My name is Renara Hawke, and I am looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to help me with a voice-acting project over on YouTube. I'm producing an Audiodrama of the award-winning Throne of Glass series, to not only bring it to a wider audience but also to make these stories more accessible for those who may not be able to afford premium services.
I am starting with The Assassin's Blade. This is the Prequel to the Throne of Glass and is a collection of Novellas.
Now because of the nature of this project, I will be auditioning on a Novella by Novella basis, and then later on with the bigger books, Chapter by Chapter basis, so there will be more roles available in the future.
This is a Recast of the first book in the series: The Assassin and the Pirate Lord.
This series is starting to gain traction on YouTube and considering the characters within the story are all returning characters it makes sense to find VA's to fill their shoes.
I have already completed the first thee Novella's: The Assassin and the Pirate Lord (Original), The Assassin and the Healer, and The Assassin and the Desert. we are currently working on The Assassin and the Underworld, all of which you can check out at the link below:

Auditions info:
. This is NOT a paid project, I cannot afford to pay anything at this stage so I hope you can be understanding.
. 2-3 takes of each line will suffice, I like to see variety in an audition as It helps me get a good idea of an actor’s range.
. No more the 3 takes of each line please.
. There is no limit on how many roles you wish to apply for, I welcome people auditioning for multiple roles.
IMPORTANT!:
- TAATPL will be produced and compiled once The Assassin and the Empire has been completed, you will have ample time to get all lines in but there will also be a long time frame before you see your work on screen. - Please be mindfull of this and please do not harass other cast and crew to "hurry up."
Rules:
1.) XLR/good quality microphone and set up please OR have access to a studio or external recording center.
2.) No background noise or peaking! All audio must be clear and understandable.
3.) If you are given a returning character (RC), this means you will be asked to come back for later parts of the project, this may be weeks, months, or years apart depending on how this project develops.
Please make sure you understand this when you are auditioning, and that you will be just as enthusiastic as you were when you first joined.
4.) You MUST have Discord, if you are successful in your audition I will be adding you to the project server where finer details about the project and characters will be discussed.

5.) To ensure trust and security upfront, each VA will have individual agreements, with myself, signed to safeguard their voice against being used for AI and Ai voice training. Together we can fight against Ai erasing VA as a career!
6.) Not a requirement, but if you have one: Please ensure you have a Demo reel available on your profile when auditioning. I would like to see your full wheelhouse to get an idea of what you can do in the interest of building a roster of reliable VA's I can approach.
DO NOT AUDITION WITH JUST YOU DEMO! - you will not be considered if you do this.

If you have not heard anything from me by Wednesday of this week you have not been successful.
Captain Rolfe is the Pirate Lord of skulls Bay. The youngest Pirate Lord ever to hold the throne, (described as being in his late 20's), Rolfe is Charming, Mischievous, charismatic and Hard-hearted.
Having clawed and killed his way to the top, there is nothing he won’t do to keep his position. He cares only about money and power at heart, not being afraid of getting his hands dirty to remain the richest pirate that ever lived. Being well set up in the slave trade he cares enough to try to keep families together but would rather sell them first to where it will give him the most money, and if he has to split them, he will.
While he thrives off of the attention his fame gives him, his fuse is short, giving him a slight edge to his words once someone’s pissed him off. Being a ruler in his own right, there is a maturity and wisdom that comes with this. He is an accomplished diplomat and is able to conduct his business effectively and so, his voice should be rich. He however has little room to accommodate arrogant and childish individuals. He also states that most of the lesser Pirate Lords who challenged his rule, and who pridefully thought they were better than he, ended up dead by his hand.
His voice is that of a low to mid-range, and he speaks with a BRITISH/ENGLISH ACCENT. He speaks with a smooth savviness and is well-spoken for a pirate, namely, we aren't looking for overly aggressive stereotypes. This man is a pirate through and through though. Despite his lofty position he still enjoyed getting drunk in the tavern, enjoying the local whores and will sing sea shanties. He has earned the respect of his men and the fear of the lesser pirate lords under his command and this should be quite evident in his portrayal.

Returning Character: Rolfe is one of the many roles within The Assassins Blade Novella's in that we find him in later books, he turns up in Empire of storms, and then briefly in Kingdom of Ash, so If you apply for this role you must be willing to be on the project long term.
(Charismatic, charming and kind but lowkey pissed off) - "I'm glad to see you've made yourself at home."
(Sarcastic knowing you have the upper hand here.) - "Ah. But it's early spring. Even up in Bellhaven, nights are still cold. Unless my men where without coats, there was no way for-" (Celaena cuts you off)
(Low dark tone, a nerve has been struck) - "This map. Hasn't moved. In eight, years."
Dia is the son of a merchant family hailing from the continent of Eyllwe, he is described as tanned, reed-thin with fine features. He is a man who has never worked a day's hard labour in his life, but he is not spoilt for it, rather, he has trained his mind in learning the arts of trade.
He is intelligent, wary and able to read a situation well and knows how to survive.
The continent of Eyllwe and the Kingdom of Ardarlan have been at war for years, finally ending when Ardarlan gave the ruling family of Eyllwe an ultimatum. Submit to Ardalan's rule, or be obliterated. The Royal family chose to submit, saving many of its people, but meaning the introduction of Ardalan's slave trade, which has grown expansively, pulling many innocents into its clutches.
Dia is one such citizen who has fallen victim to the slave trade, being simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, he was captured, beaten and sold as a slave, now one of the slaves in Arobynn Hamel's Shipment. In The Assassin and the Pirate Lord, it tells us that he and his fellow captives have been on the road for weeks, witnessing 7 of his fellow brothers and sisters in chains die on the way to Skull's Bay's main port. They are now all here, waiting to see what their fates have in store for them.
Dia speaks with a SPANISH ACCENT. The accent can be as strong or as weak as you interpret it to be, considering he has grown up bilingual. Spanish being his first language and English as his second to learn in the art of trade.
IMPORTANT:It is vital to know that if you are applying for this role you must be able to speak Spanish fluently. There will be lines in Spanish and I need someone to be able to speak and pronounce things fluently and believable.
(Nervous, wary) - "My-my mother was from Bellhaven, my father was a merchant in Banjali. I grew up with both languages."
(Excited, hopeful, focused, spoken softly, almost whispered) - "Abre los grilletes de todos, pero no salgan de este cuarto, esta mujer nos va ayudar."
(Determined, calm)- "We will be ready."
Captain Fairview is one of the remaining lesser Pirate Lords who wisely chose not to fight Captain Rolfe when he became ruler of all pirates, but rather to serve under him.
He is cold, cruel and a true pirate at heart, he revels in the slave trade because it provides for him much gold.
He seems to be the type of guy who would eagerly go out to capture slaves if he could but, being under Captain Rolfes command, he takes his orders with as much grace as a dirty whore-son pirate can.
His accent and speaking pattern are up for interpretation but he must sound European in origin. (So English, French, Spanish, German, Eastern European, Etc.) I'm interested to see what people come up with.
He's the stereotypical pirate, so the stereotypical piratey cadence is welcome but I'm interested to see what creative direction people might take with this.
NOTE: Please ensure you have a Demo reel available on your profile when auditioning for this character. This character only has 3 lines so in the interest of longevity for whoever is cast, I would like to see your full wheelhouse to get an idea of what you can do.
(Snarled, optimistic)- "This one, fought back a bit. Keep him in Iron's though and he'll fetch a good price."
(Optimistic and slightly jovial) - "I'd send him to the market in Bellhaven. Lots of rich men there needing strong hands to do their building. Or women needing strong hands for something else entirely."
