This is a voice casting call for a series I'm doing called Kelly and the Volcano spirits, a 3-season 60-episode series I'm making that involves spirits of real-world volcanoes roaming the world and having little adventures in their life while also trying to prevent what's known as the Supers, supervolcano spirits, from doing bad acts and eventually causing an apocalyptic volcanic winter. There's also a little subplot with Britley, a volcano spirit just born from the magma and one who doesn't have a home, finding his place with the volcano spirits along with finding himself.
Currently the series is in season 1, where things are more slice-of-life with some chaos and lore sprinkled in here and there, and some episodes may focus on other spirits as well. This casting call is for all characters that appear in the first 10 episodes of season 1, or volume 1 of the series.
There isn't any pay for this project, but credit will be given. When applying and auditioning, put your Discord tag/username (if you have one) in the comments so that if I do accept your audition, I can send you the lines of your character on there, and you can send me the voiced lines back. If you don't have Discord you can just contact me in the project DMs.
side note: Character role images are shown as their latest appearance/render, some from 2022, some from 2023, and some from 2024, when it was still called The Kilauea-Chan Project; may not reflect final designs and will update them when possible.
hi I'm so sorry episode 1 hasn't released yet, college and other personal stuff have been biting on my back which is causing procrastination and a bit of demotivation for this

Hawaiian volcano spirit. The main girl of the series, leader of the 5 Stars. More calm and content when outside her group, but may be agitated if something provokes or surprises her enough. Likes to soothe herself in lava pools

Italian volcano spirit. Has a bit of sass. Girlfriend of Stromboli (she nicknamed him Boli-Bae) and she tries her hardest to avoid Campi
(miffed at Campi) How many times do I have to tell you, I am not dating a Super like you
(with Stromboli) I just love the little lava candle fountains you make Boli-Bae~
Japanese volcano spirit. Girlfriend of Britley. Does act cute and has a rather high pitched voice, but can also be feisty when provoked a lot
(with Britley) Hai Britley! Nice to see ya again!
(provoked by a Super) You have messed with the wrong girl... So get ready for A TASTE OF MY ULTIMATE POWER!
Italian volcano spirit. Boyfriend of Etna, charismatic, most sensible of the group. He likes putting out Strombolian lava candle shows as well
(complimenting Etna) Your lava fountains always show those Supers who's the boss
(setting up lava candles at his home volcano) Just a candle here and a candle there, ready to burst with a nice light show
British volcano spirit just born from the magma. The youngest of the 5 Stars. Still in training, trying to find himself and his place with the volcano spirits.

(talking about the observatories at Mauna Kea) There's a lot of observatories at my home volcano, so if you want you can come over and we can watch the skies!
(rushing to a signal) Kelly! Kelly- *trips over something* Gah..! *keeps rushing* What's-What's the issue Kelly?

(hiding somewhere with another spirit) Better safe than sorry mate, wouldn't want to end up controlled by those Supers..
(to Loa who proposed cover in the lava pool) I'm not sure if that's a good way to hide. We could be spotted pretty easily..
Hawaiian submarine volcano spirit. Previously known as Loihi for the name. Works as a watchdog to search for danger on the surface and underwater, but can get caught in false alarms sometimes
(looking above the surface and underwater) Doesn't seem like anything is sneaking up here
(asking herself) Would I be upgraded to a shield spirit when my volcano eventually breaches the surface?
(fooled by a false alarm) Good god, that had me so worried right there..
American volcano spirit. Sister of Michelle and Susan. Gets pulled into fights with Susan almost all the time and bickers a lot
(to Susan) How many fights has this been now, 47?
(to Michelle) Susan just wouldn't stop would she? She's really gotta learn and deal with her issues..
American volcano spirit. Sister of Michelle and Natalie. Really arrogant and argumentative, getting into fights with Natalie all the time
(bickering with Natalie as always) "Faith" Heh, what a poor nickname you have...
(targeting Michelle) You! Stop sitting around and do something actually useful for once!
Retired/extinct American volcano spirit. Sister of Natalie and Susan. With her being retired, she doesn't have any power to calm the fights between the 2, and dreads of the sisterly bond being broken
(worried sick) When are these 2 going to stop..? I can't let this bond break...
(offended by Susan) I'm sorry did-did you just call me a dead spirit?
(to Natalie) If only there was something I can do to stop these quarrels...
Hawaiian volcano goddess. Taken on the role as one of the guardians of the volcano spirits and has a motherly instinct for those in need of calming. Always keeps watch for the Supers and alerts a group of spirits when danger arises.

Greek god of the forge, blacksmiths, and volcanoes. Took on the role as one of the guardians and he's more into the battle aspect of things, and talks more about the strength. Whenever there is trouble between volcano spirits, he won't be afraid to get his hammer out.

Indonesian volcano spirit. Laid-back and cool, likes to chill a lot. He also wields blue sulfuric flames, which he loves showing off.
(to a group of spirits) Ey guys, check out these bad blue boys: My own sulfuric flames!
(chilling on the crater rim) The daylight is the time to relax, but at night, it is the time to blaze it up blue
Japanese volcano spirit. One of the members of the Supers at a power level 7. Really hates Sakura thinking she's taking over her home and wants her evicted. The hatred especially increased when Sakura and Britley became a couple
(watching Sakura and Britley) REALLY? 2 SPIRITS AT MY CALDERA?! They really think they own the place when they do not!
(pacing around) I should maybe call the other Supers, and then that way Sakura can leave this place without thinking of returning!
Ecuadorian volcano spirit. Tends to be a bit wack and is also a pyromaniac. His name means exploder after all so there's that
(to a group of spirits) Yo I'm gonna light up some fireworks you wanna watch?
(to Stromboli) Do you mind if I help out with those candles? I can make them even brighter and much more WILD!
Filipino volcano spirit. A big risk-taker, but does learn from any consequences. Tends to get electrifying with the volcanic lightning.
(confronting the Supers) I have lightning rods within my hands, and I will not be hesitant to strike you all down should you step any closer!
(after coming back harmed from a big risk he took) Well, that's going to be a cringe memory people will be bringing up..
Icelandic volcano spirit. Has a secondary job as an aircraft carrier and can manipulate and mold the ash into workable airplanes for spirits to take flight in.
(in pilot mode) Welcome to Eyja's Ash-Flights! Spirits get on board and I shall take you all to your destination!
(after hitting turbulence) Wooph! That was certainly some turbulence there.. At least not to where this plane will crash
(with Katla) I'm sure the engines are stable enough for us to fly far, don't worry!
Icelandic subglacial volcano spirit. Plays the role of Eyja's co-pilot for her ash-flights, but is much more cautious in the matter
(checking engine) I'm not sure if this will work well..
(to Eyja doubting the current location) You sure we're at the right place? It doesn't look like the exact destination
African/Congolese volcano spirit. Chaos and mischief almost always on the books for her and never thinks before speaking and/or acting. She's super speedy as well, having the ability to run up to 60 miles an hour
(teasing a Super before speeding off) Hey you, catch me if you can~!
(when another spirit told her to not be chaotic) Aw come on man, let me just have a little fun!
(asked about the eyepatch) This was from a blowout I had, ok? Don't question it
A human from the Yorkshire town of Jayside (fictional town) who has befriended the volcano spirits, mainly Britley. He's willing to explain the human things to these spirits as well. Has a girlfriend named Zoe. Does tend to be a bit bossy on occasion, but for the most part he likes to have fun and will help others in need. Some say he wields some mysterious powers, but he isn't ready to reveal them yet... But who knows what exactly those powers may be...

British volcano spirit in the South Sandwich Islands. Likes to perform some healing yoga, especially at night with the moon out; it's considered alternative medicine for her. She also likes to take care of the animals on the island, especially the penguins
(with another spirit performing the healing yoga) Stretch your arms out like this, and you should start to feel the strain fade away
(feeding the penguins) Here you go little guys, fresh fish for you!
Nicaraguan volcano spirit. Competitive spirit who loves volcanic sandboarding and even holds annual races for sandboarding down his volcano.
(ready to race a group of spirits) Oh, it's on you guys!
(looking at his board) Y'know, I could possibly have alternative uses for this, like wacking the Supers
Nicaraguan volcano spirit. Half-sister of Telica. Peppy but can be susceptible to traps the Supers pull. Has a special interest in jazz and even has her own saxophone, albeit it hasn't been used in years.
(finds her saxophone) Ah, I was wondering where this thing was
(after defeating a Super) Woo! Finally got that baddie out of the way!
Nicaraguan volcano spirit. Half-sister of Masaya. More cautious in her approach to things. Has a bit of a special interest in detective stuff, even pulling some investigations if she finds something fishy in a situation
(investigating a situation) Hmm... Peculiar... Perhaps this was all just a trick...
(after being called a "Volcanic Sherlock") Volcanic Sherlock? Heh, I don't think I'm *that* skilled in these mysteries
Nicaraguan volcano spirit. More wary of their surroundings, hoping none of the Supers are around. Tries their hardest to be a pacifist, but when things get desperate, they resort to fighting
(when being told to fight) That goes against my principles! I just want this resolved in a nice manner!
(after being pushed to the limit by a Super, in this case Willow) You're going to regret crossing the lines I've told you not to cross madam..!
Italian volcano spirit. One of the Supers at a power level 8. Even though his main motive is to try and cause a volcanic winter, he also has this side-quest of stealing Etna away from Stromboli. He's also kind of quiet as well, making him more intimidating. If there's a competition involving spirits, he goes out of his way to cheat in it
(trying to flirt Etna) Hey Etna, perhaps I could try and light the fires for you~?
(intimidating another spirit) ...I'd rather have you stay away so you don't get hurt
(looking at a competition in the shadows) Nice contest there... Would be a shame if I rigged it
Icelandic volcano spirit. Leader/Mother-figure of the Icelandic Smalls family. Paranoid of the Supers, extra sensitive to trouble, and worried about the other members of the family
(to the other Smalls) Get behind me kids, this may be very unsafe...
(tending to Surtsey's injuries) You really gotta be more careful when doing these things Surtsey

Icelandic volcano spirit. The 'middle child' of the Icelandic Smalls. When with Surtsey, she always tries to bring up the concerns to him whenever he's about to do some risky stuff that would involve injury
(to Surtsey) You really need to have some protective clothes
(talking about Grada, Hunter, and Sunny) I'm really glad to be a big sister of the 3
Icelandic submarine volcano spirit. The oldest of the Icelandic Smalls. He's always up to take a risk at anything, but does try to learn from any injuries he ends up bringing onto himself. Most of the time he ignores the warnings

Canadian volcano spirit. One of the Supers with a power level of level 7. Tends to hide in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike the normal spirits. He can be a thief as well, stealing possessions belonging to them
(after stealing an item) Gotcha, it's now all mine!
(lurking and talking quietly, trying to hunt 2 spirits) Get in the field you 2... I promise I won't bite~
Icelandic volcano spirits. Tends to fly around with an ash trail behind her, and she has the role of a watchdog. She can send ash signals should danger appear in her sight
(rapidly flying by a spirit and leaving the trail) Sorry! I'm just trying to send the alert to someone!
(keeping watch) These Supers really want to cast their nasty tactics... But when I see them, I will call the others
(sending ash signal) CODE GRAY FOR DANGER, CODE GRAY FOR DANGER!
American volcano spirit. The main leader of the Supers with a power level of 8. Loves to mock the lower spirits, but can also lure them with "help" from her Super Tendrils, which she promises it boosts their level and power, but really, it's purely for control. She however can celebrate victory too early as well
(luring a spirit) How about a little pick-me-up for your abilities~?
(victorious at first only to realize she wasn't) YES! WE'VE GOT THEM ALL- *realization* ...OH COME ON!

New Zealander volcano spirit. One of the Supers with a power level of 8. He's willing to plan and set up traps to frame the normal spirits for acts they have not committed
(to a spirit mockingly after a successful trap) Ooooh the guardians are going to be mad at you~!
