Project Overview
[USE THIS CASTING CALL INSTEAD, THE OTHER ONE WAS OUTDATED] Well, I'd never thought I'd be doing this again....
Anyways, hello! Welcome to this stupid little project that I'm doing, which is an abridged parody of The Sealed Esoteric History, an anime based on the Touhou Project series. I really like this anime, so I wanted to do this for fun!
Anyways! As I'm posting this casting call, there are currently only three episodes of the anime, and I plan to tackle all of them! I mean yeah I'm doing the editing by myself and I also have a life outside of this but I'm still up for it, even if these take long to come out.
THINGS TO KNOW:First and foremost, this is an abridged series, and as you've noticed most of the characters are female. ALL GENDERS ARE WELCOME TO AUDITION FOR THE FEMALE ROLES! I also think it would be really funny since this is an abridged parody, so go for it!
Decent microphone quality! I'm not one of those guys who requires XLR mics. USB mics are perfectly fine! Hell even I use one; I just want little to no background noise and distortion.
Improv is encouraged! I dunno about you but I love doing improv and providing my own spin on lines, so if you wanna do improv, you can! We're just being silly after all. It's completely up to you though!
Be sure to meet deadlines! I'm usually lenient when it comes to deadlines, as I usually give people a month or two. If you need an extension lemme know sooner rather than later.
If casted, contact will be through either Discord or Email. However, to those using Discord, I WILL NOT BE CREATING A DISCORD SERVER. I know it seems weird, but I'm not the kinda guy to actively run a Discord server, and I have a lot on my plate as is, so communicating with you separately through DMs is much easier for me, personally.
Knowledge of the source material is NOT REQUIRED, just a bonus! You don't need to know what Touhou is or need to watch this anime in order to audition, that wouldn't be fair in my opinion. BUT! If you do have some knowledge of Touhou then that's great!
Goes without saying, but this is 18+. There will be cursing involved as well as crude humor, so please keep this in mind! It's nothing too bad, but I'm just making sure, y'know?
Please provide at least 2-3 takes per character! I usually go with the AABBCC format. You can also audition for as many as you want!

Watatsuki no Yorihime (Wah-tah-tsuh-kee no Yoh-ree-hee-meh) is another minor character who only appears in this episode. She's a Lunarian princess, who along with her older sister Toyohime, is in charge of the Lunarian Defense Corps.
Yorihime is more serious than her sister, and she doesn't waste an opportunity to tell her how carefree she is.

Yukari Yakumo (Yoo-kah-ree Yah-koo-moh) is one of the secondary characters of this episode. So far she's only prominent in the first episode. She is a legendary youkai who is able to manipulate boundaries.
Normally Yukari is very laid back and tends to enjoy life. Though here, she's rather serious at points, but she does have a sense of humor.

Maribel Hearn (Mah-rih-bel Hurn) is one of the main characters. Together with Renko, they investigate the possibility of other worlds and such. Specifically, they're interested in Gensokyo, the Netherworld, and the Moon, and seem to be among the few, or even the only humans from the outside world who know of Gensokyo's existence.
Maribel, though seeming reserved, is quite adventurous, due to her ability to see boundaries and travel to other worlds.

Renko Usami (Ren-koh Oo-sah-mee) is the 2nd main protagonist. She has no relation to Gensokyo, but is aware of it through Maribel talking about her visits to it in her dreams.
Renko is a confident person with an adventurous and daring personality. Being a physics major, she also tends to view things from a more objective point of view.

Eirin Yagokoro (Ay-rin Yah-go-koh-ro) is a minor character in this episode. She was a very well-known figure on the Moon, having not only been instrumental in the founding of Lunar society with Lord Tsukuyomi, but also being its leading medical mind and the person in charge of the Moon's emissaries to the Earth.
She is generally a fairly pleasant person and is devoted to serving Kaguya, but she does not suffer fools gladly, and because of her incredibly high intelligence, she can come across as conceited, impatient and condescending at times to those not sharp enough to follow her explanations immediately.

Kaguya Houraisan (Kah-goo-yah Ho-rai-sahn) is another minor character. She was once a princess of the Lunarians, a race of people living on the Moon. For the crime of creating the Hourai Elixir, she and Eirin Yagokoro were exiled to Earth, where they came to live in what would eventually become Gensokyo. She is currently the princess of Eientei.
Kaguya has a rather carefree personality. She apparently is refined in the art of conversation, but her vocabulary is a bit dated.

(being called down to eat her dumplings before the rabbits do) OKAY OKAY, I'M COMING!! (grumbling to herself) Nobody eats Kaguya’s dumplings and gets away with it….

Prince Sasarae (Sah-sah-ray) is another minor character, also an original character created specifically for the anime. Right hand man to Prince Tsuku, he carries out the fight against the earth youkai invading the moon.
In the actual anime, he's rather serious, but in the abridged, while he still has his serious moments, he tends to be very full of himself and speaks in verbose sentences.

Watatsuki no Toyohime (Wah-tah-tsuh-kee no Toh-yoh-hee-meh) is a minor character who only appears in this episode. She is a Lunarian princess who, along with her younger sister Yorihime, is in charge of the Lunarian Defense Corps.
Though she has a gentle personality and she seems to be innocent, she possesses immense power. She lives an almost carefree life reading books, singing songs or eating the peaches that grow on the Moon, but she doesn't get much exercise.

Another minor character WOOOO!!! Yuyuko Saigyouji (Yoo-yoo-koh Sigh-gyoh-jee) is the ghost "princess" head of Hakugyokurou in the Netherworld. Here, she helps Yukari and Suika in their stand against the Lunarians.
She speaks softly, and she often makes bizarre and apparently nonsensical remarks and sometimes seems to overlook the obvious.
