(timidly) "I just told her that I invited some friends of mine, I didn't know it would be such a big deal."
(mad but still shy) "No, you don't get it. I hate her! How could you even think she was my friend?"
(laughing) "Really? That's funny." (jokingly) "Why are you telling me that? You know I could call the police."
Description: Ethan is a short-tempered teenager. He has anger issues and can be violent sometimes, more verbally than physically, but never to the ones that he cares about. However, he is way more emotional than he seems. He is an honest guy and an overprotective brother.
(bored) "This is ridiculous."
(contemptuous) "You can't change who you are."
(a little nervous) "Oh, well... I've already been here before."
Description: Lucy is a nice and sweet teenage girl. She's very sensitive and would rather hear pleasant lies than the hurtful truth. She is somewhat selfish, jealous, and possessive toward people she loves.
(sad) "*sigh* I promised her we'd both come to the wedding but... I can't do it."
(upset) "We didn't break up for nothing so do whatever you want."
(insisting) "Yes! I'm telling you so!"
Description: Danny likes to help everyone. He is kind, but also very naive. He sees what's good in others and would be ready to forgive anyone.
(a little angry and very confused) "Why? What's going on?"
(powerless, confused) "I don't understand."
Description: Carol is an outgoing teenage girl. She's very optimistic and empathetic and likes to take care of others. She always seems happy and full of energy, but deep inside of her, she struggles with the fear of being rejected and abandoned.
(supportive, optimistic) "It could have been worse! That's what my mother says all the time."
(sweet) "I think you should tell him. He'll understand."
(tries to be nice and cool) "I'll spend all my Sundays with you from now on!"
(loses temper, aggressive, angry but not shouting.) "Listen to me, it's not because I'm trying to be nice that I will let you insult me."
(embarrassed) "You're not very chatty today."
Description: Karen is Derek's ex wife. She is a very sweet, kind, and patient mother. She was only a teenager when she met Derek and got pregnant with Ethan at the end of high school. Derek wanted to keep the baby, so she was stuck with him and could never go to college. However, she has some good memories with him, and she wishes he could again become the good father and husband he used to be.
(panicked) "Get off of him!"
(cold, annoyed) "Oh, that's right. You can go now."
(angry) "I'm not going to kill you right now! Stop being such a cry baby."
(upset) "That's crazy. I can never ask you anything!"
Description: Ian wants to be friends with everyone. He is too pure for this world and wouldn't hurt a fly. He is also very naive. Aaron killed his aunt and made him believe that the police did it. He is now hiding with him and Sasha (she doesn't appear in this episode) persuaded that the police is against them.
(happy) "Hey Danny! Good to see you!"
(feels bad) "I'm not allowed to say any more. You can't. That's all."
(sweet, reassuring) "My name is Ian, you must probably be scared, and I understand, but everything is fine."
Description: Sue is paranoid and thinks that the world is against her. She is also antisocial and it's not easy to communicate with her. She suffers from schizophrenia and lives in her own fantasy world.
(crying) "What are you going to do to me?"
(scared) "I don't know exactly."
Description: Elena and Healey are twin sisters so they have the same voice. They are Ethan's little sisters and are friendly and foolish. They like to mess with each other for fun.
(a little scared, disappointed) "Dad is being scary again."
(sorry) "Why? Is that a bad thing?"
Description: Jeff is Evie's father. He is calm, nice and loves his daughter but is more strict toward her since he became engaged to Lillian. He wishes Evie could follow his path and marry someone with the same social status.
(calm) "Oh please, don't overreact."
(calm and strict.) "You can't invite these people. We don't even know them. What were you thinking?"
(sweet) "What's going on with him? You know you can tell me anything."
Description: Lillian is Evie's stepmother. She is a perfectionist and hates it when Evie doesn't do what she says. She is very strict and wishes Jeff were more strict toward his daughter. She is also a drama queen and likes to exaggerate everything.
(irritated, lecturing) "Are you going to stand there and do nothing?"
(tries to keep calm) "Evie, are you trying to make me upset?"
(bored) "You take care of that. She's your daughter, not mine."
