The Fitzroy Puppet Theatre

The Fitzroy Puppet Theatre

Project Overview

Opening auditions for a narrator for the audio version of my first indie novel, The Fitzroy Puppet Theatre. The story is a blend of science fiction and drama, taking place on a distant planet. Despite the setting, the story is largely a drama involving the run away son of a mob boss trying to duck his relatives in a new town while moonlighting as a puppeteer. The story involves light language, dramatic violence, and minor horror sequences.

The novel is 99, 622 words long and clocks in at 6hrs and 38 minutes of read time, as calculated by the app I used to write it in. (Reedsy).

Please, no auditions modified or made with A.I.

Latest Updates

  • Curtain Fall!

    Hello again, everyone!

I am sorry for the delay, and I didn't want to write another update for you all without good reason. After careful deliberation, I cut down the prime candidates and still had a handful! I then made sure to carefully interview each promising candidate, a process that has taken a some time. After the interviews, I was still left with a long list! You are all so very talented, and I was spoiled for choice!

This is my first audio book of my first novel, so I took every care and consideration and it ended up taking longer than I initially meant it to. For that I apologize, but today the role is finally cast to Baby Cakes!

To everyone who submitted and everyone I interviewed, thank you so much for your time and I do hope we can work together at some point in the future! I can assure you that my next attempt at a project should come with less missteps and bumbling!

  • Second Week Finished!

The second week of the project is over now and the deadline draws near! Again, I would like to thank all of you who submitted your auditions to the project! There has been so much response to this project! Far more than I was expecting! I have remained diligent in combing through your submissions throughout the week and there are still so many more to listen to!

Due to the sheer number of submissions I still have to vet through, I can no longer say for certain the role will be assigned by the end of today, but instead tomorrow on the 15th of August.

Thank you all again for your overwhelming response to this project!

  • First Week Done!

Hello, all! Today is Friday, meaning the first week is officially passed! First and foremost, I would like to thank you all for your auditions and for those who merely peeped in on the project. It has been very exciting to see so much response to this and going through so many auditions! While not every audition was what I needed for this current project, I have made sure to Follow some of you in hopes that you will be open to working with me on future projects! The Chronicles of the Kel'Yght Galaxy is a long running series, ( five books so far ) and ideally, I would love to have audio books made for all of them.

On that note, I would also like to express my sincerest gratitude with your patience with me as I learn to navigate this website and this business in general. I apologize for important details that were left out of the project's description initially, such as my stance on A.I. While I requested no A.I. auditions or demos tweaked with A.I., I will also state that I have no intention of using your voices for A.I. nor will I feed any samples to any A.I. engines and I am willing to sign the form on it.

Right now there are a handful of very promising demos. It will be very difficult to choose just one, but I plan to have the role assigned by the 14th. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me via Casting Call Club.

    Thank you, all again!
