The Railways of Crotoonia CASTING CALL
Project Overview
The Railways of Crotoonia is a fan-made crossover webseries starring many iconic characters from children's entertainment- and some brand new friends as well! Our first feature length special, Tillie to the Rescue!, debuted in August 2017 and has since climbed to 280k views! We are currently in production of our first season and hoping to expand our cast. Cerberus is a large, scary looking steam engine who shouldn't be underestimated. He can be calculating and manipulative when he wants to be and his temper balances on a knife's edge. He often does the bidding of some evil higher ups, but rarely is 100% obedient. The sound we're looking for is very sly, smooth, but able to get growl-y and scary when need be- Kelsey Grammar if he were playing a villain. Maybe also a bit like Discord from MLP. Linked is a sample of the character and voice that inspired this one. THIS is the sort of sound we want to hear!
{irritated} "Do you honestly think we care?! Get out of our way!"
{unsure} "...Now, when you say “collection”, that means...what, exactly?"
{sassy/sly} "She knows what I’m talking about. Don’t you, cupcake?"
Phoebe is rough and tough, but friendly. Stands no nonsense, but is mostly relaxed. Something along the lines of Ashly Burch (Enid from OK KO) with a bit more toughness/friendliness to her.
"Hey, hey, let up Ralph! She looks like a newcomer to our humble steelworks!" (relaxed/scolding)
"Name's Pheobe. Number 2 of the Bluthsburg Steelworks Co.! Lead shunter and hauler, and proud of it!"
"You don't know how we make these? How 'bout I show ya?"
Bonnie is excitable, energetic, and takes great pride in running her "Toon Train" Branch Line. We're looking for a Su Pollard sort of sound for her, but any interpretation that fits this will work.
"Oh, cooey Duck! How's ya mornin' been?"
"Ooh, I've been FANTASTIC! First the millah gave me this special load to bring to the docks, then I got meself an appointment at the Works for a new coat 'o paint, then I'm off ta Kahlville for some trucks, and then-"
"Oh! My apologies, Duck. Have yeself a lovely mornin'!"
Katy is a brakevan/Caboose that works with Tootle and is like a big sister to him. She should youthful, responsible, but with a hint of spirit to her voice.
"Don't move yet, Tootle! We've got to wait for the conductor to give the all-clear!"
(laughs, then speaks) "Yes, Tootle! Now you can go!"
"Ooo! Mind your coaches and cars! They've got fragile loads, you know!"
Georgia is a good friend of Tillie; encouraging and very polite, but tends to run into many boiler problems. She's a southern belle and should sound like one!
"Mornin', girls! Ready for a run to the docks?"
"Right; Rosie, you take the back! Emily, you can haul in the middle, and I'll take the front! Don't wanna damage my cowcatcher."
(boiler band is coming off) "Oh no, not again! Hold tight, darlin's! I'm losin' steam!"
