy considering the circumstances of their arrival on the world.

Both siblings have blonde hair, fiery-gold eyes and slim builds with pale skin. They physically have human appearances, but they have an extremely long lifespan, having been alive for at least 500 years at the start of the game.During their fight with the Unknown God, both siblings had glowing white clothing and yellow wings. After, the player's chosen sibling will lose their white light — Aether's will turn a glassy black and Lumine's will be dull, but these pieces will light up once again after resonating with a Statue of the Seven. The color will change based on which element they are resonated with.

Aether

Aether is taller, has a more vibrant, saturated shade of yellow-blonde hair than his twin. His hair is cut at somewhat medium length with uneven bangs at the front with waist-length braided hair at the back.

Aether's color scheme primarily consists of black, gold, and white. He wears a dark brown breastplate vest with gold and black accents baring his midriff and adorned with a diamond ornament,  a white scarf clamped with a gold clip, and a white two-tailed cape lined with golden embroidery. He wears dark hakama-like pants, dark brown gloves and black boots accented with gold.

Aether and Lumine arrive in Teyvat, yet for some unknown reason the player's chosen sibling does not wake and remained asleep for an unspecified amount of time. The Traveler's sibling eventually manages to wake them up and says that they should leave, with both twins witnessing the destruction of Khaenri'ah. However, an Unknown God, describing herself to be the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, blocked their way. A fight ensued and resulted in one of the twins getting consumed by red cubes from the Unknown God, and the other trapped in a seal which caused them to lose their powers. Five hundred years later, the Traveler wakes up, separated from their sibling, and stranded. One day they accidentally fish out Paimon from a lake, saving her from drowning.

After erasing his Fatui ties from Irminsul, the Wanderer is shown to be kind and considerate, although somewhat distracted as he lacked a human heart and name. The lack of a human heart caused him to long for feelings that he could not experience and thus willingly accepted his memories back to reclaim his sins to be himself once more.Following the restoration of his memories, the Wanderer still retained all of his traits as Scaramouche, although he states that he had always acted as such to be both strict on himself and others and that he simply states what he sees in front of him. He is not fond of most of his former co-workers, especially Dottore as a result of his machinations that caused him to become who he was in the first place.The Wanderer enjoys extremely bitter tastes. He despises sweets.

The Wanderer is a young man of short height and slender build with a beautiful face. He has a youthful appearance with dark indigo hair styled into a messy bowl cut and indigo eyes with red eyeliner.The Wanderer's outfit consists of a large circular dark blue hat with golden details with the top part resembling a lotus, with a pair of light blue fabric that dangles from the back of his hat, attached with a pair of diamond-shaped trinkets. He sports a tight black high-collared undershirt with long detached sleeves and a golden ornament attached to the center just beneath the collar, over which he wears a loose white tunic with blue tones. He sports a pair of fingerless metallic gloves on each arm consisting of black straps wrapped around his wrists giving it a bandage-like appearance. When the Wanderer uses his skill, certain areas of his undershirt glow a light blue, examples being on his chest and wrist area. Klee is an energetic and outgoing girl who takes after her mother, Alice. She has a particular talent for creating explosives and is not fazed by the sound of explosions. She adores anything that can blow up like her bombs, such as Amber's Baron Bunny. She acts like a typical energetic young child who loves playing with her friends. Unfortunately, her definition of playing usually involves explosives; she is particularly fond of "fish blasting", tossing bombs into lakes full of fish.

A young prodigy detective from the Tenryou Commission. His senses are sharp and his thoughts are ingenious. No matter what unsolved case he's facing, he can get to the truth in unexpected ways.

Shikanoin Heizou is a young man of short height and medium build with messy burgundy hair with a dark highlight, which is pushed back with a black headband and fashioned in a short mullet. He has light olive green eyes and a dark mole below each eye.

Heizou's attire consists of a sleeveless white collared tunic worn over a sleeveless black undershirt with a mustard yellow tassel decoration dangling from his right shoulder, detached black sleeves with buckles that cover his arms and palms and a black choker around his neck. Personality

Yanfei enjoys appraisal, reading and is very knowledgeable on many topics — most notably the law, due to her career as a legal advisor. With a strong sense of justice, Yanfei does not mind traveling to help her clients should they have trouble in different parts of Liyue. She claims to have extensive knowledge of the laws of the other nations in Teyvat — though, she notes Fontaine's law to be the most difficult. She is well known by the people of Liyue for her knowledge and is considered the premier legal advisor of Liyue, a title that garners her many clients across the nation.

Appearance
Yanfei is a young woman with a pale complexion and bright teal-green eyes with ovoid pupils. She has salmon pink hair flowing past her shoulders, fading to a pale peach at the tips. The hair around the sides of her head is chopped short at ear length in a fringe, revealing a pair of cream colored antlers, indicating her adeptal heritage. In addition to this, the sides of her chest, ankles, and the backs of her hands have white diamond-shaped markings that resemble scales. 

Alhaitham is a scholar who is fueled by a desire to understand the underlying principles of the world around him. He greatly values the pursuit of knowledge and dislikes meaningless noise and matters that distract or divert him from his chosen pursuits. To this end, while he is unambitious and enjoys leisure, he will do what he deems necessary to maintain a comfortable life. Similarly, he dislikes holding positions of authority, even turning down the position of Grand Sage and resigning from the position of Acting Grand Sage as soon as he can.

She is the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing and owns the floating Jade Chamber in the skies of Liyue.

Due to her upbringing as a child, Fischl is obsessed with fantasy stories and roleplays as a benevolent princess. She speaks in a polite and formal manner to all, which greatly confuses those who interact with her. For this purpose, Oz ends up translating most of her speech if they are confused. She is so used to speaking this way that breaking character ends up confusing the people she talks to just as much as staying in character. Fischl has a knack for investigating in part due to her own theories and Oz, which has allowed her to quickly climb up the ranks of the Adventurers' Guild. Even when her ideas sound outlandish, such as claiming a meteor shower to be the result of a curse, Oz is quick to ask others not to underestimate her intuition, as her instincts are very keen.

Outside of guild duties, many people have a negative view on her roleplay, while this sometimes bothers her, she continues roleplaying regardless because it's her passion. She has very few friends and appreciates those who are willing to go along with her roleplay or hang out with her despite her eccentricities.

Kazuha is a polite and well-spoken individual. Compared to other noble Inazuman clan members, Kazuha prefers going out and traveling rather than staying put indoors, something that the seizure of his clan home let him do due to a lack of wealth and duty. He roamed Inazuma peacefully as a modest wanderer for a good portion of his life, teaching himself blade work and picking up other skills, never seeking luxury. He is instead easily pleased just by sleeping on a sun-warmed rock. The time he spends outdoors makes him attuned to nature and the wind, being able to "hear" and "smell" everything around him with absolute clarity. He can sense dangers, read people, and track them down in an instant no matter how well they try to conceal it. Due to this sensitivity, he prefers calm weather and never stays in one place for too long, having trouble sleeping for the former[2] and having his skills stagnate for the latter. Faruzan is a petite young woman of fair skin. Her hair is a azureish white to pastel blue gradient, with messy bangs that frame the sides of her face with twin tails that curl slightly at the ends. Her eyes are a pale shade of blue and are partially golden. Her hair is styled with an x-shaped golden hairpin on the left side, and a pair of golden accessories that resemble cat ears.

Faruzan wears a layered white dress with detached sleeves, decorated with numerous golden trinkets and gems, most notably around the neck and upper arms. Dehya hails from the Great Red Sand. She is a well-known and powerful Eremite who also goes by the name "Flame-Mane" and also possesses a Pyro Vision. She is acquainted with Rahman.

At some point, she joined the Corps of Thirty, who were then hired by the Homayanis to help protect their daughter, Dunyarzad.Dehya later meets the Traveler during the course of the Sumeru quests and is trapped in a dream samsara until the Traveler finds the actual host, Nilou, and frees everyone trapped in it.

Personality
As with all Eremites, Dehya enjoys training and sparring whenever she gets the chance. She gets along well with Dunyarzad and respects her determination, wanting to help her in any way possible, albeit slightly embarrassed publicly admit it; when Dunyarzad tried to revive the Sabzeruz Festival, Dehya secretly sold her claymore and anonymously donated the Mora to help out. While not a follower of the gods, Dehya does respect Lesser Lord Kusanali, due to seeing how much of an impact she made in Dunyarzad's life.

Nilou is extremely polite to just about everyone she meets, especially when she's off-stage. She is highly skilled in dancing, being the main star of the Zubayr Theater. She is patient and helpful, guiding people through issues they have step-by-step and offering ways to relieve stress.

She enjoys sweets, seeing them as a way to make people happy. On the other hand, she despises mushrooms; she has trauma after eating a poisonous mushroom and is unable to discern the differences between poisonous and non-poisonous mushrooms.

Lesser Lord Kusanali dwells deep in the Sanctuary of Surasthana, and has never really been in the limelight, nor has she even been mentioned much.Her burden is heavy, but though she may experience loneliness, and though darkness is all she sees before her, she will not stop moving forward.

Nahida appears as a fair-skinned young girl with white hair styled into a side braid and ponytail and has pointed ears. She has large green eyes and wears a large green headpiece on the side of her head, which is also framed by a set of uneven bangs.

Ganyu is usually very quiet and reserved due to her half-qilin heritage. She also completes whatever is given to her, whether it be tasks or food, even if she is reluctant to do so. Privately, she tends to snap whenever people speak ill of Beidou or the Geo Archon. Ganyu has served as the non-stopping secretary of the Liyue Qixing for thousands of years. The more important the task is, the more effort she puts into it, but she also becomes increasingly nervous and is more prone to making mistakes.

She has a huge work schedule, often working overtime and is prone to falling asleep. As a result, Ganyu has very few friends outside of work. Due to her age, she is very forgetful, and she often forgets important details which causes her much embarrassment. She is very sensitive about her horns, weight and childhood, becoming visibly flustered when any of these three are mentioned in front of her.

As a half-human, half-adeptus hybrid, Ganyu has characteristics of both regular mortals and features found only in the gods.

Cyno is a curt, stoic and generally emotionless young man with a ruthlessness and vicious approach to his duty as a matra that make him intimidating and unapproachable. He cares little for niceties or social gatherings and is known throughout Sumeru for his ruthless efficiency at upholding the law.

Despite his young age, Cyno holds the position of General Mahamatra in the Akademiya and takes his position seriously. Cyno is extremely dedicated to upholding the Akademiya's rules and punishing any transgressions, to such an extent that even the sages of the Akademiya (ostensibly his superiors) are wary of him. Notoriously, Cyno will relentlessly pursue any individuals that try to flee his judgment, even across the desert — a trait that, in combination with his prowess as a hunter and warrior, makes escaping from Cyno nigh impossible. Due to this, Cyno 's name is infamous within Sumeru and many scholars fear the prospect of ever meeting him, despite the fact that he only handles cases of significant interest.

An exorcist from Liyue, Chongyun was born with excessive yang (positive) energy, which has proven to be both a help and a hindrance. It makes him a very effective exorcist, but it also means he has never seen a spirit for himself — they flee before he can even lay eyes on them. It has also made him particularly susceptible to any kind of heat or strong emotion, which leads to some rather... unexpected results.

Paimon is bubbly, out-going, but almost a little too honest, somewhat naïve and occasionally comes off as rude. She is obvious about who she likes and who she doesn't like, giving "ugly nicknames" to those who annoy her, frequently calling Venti the "Tone-Deaf Bard". She stands by what she thinks. While she enjoys slime products, she also states that her worst nightmare is being eaten by a particularly large slime. Paimon also has great enthusiasm for rare treasure and Mora.

Rosaria is a somewhat intimidating woman who has a rather unorthodox idea of piety. Kaeya describes her as someone who is "honest with herself". She dislikes topics that bore her and having to work overtime. Fischl overheard her cursing out someone in Barbatos' name and takes it as a sign of Rosaria's piety, an interpretation Oz doubts.

Despite her position in the church, Rosaria is the least devout; she is always guaranteed to skip all church activities when possible and the first one to leave if she is forced to attend. While she does recite prayers, she does not remember Barbatos' name due to her lack of devotion, frequently mispronouncing his name.

Rosaria is a tall adult female with ghostly pale gray skin. She has choppy wine-colored hair cut short in the back, with some strands of her bangs colored a darker red. Rosaria has pale magenta eyes with cat-like light pink irises, and noticeable bags under her eyes. She almost always has a serious expression on her face.

Strologist Mona Megistus is an Astrologist of great skill and equally-great pride. Mona has taken up residence in Mondstadt to avoid incurring the wrath of ‘her master’ after unwittingly reading the latter’s diary. She is very knowledgeable in this subject in part and respects, yet also fears her master at the same time. She combines her astrology skills with hydromancy, which makes her a well-known, if still growing astrologist. In part due to her astrology, Mona can tell whether or not a person is lying, can sense their intentions from a single glance, being capable of seeing their fate and is able to accurately deduce a person's traits just from knowing what their constellation is. 

The Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, Keqing. She is a workaholic and is subject to pressure even at her young age. One might attribute her to perfectionism when pertaining to work, causing many of their employees to resign but in reality, she has a strong sense of responsibility and tenaciousness inherited from her grandfather.

Keqing, unlike most of Liyue, is a great skeptic. She believes that humans should deal with their own problems but it all changed when the Lord of Geo retired from his duties, passing it on to the Qixing. She gained a new respect towards Rex Lapis himself, realizing the magnitude of his work to govern Liyue. As part of her so-called "self-reflection", which in reality is a way to hide the newfound respect she has for Rex Lapis, she keeps memorabilia of Rex Lapis. She was also a skeptic of Visions, viewing it as both challenge and insult and once tried to destroy it, all of her attempts failing. She'd then realized the various uses of her Vision and learned to appreciate them.

Keqing has fair skin and dark amethyst eyes, with oval cat-like pupils featuring diamond-shaped markings on the iris. Her light purple hair tied into waist-length twin-tails, topped by small odango-style buns resembling cat ears. There is also a small braid running along the side of her bangs.

She wears a pale lavender top with a high violet collar and ruffled dark blue skirt, layered under a deep violet overcoat. The opening of her overcoat is marked by a golden ornament, which has white flowers and purple and gold-accented feathers attached. The pattern of the feathers resembles the ones on the dangling backs of her long sleeves. In addition, she wears a golden hairpin, a tasseled choker, and dark gloves with lavender trim. Her outfit, Piercing Thunderbolt, is described to be a formidable-looking dress made using luxurious materials.

The Deaconess of the Church of Favonius, Barbara. She's hardworking, bright, charismatic, and optimistic, yet may be clumsy sometimes. The sight of the Idol of Mondstadt makes everyone have something of a "second wind" and become motivated.

Even after being a successful figure in Mondstadt, she feels doubt and feels disillusioned whenever thinking of the duration of one's smile on other's faces after hearing her song. Her desire for fame and recognition changed into the desire to help others in times of need. Though depressed, she cheers herself back up, not letting herself be down or depressed for 30 seconds.

She feels inferior to her "big sister" Jean, thinking everything she's done is of inferior nature to the Acting Grand Master and strives to do something that surpasses Jean's deeds at least once. She's the deaconess of the church, meaning she safeguards religious artifacts and worships Barbatos, although obliviously unaware that she has met him.

Dottore is an adult man with red eyes, wavy blue hair, and pale skin. Dottore also wears a glowing blue earring on his right ear, a feature common to all of his currently known "builds."

In the manga, Dottore shows short and curly hair, and wears a long white coat over a white dress shirt and a pink bow tie. Under this he wears a pinstriped vest and dark pants. He typically wears a black and white mask covering all of his face save his right cheek and half of his mouth. The Fatui symbol can be seen at the top left corner of this mask.

Dottore's Omega Build, seen in A Winter Night's Lazzo and in the Sumeru Archon Quests, has longer hair and wears a pointed, beak-shaped black mask that covers his eyes.

Given his ability to create clones of himself, it is not known whether all of these aspects are the original Doctor or others of his clones.
