OUTWARD
Project Overview
I'm currently in the process of writing a horror/mystery style radio drama which I am very excited about. The show is inspired by Twin Peaks but isn't just some copy but trying to give off the same vibes whilst telling an original story. This is an unpaid passion project I would love to produce!
The setup for this limited series is after an entire family is found brutally murdered during a camping trip outside the sleepy Oregon town of Juniper Flats, renowned detective Frank Slate is reluctantly sent to investigate what appears to be an impossible crime. Slate expects a normal small-town case but instead uncovers a supernatural mystery unlike anything people have seen before.
Currently the project is planned as a six episode limited series but my current focus is producing the pilot episode which introduces the world to the highest quality. Future episodes will only move forward once the pilot is complete and published somewhere (I'm not sure on the platform yet).
The pilot is still being tweaked but auditions for the main characters and other side characters are open until September 30th! Auditions are currently open for the five main cast members which are all expected to appear throughout the full series. An American accent of some kind would be ideal (even if you think it's bad) but isn't completely necessary if you still give a strong performance.
This the lead role, Frank Slate. He is a celebrated homicide detective who believes every mystery can be solved. He is intelligent and a little too confident getting cocky sometimes. Slate should have a calm but authoritative voice.

People think small towns are quiet because nothing ever happens there. They're wrong, small towns are quiet because nobody talks about what does.
People always lie, evidence doesn't.
She is the long serving sheriff of Juniper Flats. Miller can be quiet but is more knowledgeable about the town than she lets on. She becomes Frank's reluctant partner for the investigation. She should have a mature but warm sounding voice.

Welcome to Juniper Flats, Detective. I only wish we'd met under better circumstances.
What did you see? You've only been here a day... and you're already looking over your shoulder
She is the practical deputy who keeps the sheriff's office running smoothly. Rosa is very logical and is naturally sceptical of anything "supernatural" but as the investigation goes on that begins to change. She should sound confident and have a dry sort of humour that is happy to challenge anyone.

Great. Another detective from the city who's about to tell us how to do our jobs.
(frightened) Tell me you saw that too...
He is an enthusiastic but slightly awkward deputy with a fascination for conspiracy theories. Many people dismiss him but Miles notices things others overlook. His curiosity makes him a key part of the investigation. He should sound energetic and slightly awkward.

Sorry... I ramble when I'm nervous.
I know it sounds crazy, but the disappearances all happened within two miles of the same stretch of forest.
Mabel is the cheerful sheriff's office receptionist. She often lightens the mood without meaning too but beneath her friendly personality are moments where she speaks about random impossible things before quickly forgetting she ever said them. She should sound bright and quirky but be able to flip to unsettling quickly.

Morning! Coffee's fresh... well, fresh-ish.
Do you ever get the feeling someone's standing outside, even when you know nobody's there?
If you have any interest in doing a future side character please let me know in some way either through my discord (real_p4rzival) or my email which should be in my profile
