Millie is a student at Greenwich Private College. She is outgoing, kind, and easy to get along with. She is the first of the girls to disappear for eleven years. I imagine her voice to be slightly deep and friendly sounding.
(excited, friendly) I'm having a party in my dorm tonight! Twelve o'clock invites only!
(dazed, disconnected, as if under a spell) I'm going to sleep...It's late...The party's over.
If there was someplace you can go where time will stand still and everyone will always remember you as you are now, wouldn't that be wonderful? If such a place existed?
Millie's best friend. Schala enjoys telling spooky stories and scaring her classmates. She's a bit of a know-it-all and she is quick to anger. When she's mad, she can be cruel. She takes it very hard when Millie disappears. Her voice should be slightly nasally and pompous.
(annoyed) We're not trying to "summon" anything. And I don't appreciate being called "stupid" either.
(telling a scary story) They say deep at night, on the other side of that sealed door, hands. Many hands. Living or dead I cannot say. It's a place fraught with secrets. But that's not all...you see.........BOO! (laughter)
(angry, disgusted) Why couldn't you have died instead of her?
Miss Anu (pronounced Ah-new) is a teacher a Greenwich Private College. She is strict and intimidating to the other students. Secretly, she has been investigating the school and the many disappearances of girls over the years. As she knows what it's like to lose a friend at the school, she's very understanding and helpful when Millie disappears. Her voice should be deep and commanding. Very teacher-like.
(scolding) Three demerit points for talking back to a teacher. Each!
(kind, gentle) Hello, Amber. I'm Miss Anu. Your sister tells me you've been feeling ill. I'd like to help you in any way I can.
(panicking slightly) Wait, what's this about an axe?......I know about it; now what about this axe?!
Mrs Skeener is the Vice Principal of Greenwich Private College. She is a shrill and angry old woman who has lived at the school for most of her life. A lot of mystery surrounds her, and she has a strange phobia of twins and won't allow them in her school. I would like her voice to be shrill and accusing. It would also be lovely if you could give her a British accent.
(Angry, demanding) Twins! Twin sisters! I knew it! How did you two get in here?! Who let you into this school?!
(demanding) Have you two noticed anything strange lately? If you don't know then leave!
(defeated, dazed) It's over...It's over...It's happening all over again, all over...It's all over.
Amber and Jeanie's aunt. She is the headmaster of Greenwich private college. She is very upbeat and positive, but doesn't like to be put on the spot. Her voice should be energetic, high pitched, and slightly older sounding.
(friendly and teasing) Heya, sweeties!! Tut tut you girls are late, late, late!
(uncharacteristically serious) This'll sound odd but...don't tell anyone you and Amber are twins, okay?
(embarrassed) Sweetie, I missed you! I want to be here, but this is work, and I have other family commitments as well!
Fellow student. Gabrielle is at Millie's party and is the one who convinces Jeanie to do the mirror dare. She is slightly annoying and happens to show up at the worst times. Her voice should be sort of annoying, medium pitch.
(playfully dramatic) You'll have to do....The Mirror Dare!
(annoyed, taken aback) Eh? Geez what's your problem? I was just saying hi!
Trevor is a fellow classmate at Greenwich private college. He pretends to be interested in art to impress girls. However, he divulges some useful information to the protagonist. His voice is masculine.
(friendly) Hey, I'm Trevor. A friend of Millie's. I'll be taking you two to class.
I act all artistic mostly to impress other people...namely girls.
This is an extra role, but I may have you do many extra characters if you're up for it.
(cold, blunt) Exactly what are we looking for?
(angry) We're never going to see Millie again, are we?
(sadly) Real blood wouldn't have been so bad. Perhaps it would have meant some form of closure.
Another extra role who can be multiple characters.
(quietly) Is the school going to be shut down?
Hardly anyone left. How boring.
(a little frightened) There's a girl in her nightgown outside the school, in the rain. Just standing there.
