The Dark Scourge- DND Recap
Project Overview
Hello! I am doing a recap of our DND campaign and this will likely be a very emotional thing for the group! I wanted all the NPCs they grew fond of to have a part. It will likely just be a paragraph or two but it will really bring everything to life. I want to surprise my players and hopefully make them feel like the characters are really real! King Waylond Valorant - An old and kind king who has two sons. He was a great but not perfect ruler in the time of a great scourge. His last thoughts were for his sons to have a better life and rule in peace.
I am thinking a voice similar to Sean Bean in Lord of the Rings- accent is not necessary but I would like an authoritative and wizened sound.

(Mournful, like a whisper)My wife, the last Oracle, Stellara, gifted me with two sons as the last great gift she did on this plane.
(Determined) As I became injured in battle against the dark scourge, my last wish was to divide the lands so that my sons may rule together.
(Hopeful) I left my sons to a war against the scourge but I hope they have all the tools they need to defeat it, together.
Ferah is the Oracle who has the ability to communicate with the gods through dreams. She tells the prophecy about one true king that leads to the war between brothers. She is a kind soul who is tragically killed to better another.
I am thinking of someone confident sounding with a deeper female voice
(Playful) The power to communicate with the gods through dreams found me when the last Oracle died. I grew up with their songs in my head and thought them friends before Gods
(Proud) During one of these times I was instructed that there is one true king.
(Disgusted) He accused me of colluding with Divinus (Div like divide - ah- ness)because he is my lover and trying to betray Bellator (Bell-ah-tore)
A powerful war and tactics king who is prideful and rules with might. He betrays his brother to claim the throne of all the lands for himself and rewrites history to make himself innocent.
(Spiteful) My brother never wanted to rule in the first place.
(Bored) He was absent more then he was ever present so it came as a great shock to see him at the meeting.
(Angry) I never thought he might think to challenge me for the throne.
Divinus is the healing brother who never wanted power but became nomadic and traveled the lands looking for a way to end the blight. He becomes cursed and banished from his castle and painted as the villain before his people.
(Hurt, painfully betrayed) I mourned my loss with such a heavy heart.
(Lost in thought) I wandered aimlessly around Eos as the villain my brother painted him to be
(Hopeful) I found a power unique to myself, the ability to absorb the Scourge into my body and cleanse it.
Mira is a bubbly tavern owner who was saved from thugs by the heros and named her tavern after them.
(Like a mother telling a bedtime story) Bellator rules and eventually dies, his body creating the gods to protect the people and the crystal he left behind.
(Proud) I owe the party my Tavern and the stories I whisper inside.
(Informative)The crystal is where the magic he harvested rests to be used to protect the people of Eos.
Owner of the Inn above the Tavern. He begrudgingly puts up with the party but its hidden behind real care for them.
(Weaving a great story) The Draconian expelled from his dying breathe, a powerful beast amongst chaos
(Excited) The Fulgurian burst forth from his soul, electric
(Ominous) Nihilum, what was left, a messenger, a guide
A nobleman of good rapport with the party though he often becomes the barrier of bad news.
(Dissapointed) I wish that we could meet under better circumstances
(Ominous) None who have resisted have ever survived and those selected are never seen again.
A snobbish Halfling who is very snooty and mostly thinks the adventurers clumsy oafs.
(haughty)Nihilum takes the chance to manipulate the group into visiting all of the gods
(warning)You break it and you buy two
(deep sigh, annoyed) Oh great, you weren't turned off by our first encounter
An elderly scarred goliath who became something of a leader by his unflappable nature
(Careful warning)You should not stay, you won't last the night
(Angry)I don't recall asking for help in defending Starfell
(informative)The party stays the night to defend the valley village and gets their first real taste at how deadly and many the scourge truly is.
Dragonborn blacksmith who is enjoys the parties orders and likes their storys of glory
(Dramatic) They then make their way up the path to the monastery of the Archeaon
(Pleased) So what'll it be, the sword or the sword
(whispered) The monks were slain in their sleep
A powerful and stern woman, captain of the guard and a formidable force.
(proud) elected as Titan’s champion and raised from the earth with his blessing born anew.
(Irritated) Jail is not a halfway home and hot meal
(Tired) Does this story end with a point, my blade or otherwise
An absolute chad bro, but not all bad. Just competitive.
(flippant) I don't do autographs, these fists are for punching
(cocky) I don't know the meaning of the word
(Informative) They manage to solve his puzzle and find him at his tower in the Luminous Vale.
A wacky inventor who hosts a crazy gauntlet type maze every year
(Informative) Igor didn’t have a lot of answers but did direct the party to Fulminus
(Irritated) Can't or won't?
(chiding) That's what you get for touching anything, I warned you
A beautiful tiefling who works on armors, leathers and dyes. Someone monotone speaking voice but pitched up for her sales.
(Defending) That was one time!
(Sales) Cloaks and Dyes, your stop to shop until you drop
(Informative) Outside of Fulminus they meet a snake oil salesman claiming to have an elixir to cure the scourge.
The leader of the Fulminus Force. He has an Australian accent and he is a real live wire.
(Excited) Aw'right ya, this here's a Zafry Zapper, ya jis toss it like so and watch it blow!
(Proud) I have exactly 12 squandrons of archers and always a rotation of two fresh 'ens to keep the eyes sharper then a hawk
(Informative) She attacks utilizing the underground ancient temple of the Fulgarian with a warp spell on it.
Second in command of the fulminus force. A real rising star with a bow and a playful cohort who compliments Zafry.
(Pestering) One day you are gunna get struck by the Fulgarian and it would be just divine punishment for thinking you can get free charges in those zappers.
(Panic) Look before you throw! Captain! (dives out of the way of an attack)
(Informative) The practice was given up as people began to rely on themselves and stopped caring for those of the past.
A kindly older tinkerer / clockmaker. He gives the party shelter and helps as much as his older body is able.
What never asks a question but expects an answer? A Knock.
(impressed) Just splended!
(informative) She had spent the last of her strength freezing the scourge to stave them off.
A proud warrior who has spent the last several weeks fighting tooth and claw to defend his city that he was locked out of as they evacuated
(tired) A trap lay in wait for the Tritons but the guard managed to fend it off and lure it away.
(desperate) the scourge is intelligent and not just a virus. It affects everyone differently and picks on their weaknesses.
(condescending) Come sniffing back have you Kirvis (Key year vis)
An old king Warforged who is very proud and dutiful
(impressed) You carried my for miles upon your back to see me home
(fatherly) You belong.
(matter of fact) Those who rule in life, serve in death.
