The Disastrous Life of Saiki K S2 Fandub - Casting Kaidou and Nendo + seeking editors!
Project Overview
What is this project?
I'm continuing to create an English dub for chapters from Saiki K's second season. I'm only casting Kaidou, Nendo, and a few female extras right now, as well as editors and audio engineers to help with post-production. Actors should be open to reprising their roles for each chapter they're in. (The recording schedule is very flexible.)
What is the Disastrous Life of Saiki K about?
It's a comedy anime about a teenage boy named Kusuo Saiki who has psychic abilities. He just wants to live a quiet, normal life, but he unintentionally attracts the attention of multiple people with exuberant personalities who won't leave him alone. Between dealing with their antics and trying to keep his powers hidden, Saiki can never catch a break.
Who are you?
I am a film undergrad and big Saiki K fan. I have experience casting, directing, and editing short films, trailers, and other projects. I directed and edited the first chapter of this fandub and I'm excited to work on more!
What are the audition requirements?
You must be 16 or older, have a discord account, and a decent mic. And be careful that your audio doesn't peak.
What are the requirements for editors and audio engineers?
You must be 16 or older and have a discord account. Also, I'd like to know what software you're proficient in.
Should I do an impression of the original English dub actor?
I want you to do your whatever your own best version of the character is. I'm not looking for impressions, just a voice that fits the character well. I do think it would be a good idea to check out the original Japanese VA's performances though.
Can I audition for multiple roles?
Yes! You can audition for as many as you like!
What's the casting process going to be like?
I'll look through everyone's submissions as they come in, and if I like yours, I'll message you so we can schedule a call. In the call you'll perform a sample script and I'll give you some direction. I'll do that with a few people, then make the final casting decision.
What about the rest of the characters? Are you going to cast them too?
Some characters have already been cast such as Kusuo Saiki, his parents, Kusuke, and Teruhashi. As for the others; yes, I will cast them at some point in the future. If you're interested in a particular role that I'm not casting yet, keep an eye out. I'll update this post when I need more cast members.
Will you be sharing the dub?
Yes! I'll post a short promo for it to my YouTube channel (to avoid a takedown) and have a link to the full video in the description of that.

A socially awkward outcast. He has a hero complex and sometimes acts delusional, thinking he's the hero in a fantasy world he made up. When he's not doing his cool hero persona, he's very awkward, weak, and even childish at times. His voice should be somewhat reminiscent of a typical Shonen protagonist.
