Project Overview
The Dorm Room Cat-Girl is a 66k-word debut novel in the genre of Romantic Comedy, with more comedy than romance. It follows a Blue-Haired, Cat-Eared heroine who is trying to learn how to be human!
Our hero, Aiya, gets saved by a high school boy named Hiroshi. But one fateful night she gets turned from a cat into a Human by a Cat-God! The Cat-God says that she died, but she may have a second chance at life if she can collect some love-magic by getting Hiroshi to fall in love with her! However, this turns out to be tougher than she thought when she realizes she has to compete with Murasaki Kurosawa, a rich American Child-Actress who used to be Hiroshi's childhood friend.
What we're looking for is a female narrator for the book. One who can voice 6 different characters as well as express fun, sadness, anger, and arrogance.
There are 6 main characters:
- Aiya The Cat-Girl - a cat that values herself more than anything, she's just a bit over her head
- Hiroshi Kato - a soccer playing cool kid that's ultra kind, but holds a curious grudge
- Murasaki Kurosawa - a prim and proper rich girl who finds Aiya annoying
- Emiko Tachibana - a very helpful senior who's incredibly bubbly
- Ritsu Tachibana - the mysterious former friend of Hiroshi and Murasaki, he's a tech genius, but he's also a hermit
- Toshi! The Mouse - a helpful mouse assistant to Aiya with a fear of humans, but will do anything for his Boss

[Narrator]: Kasumi Academy: an elite private high school in northern Tokyo that prides itself by only accepting students in possession of special academic, artistic, or athletic talents. The wealth of students graduating from this academy numbers in the hundreds of billions; producing star athletes, top CEOs, and millionaire artists.
[Aiya and Hiroshi talk in class]:
"OH!" Aiya exclaimed. "And check this out! Emiko told me about this awesome thing my smartphone can do!"
"You had a smartphone?"
"I had one for some time now, but I didn't know what to use it for, ha-ha..." Aiya said with a half-wide grin. She pulled the phone out of her schoolbag, played around with the screen for a bit, then held it up for Hiroshi. "See? It's this new game called Tetris! Have you ever heard of it? You stack these blocks together and when they all line up, they disappear and you get points!"
[Murasaki confronting Aiya when they're in a bathhouse]:
Murasaki stood up. “Listen, I’ve been telling you a lot about me. Why don’t we talk about who you are, Aiya.”
“W-what do you mean?”
“Don’t think I haven’t been paying attention! You know what? I’ll tell you about the postcard! But first let me ask you: where did you come from? Why haven’t I seen you in the girls dorms? Why are you so interested in Hiroshi, of all people? Why are you wearing a cat-tail in a BATH? HOW’S IT EVEN CONNECTED!? Can you answer those questions? They’re just 5 simple questions!”
