Luna is a lead role. Raised by an overprotective adopted mother, is a new college student reveling in her newfound independence. Her major is Spell Theory, and she wants to transfer to a magic school in another country, Lunari. She's Lunari but was raised on So'larre. She grew up loving Lunari culture because it puts creativity, learning, and magic on a pedestal. She wants to move there someday to embrace it fully. She plays guitar and can tell you almost anything about music. She's confident, creative, loves to learn and explore, and thinks outside the box. She's reckless, impulsive, and a bit temperamental. Her ADHD and curiosity make a deadly combination, regularly getting her sidetracked and in trouble; rushing into situations without thinking beforehand; her fatal flaw. This causes her to clash with Terra, who is almost the complete opposite. Her love of learning will cause her to quickly bond with Cosmos, who shares that love.

Cosmos is a lead role. He is assumed powerless, but there is definitely something strange about him. Cosmos is a historian raised in a cult, "The Inevitable." (Aka the Corruption) The Inevitable/Corruption is based on Acropha, a planet separate from Etherium, created by Maltor, the god they worship. The Corruption, for reasons not yet none, kidnapped him when he was four and erased what little memories he had. The children, "cadets", in the corruption are trained in many different duties from birth. Because he's not as strong or ruthless as his peers he's always been perceived as weak, and he believes it. Cosmos, despite his upbringing, has a love for people and life. This makes him incredibly uncomfortable with the idea of murder; he can't imagine ending somebodies life knowing that they're a real person with interests, hobbies, friends, etc. He's not physically strong either, being tall and lanky, thus he focused on other skills during his cadet training. There wasn't much effort put into teaching cadets about history, but he fell in love with what little he had. It very quickly became his hyperfixation. When the cadets turn 13 they all take place in a final test to see where their skills excel and where they should be placed. Knowing he'd be miserable in most jobs, he purposely threw the tests so he would be put in the archive. His current job is to research Etherian history to help the Inevitable eliminate the Champions, but typically it's spent organizing records. Because of his job and demeanor he's not taken seriously. His friends, Orion and Leo, strong, higher ranking fighters, regularly have to come to his rescue.

He spends most of his time reading and talking to his pet crow. He's very intelligent, gentle, and empathetic.

Kai is a main role. He's from Syrenia but was forced to move to So'larre with his aunt after the tragic death of his parents. His aunt was an absent workaholic who wasn't prepared to be a parent. For the entirety of his childhood and teens he was a quiet kid with no friends. He was good at surfing, taught by his father, and managed to get a spot on his high school team. His team mates treated him like shit; they had high expectations of him and harassed him when he couldn't meet them. He got sick of So'larre. He managed to get a sports scholarship to Halo University; he accepted knowing it was a good school with a good job turnout. His major is social work. He's a quiet person who rarely talks about himself and a great listener. He's the emotional glue of the team; the only thing keeping Luna and Terra from ripping each other's throats out; the therapist friend. He's calm, kind, and empathetic, but is shy and hates drawing attention to himself.

Terra is a main role. They want to analyze the potential untapped healing properties of plants, thus her major is pharmacology and she studies botany on her own time. They're a very practical person, sometimes to her own detriment. They often refuse to do things if they determine they don't make sense. This causes her and Luna to clash often. She doesn't have many friends but it's by her own choice. She prefers to spend her time alone studying or reading. Don't tell anyone, but they're secretly obsessed with y/a fantasy novels. She's not social and her cold analytical nature can make her seem mean. Deep down she does have a soft spot, it just takes time to get to know her.

Zephyr is a main character. He is the only character with two elements. His parents are a successful author and engineer, thus he comes from money. He's a little spoiled, but he knows it and doesn't flaunt his wealth. He comes from a big family; seven kids; and he's the middle child. On top of that, he's the only member of his family that doesn't have wings, so he's felt left out for some time. His parents love him like all of their other children, but he's insecure. He grew up an attention seeker. Then he fell in love with drama in high school, and everything fell into place. He quickly decided he wanted to go pro. Caelpatrium didn't have many good options for studying acting so he applied to Halo Uni. He's a musical theatre major! He also loves fashion, so his technical focus is costume design. He's very friendly and extroverted, but bad at reading rooms. He’s an airhead, but means well. He’s the loudest of the group.

In Cosmos, Leo, and Orion's trio, Orion could be considered the leader. She's a natural born leader and incredibly skilled in combat, hence why she is Alastor's apprentice and successor. She's headstrong, courageous, and very protective of her friends; she met them defending them from bullies. This is part because she cares for them, and partially because she knows how rare real friends are in Acropha. They've stuck by her side her entire life and fully supported her transition, so she knows she can't lose them. She looks up to Alastor as a sort of father figure. Like her, he is transgender and helped her navigate what she was feeling and helped her transition. She takes her job and duties very seriously, but in her free time she's the opposite. She regularly jokes around with and teases Cosmos and Leo; she was quite the prankster when she was a kid.

Leo is best friends with Orion and Cosmos. They're his only friends. Leo is a werewolf; a rare phenomenon considered by most Etherians to be a myth. Out of shock, Leo was presumably abandoned by his family. No one knows who his family was and he couldn't care less. He was raised instead by wolves. This was his life until he was attacked and blinded by an animal in the forest. Lilith and her team were escaping after an assassination and luckily found him. Lilith took pity on him and took him back to Acropha. From a very young age he felt a need to prove himself to her, as he likely would've died in that forest without her. Being a brand new blind kid with a tail and who could barely speak, he was a prime target for bullying. Orion and Cosmos defended him. Cosmos, being Cosmos, thought his wolf ancestry was insanely cool and quickly became his friend. Leo quickly realized if he wanted to be a good fighter he'd need to find a way to work around his blindness. His wolf, Dante, acts as a service dog, and he relies on his enhanced hearing and scent to "feel" a battlefield. He worked his way up the ranks and became one of the best cadets; a killing machine, hence why he's Lilith's apprentice. He's been trained to be cold and unemotional, but his friends are the exception.

The grieving king of Lunari. He's had a rough life and childhood. (Like ROUGH, like "Jesus what was I on when I was crafting his backstory" rough.) He didn't have a good relationship with his father, but it wasn't as bad as his twin brother's. He and his brother, Al, had a good relationship, but slowly drifted apart over the years due to their father's favoritism of Callisto. He knew he was the favorite, hence why there was a lot of pressure for him to behave. He saw how Al was treated and worried about what would happen if couldn't keep up. He attended Lune's Light Academy, where he met Andre, his academic rival turned best friend. Andre introduced Callisto to his sister Sarah and he fell hard and fast for her. Shortly after this, Al, presumably, committed suicide. He was devastated and it took a long time for him to bounce back. Eventually he and Sarah got married and had two children; Sarah died giving birth to the second; leaving him shaken and shattered. He tried to cling to his children, but they disappeared six months later.

In the present day, he's managed to "keep it together." He's a good king, he's dedicated to the magic he's studied his whole life and quite skilled at it. He's compassionate, kind, and wise. However, he's struggling. He's been searching for his children and trying to thwart the Corruption. His weak spot is his family.

Alastor is one of the main villains. He embodies the lust for destruction. He was the prince of Lunari and Callisto's twin brother. Their father was emotionally neglectful and abusive, as well as physically towards Alastor. Their mother was a neglectful pushover who never stood up for them. The Lunari royal family's reputation is heavily built on magical ability, which Alastor had none of. Callisto was therefore the favorite which slowly drove a rift between Alastor (Or "Al" at the time), Callisto, and his father. His father also wasn't supportive of him being transgender, meaning he couldn't transition until much later in his life. Over time his life, relationships, mental health, and world view deteriorated to the point where he was suicidal. He viewed the world as cruel and hypocritical and wanted no part in it. He'd written a suicide note and planned to jump off a bridge, but was stopped last minute. Maltor offered him a chance to start over. Alastor took it and dissapeared into the night, the world assuming he was dead. 

He's Maltor's right hand man. He is the head of all military operations. His power is to open small portals and destroy small objects. He typically uses his portals to deflect attacks. He doesn't like Micah or Lilith and does his best to avoid them. He hates Lilith; seeing through her facade. However, he too puts on a fake face. His facade is cold, unfeeling, uncaring, and intimidating.

Andre is the Weaving Theory professor at Halo University. He graduated from Lune’s Light Academy, making him a fully fledged witch. While studying there he met Callisto; they became academic rivals and then best friends. He introduced Callisto to Sarah, his sister. He fully supported their relationship but teased them about it. He and Sarah had a good relationship, they teased each other and fought, but they were good friends who could confide in each other. They had a good childhood. Their father was So’larrian and their mother was Lunari, so they grew up with an appreciation for both of the conflicting cultures. Andre was very comfortable with his mixed identity and did his best to help Sarah feel the same. He was also good friends with Alastor and Scarlett, and was upset at Alastor’s death. He and Sarah did their best to comfort Callisto. His life was overall good. What threw a wrench in his life was Sarah’s sudden death. Suddenly he had to process his own grief and be a shoulder to cry on for Callisto. This caused him to push his problems down to help his loved ones. Eventually he took a step back to focus on himself. He quickly learned he was more interested in teaching magic than using it, so he became a teacher. Overall, he’s a calm, cool, charismatic guy. He’s well liked by most of his students and has a passion for what he teaches. He tries to stay out of trouble (I.e., Scarlett and Callisto’s business).

Scarlett is the leader of the Elementa, an organization dedicated to fighting the Corruption if they resurface and the Champions are unavailable. Over time they became an organization that works with the Champions and occasionally provides training to them. Her parents had a military background, that’s how they met, and she wanted to follow in their footsteps. She practiced various styles of combat throughout her childhood and excelled. She eventually went to a military academy where she met Alastor, who was there to please his father. They were great friends and got along with Callisto and his friends. Eventually they started dating but to say they were better as friends was an understatement. Their breakup was rough and they didn’t talk for a long time afterwards. She was shocked by the news of his supposed suicide but didn’t blame herself. She had and still has a “you can’t control anyone, their decisions are their own” mentality, and it works very well for her. However, it means she doesn’t accept blame when someone’s actions are actually her fault. She moved on with her life and became a soldier in Terraria’s army, until Callisto reached out to her and asked her to join the Elementa. She quickly moved up the ranks and became the head of the organization with Callisto’s recommendation. She takes her job very seriously. She’s a no-nonsense, take no crap, get work done fast leader. She’s efficient and ruthless.

Lilith is one of the main villains. Lilith embodies the lust for power. In her past, she was always stripped of any power she had. Something happened that made her snap and caused her to join the Corruption. Maltor saw potential in her and made her third in command; second to Alastor. She's the head assassin. Her job is to kill high profile Etherians who cause too much trouble for the Corruption. She has the power to physically control the bodies of anybody, all she needs is their blood. The more blood she has, the more control she has. She despises Alastor as he is the only person above her. Slowly but surely she is trying usurp him. She has a decent relationship with Micah. Most of the time they spend together is spent talking crap about people. She'd likely turn on Micah if necessary, but she hasn't seen any reason to. Out of the three villains, she's the coldest, cruelest, and most uncaring. She doesn't have a genuine relationship with anyone. Leo, her apprentice, was chosen  for his skill, but partially because she like novelty of him. She found it amusing that he was so skilled rather than admiring his skill. She trained him to be cold and uncaring without regard to the effect that would have on him. She's extremely prideful. The easiest way to trigger her is to talk down to her.

Micah is the third villain of the series, however this will not be revealed in the first season. Micah is the founder of GoldLeaf, a new and surprisingly popular tech company. She’s very charismatic and is widely believed to be a kind and generous person. However she’s gotten into recent controversy due to a whistleblower exposing the poor working conditions. They haven't been heard from since. In reality, she is a member of the Corruption, and an important one too. She is the only major leader who isn’t trapped on Acropha. Her job is to facilitate all activity on Etherium. Currently she and her “employees” are focused on finding the Champions. She also provides the energy necessary to open portals from Acropha to Etherium. She’s good at maintaining her double life, but she made the mistake of getting married. Now she has to hide from her wife, Naomi, and her stepdaughter, Terra; who hates her. She doesn’t have an apprentice as there is no worry about her dying in battle. Most of her lines will be edited with a pitch changer to distort her voice.

Formerly the god of balance, Maltor was blamed by his fellow gods for the flaws and corruption in their creations. He was cast out of the heavens and stripped of his physical form, making him a weak, shapeless puddle of energy. Out of rage, he swore revenge and became the very thing he was perceived as, the god of corruption. He's been fighting the war for thousands of years and has no intention of stopping any time soon. Though physically weak, he uses his energy to fuel his followers and make them strong. To keep his followers isolated and to ensure he would forever have an army, he created his own planet, Acropha. Maltor will serve as the looming threat and final boss of the series. The role is small in season one however. I want the voice to be distorted, this will be done on my end.

Earth is the god of, unsurprisingly, earth and nature. He created the base for Etherium, the country Terraria, it's people, and it's creatures. He's associated with deer. He admires mortals who stick to their ideals. Despite being a god, it's a minor role.

Aqua is the goddess of water. She created Etherium's oceans, Syrenia, its people and its creatures. She's commonly associated with jellyfish and other aquatic creatures. She admires mortals that can remain calm under pressure and value peace. Despite being a goddess, this is a minor role.

Caelum is the god of storms, wind, lightning, and the sky. Legend has it he won control over lightning in a game with the fire god. Caelum created the skies, Caelpatrium, its people, and creatures. He admires mortals who love fun and try to stay on the bright side of life. To balance out earth and water, he normally gives mortals control over wind OR lightning. But there are rare exceptions. This, like the other gods, is a minor role.

Luna's adopted mother and successful museum curator. She's a good mother, but overbearing and overprotective. She's been dismissive of Luna's moth visions for a long time, writing them off as hallucinations and taking Luna to doctors to prove it. However perhaps she knows more than she's letting on.

Luna's annoying little brother. He likes teasing her and vice versa. Secretly, he's worried about her leaving. He loves his mom, but he doesn't want to be alone. He believes Luna's stories about her visions and it worries him. He likes bugs and robotics.
