Eva Morgan is an educated woman aged 50 from London whose 23-year-old daughter has disappeared, thought kidnapped. She previously lost her first husband and young daughter in a road accident, and as a result has found it difficult to bond with her second child. She is married to actor Tom Morgan (also his second marriage), and their relationship is troubled. She is a consulting Genealogist. She is emotionally fragile, and terrified that she is going to lose another child,but her behaviour is dulled by the medication she takes for anxiety and depression.

Last night our daughter, Emma Morgan, disappeared on her way to a meal with friends in Manchester. Its her twenty-fourth birthday tomorrow, and she was looking forward to coming home for the weekend we know that someone has taken her.
