PLOT SUMMARY

After being confessed to by his crush, Tachibana, Fujiwara finds himself in complete bliss. When faced with such a joyful occasion, one would normally accept the confession immediately. However, Tachibana's method of confession is quite peculiar—she tries to show her love by handing him a wad of money! Reluctant about exchanging money for love, Fujiwara turns down the offer. Thus begins Tachibana's adorable attempts at gaining Fujiwara's affection. [Synopsis from MAL] 


GENERAL INFORMATION

Hey there! I'm AceTember, a small content creator who has dabbled a bit in manga fan dubbing, and would like to do more with it. This, then, is my second manga dub project: a casting call for the 3 chapters of Sukidakedo Sukidakara Uketorenai, or The Girl I Like Confessed to Me While Handing Me Cash! This project will be uploaded to my Youtube channel, and shouldn't be too much of a time commitment due to the manga's short length (though please still put your best foot forward). If you still would like to get more of a feel for this project, please see my previous manga fandub for reference. Anyway, I look forward to hearing your auditions and working with some of you!

Tachibana is bit of an unfathomable character. She doesn't quite get the whole confession thing, but nevertheless tries her best to express her feelings to the male lead—by offering him money. She's a bit shy, but is also quite honest (sometimes to a fault), and can be very sweet. Be prepared to switch between a regular tone, an embarrassed tone, and a more rushed matter-of-fact tone a few times for this role.

  • (Very matter-of-factly) You have unhealthy, pale-looking skin, and your limbs seem like they could break at any moment, but you're a hard worker at your job and you eat frugally... your uniform and bag are old too, so I figured that you're probably poor...

  • (Flustered and a bit overcome with emotion) I'm so happy... your words are giving me a lump in my throat. I can't show my gratitude without using money!

  • (Pitching her confession like a product advertisement; a tiny bit flustered, but pushing forward) B-but wait, there's more! You can also take from the soup bar until your stomach is full! Going out with me would be a great idea. What do you think? Will you accept my feelings?

Fujiwara is a poor but hardworking student who happens to be confessed to by the girl he has a crush on. He's caught off guard, though, when she tries to give him money as a part of the confession, which leads to him attempting but struggling to set things straight—conveying his feelings honestly while declining the money. Be prepared to switch between a regular tone, a serious tone, and a slightly flustered but sincere tone a few times for this role.

  • (Disoriented, somewhat stern) That's not the problem! I'd get it if it was a letter, but... why are you giving me money while you confess?! Do you think I'd date someone just because they gave me money?!

  • (Honest, trying to get his real feelings through) I don't need things like money. Even before you confessed, I... have always been attracted to the mysterious Tachibana-san... These are my feelings. I cherish you! 

  • (Initially flustered and caught off guard, then awestruck) Tachibana-san?! So this is where you work?! How should I put it... Your uniform! You look super cute! I had a different image but... you have this aura, and you're a diligent worker... Amazing!
