The Siblings Of The Shard: Podcast seeking VAs and Editor (urgent)
Project Overview
(I had this casting call on its own separate account, but I’m putting it up on this account now)
Hi! I’m looking for a few people to help me out with a concept I’ve been working I’m for the past year or so. I’m hoping to make it into a podcast for YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. I‘m hoping for this to become something similar to The Dragon Prince. This is unpaid for now, but I hope to monetize the show so I can pay you in the future.
Plot:
In the beginning, there was a crystal that held all the magic in the land of Astromel. One day, the Crystal split, and found its way to the leader of each race. The Phoenix Empire (the only race consisting of Phoenixes and Humans) got the Sun shard, and the human kingdom got the Moon shard. The deerling tribe got the shard of ice, the Wolven kingdom got the shard of earth, the selkie clan got the shard of water, and the dragon alliance got the shard of wind. The crystals each created elves, magical creatures that were created to assist each race.
Centuries later, the Prince of The human kingdom is missing, and the emperess has turned the elves into slaves. Extracting their essence to make her younger and more powerful, and using them for her bidding. She’s even stolen elves from other races for this.
In Modern day Astromel, the children of the leader of the Dragon Alliance are both feeling lost. Edmund, has been left feeling torn between staying in their Capital of Obrea, and going to search for his birth mother in Blaesal, the human Capital (due to his adoption). Meanwhile, Ursa, at only 14, is troubled at the pain and suffering she sees in the elves. She desperately wants to help, but knows that she’s only a child. She feels useless.
However, life takes a turn when their elf friend, Elmory, finds an injured ShadowBlade elf. He introduces himself as Cederic, and tells them he was sent by the original crystal keeper, the Mother of all Dragons, to find the Siblings. Edmund is initially hesitant, but Ursa is ecstatic so they agree. She tells them of a prophecy that they are destined to fulfil. The Siblings go off on a thrilling adventure to find one of every elf and find the legendary Startouched one. But along the way they uncover a mystery that dates back to when the crystal was created.
Audition requirements:
- Have patience and be committed. This will be a long running project, and i’ll Be writing all scripts.
- Make sure your recordings are clear with little to no background noise.
- Have a discord because that’s the site we’ll be using to get to know each other and stay connected.
- If you don’t get a part, stay connected. I’ll be assigning roles as I see fit and I’ll add more roles as the series progresses. For now, these are just the leads and minor characters in episode 1. If you have a small character in episode one, you’ll also be asked to play other minor characters throughout the series.

Elmory is a close friend of Ursa and Edmund. He accompanied The pair on their adventure and serves as the Skywing elf. He’s energetic, kind, blunt and naive.
He has a high to medium voice, that’s very gentle.
(Calling in worry) Guys! We’ve got a situation here!
(Gently, Kindly) If anyone can do it, it’s you guys.
(A bit nervously) Yeah.... I guess that could work. Just give me a moment.
The mother of all dragons is the original crystal keeper, and the Startouched one is a person who is in touch with all shards of the crystal.
Both of them have a low, wise voice.
(As the Mother Of all dragons) Approach child. Face the mother of all dragons.
(As the Startouched one, weakly) hello, child... welcome to the Monastery of the Spark...
The Empress is the main villain. She’s truly vile and is a master of manipulation. She uses her own children fir her own gain and dreams of conquering all of Astromel.
She has a medium-high voice.
(Angrily) You idiot. You absolute failure!
(Tsks) we will not be brought down by his insolence.
A 15 year old draconian girl, and the youngest child of the leader of the dragon alliance. She is brave, determined and empathetic. She has a lot compassion in her heart, and is somewhat stubborn. She’s the secondary protagonist.
I’m looking for a high to medium pitched voice. One that fits a teenaged girl, and that’s a bit tomboyish.
(Groans in annoyance) aw, come on big brother. Climbing one tree is not going to hurt me. (Scoffs, teasingly) you’re so over protective.
(Excitedly, urging her brother) Come on, big bro!! Don’t you want to see what she wants? Don’t you want to go on a grand fantastic adventure?!
(Gently, lovingly) It’s lovely up here, isn’t it Cederic?
Edmund is Ursa’s 21 year old adopted brother, and our main protagonist. He’s the only human living within the alliance and is extremely insecure about it. He’s gentle and kind, and absolutely fearless. He can get anxious and nervous but very protective of those he loves. He’s also gay, and his main love interest is Genji.
He has a medium to low voice, and has a gentle British or Scottish accent.
(Angrily) Ursa, There you are! Get down from there before you break something!
(Nervously) Me? Like, me, me? The dragon queen wants to see me? (Laughs nervously, anxiously) oh good crystal.
(Gently, clearly in love) Genji, you’re not unseen. I know I’m just a human, and this might never work out, but....(pauses) I see you. More clearly than I see anything else.
Chenoa is the daughter of the Cheif Of The deerling tribe. She is the also the finest, most skilled warrior they have. She is the only friend and sole caretaker of a sickly IceBlizzard elf named Chaska.
She has a medium to low female voice. She has a voice somewhat like H’aaint from Octopath Traveler.
(Defensively) Halt! Who goes there? You face the only daughter of Cheif Adahy, the Keeper Of The Ice Shard.
(Chuckles) You...are a good one. Perhaps if the world were a bit different, there would be more humans like you.
(Fearfully) Chaska, please! (Gently) Do not strain yourself, my friend. Try to breathe. I’m right here.
Winona is the daughter of a high Nobel in the selkie clan. She’s close with an RainBlood elf named Torrent that she saved from a cruel Phoenix Nobel. She is calm, collected and has astringent sense of justice.
She has a medium-high voice,
(Giggles) You need not fear me, human. I will not harm you, dear.
(Tsks) Patience, young draconian, patience.
(Growls) Damn all those feathered freaks to the depths of the deep!
Cederic is a ShadowBlade elf that was working as an emissary of The Mother Of All Dragons. He’s only 15 years old. He’s quiet, kind and gentle. He’s quite formal and a tad bit timid. He carries the magic of the moon and shadows within his veins and is Ursa’s eventual love interest.
He has a medium to high voice, and it’s gentle and warm.
(Weakly, coughs) are....(coughs) are you... Edmund and...Ursa... Eristotle?
(Kindly) I never got to introduce myself. I’m Cederic. Pronounced Sea-Dur-Ick. I’m an emissary of her radiance, the Mother Of All Dragons.
(Fearfully) You’re sending me away? Why? Haven’t I been a good emissary? Did...did I do something wrong?
Genji is a Wolven peasant. He leads the gang to the EarthBlossom elf. He’s strong, kind, and stubborn. He’s also immediately enamoured with Edmund.
He has a very kind and gentle voice. His voice is medium to low.
(Defensive) Who goes there?! Show yourself!
(Protectively) If anything happened to you, Edmund would never forgive me.
(Gently, enamoured) You are...just so utterly enchanting, Edmund.
Blaise is a fire elf that Basil freed accidentally in his escape. He now joins him on his adventure to seek out the Startouched one. He has a small part in episode 1.
He has a medium tone voice that’s strong and protective.
(Protectively) Basil, get behind me.
(Scoffs) Why should I trust you?
Chaska is an iceblizzard elf. Though he is weak and is prone to illness, he is adamant to do something for once and join Ursa and Edmund on their journey. He is close with Chenoa, and appreciates her despite her being a bit stubborn at times.
He has a gentle, high voice.
(Desperately) Wait! I want to go with you!
(Frightened) Oh shard....Oh shard....we’re gonna die,....we’re gonna (breaks into coughing fit)
(Chuckling) Oh, don’t mind her. She can be a bit grumpy, but she really means well.
Torrent is a jaded RainBlood elf. He joins the crew with Winona so that he can get revenge on the empress for draining and killing his siblings (all nine of them). He is determined, quiet and reserved.
He has a low voice, that sounds jaded and quiet.
(Scoffs) You don’t know me.
(Angrily) Honestly, how could you ever sympathize?!
(Gently) I....I do care for you, Chaska. Which is why you must slow down and rest. If need be, I will stay with you, but pushing yourself will only make it worse.
Everest is an EarthBloom elf. she has a lot of Disney princess qualities and is very kind and gentle. She agrees to come on the journey because of her love for Astromel, and her fascination with humans.
She has a high to medium voice, and sounds somewhat like a Disney princess. (Think Rapunzel or Anna).
(Surprised) Oh! Well, hello there! I’m Everest!
(Sadly) You’ve...seen a lot of sadness... haven’t you Edmund?
(Gently) We’ll figure it out. As a team.
Twili is a StarLight elf, one of the last of her kind. She’s been the Startouched one’s assistant for as long as she can remember. She is submissive, kind, and loyal.
She has a high, Kindly voice.
(Eagerly) Yes, your eminence.
(Confused)Whatever do you mean?
Prince Basil is the Phoenix prince. He’s half human. He accidentally freed an elf which caused his mom to banish him. He is now on the run, trying to find the Startouched one to help him find a new place in the world and how to restore his mother’s faith in him. He is anxious, nervous and very uncertain.
His voice is medium to high and has a nervous tone. He has a British accent.
(Nervously) Are you sure about this?
(Begging in desperation) Mother, please no! Please, please, reconsider!
(Solemnly) I no longer have a place in my own family.
Jacob is a human guard that worked for the empire. After seeing how awfully Basil was treated and watching him be banished, he joined the prince to protect him as they venture to the Startouched one. He is what people call a himbo. He’s strong and good looking, but relatively gullible. He always means well, though.
He has a low, knightly voice.
(Seriously) I stayed because you’re the only reasonable person in that palace.
(Sadly) I never wanted to hurt people.
(Calmly) I’m not an idiot, I’m just dumb.
