Hero of Time is a 4-minute animated concept trailer reimagining The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as an animated series, an independent, non-profit passion project built to a real production standard. We're casting the lead role of Link, the story's central hero, and looking for a voice actor who can bring real depth and range to a character who traditionally communicates without words (until now).
Link is a young hero riddled with guilt. Destiny finally handed him a purpose, and before he could live up to it, he was thrust seven years into the future, into a kingdom that fell while he was gone. He wasn't there to protect the people and the place he was meant to save, and that absence follows him into everything he does now.
Physically, his courage has never been in question. Emotionally, he's still learning to forgive himself for a failure that was never really his to prevent.
Voice-wise, Link is largely non-verbal in the source material, communicating primarily through effort sounds, exertion, and reaction rather than dialogue. We're aiming to replicate that voice as closely as possible, so someone with strong vocal range and the ability to adapt their performance to match a reference will be especially valuable, alongside the ability to carry guilt, quiet self-doubt, determination, grief, and warmth through voice alone.
