The Angel Program - Voice Testing
Project Overview
The Angel Program is of a solar system ravaged by plagues of beings known as monsters, catastrophic monsters of another realm.
On the final gasp of life, humans put all their minds together to create warrior AI, known as Eves to assist and operate impossibly complex and powerful machine, including what were known was Warminds, AI that could operate a near endless tasks such as massive deadships, building sized canons, and even Arks that are send to other systems to gather more resources. Some of these AIs yet would instead be mounted into a winged, tailed, humanoid platform based off of a melding of monster and human traits, then sent into battle under the name of a submind. A submind could destroy entire small armies alone, but were, compared to humans, simple minded and easily outmaneuvered by any high demon or basic devil. In a quick Hail Mary of desperation, they merged human minds and souls with the subminds, creating the Angels. Now with the might of a submind, and the mind, intelligence, and soul of a human.
These new beings now serve humanity to ensure a future and to find what is allowing these monsters to pour in, and stop it.
The story focuses on Vi and her and her purely logical submind, Samuel, come together as a new pair to understand what they now are as an Angel and work to stop the tide of invading forces. And possibly discover the secrets their creator and overseers, Heaven’s Eye, and just to what extent their god-playing goes and to what end.
While I do have preferences and lines given, this project is super open ended and frankly I just want to see the voice talent of this site and what they can do. This is practice and a chance to talk talent. Not a project that's getting off the ground any time soon. I still have a long way to go.
While I have lines given and some have voice ideas, feel free to do a second audition with your own spin and lines! Have fun and explore these characters with me! It doesn't matter your skill level or how good you think you are, I am looking forward to any effort you put forward!
Also feel free to audition multiple times for one role! You got several kinds of takes you want for a character? Maybe you want to do one script read and one improv? Feel free to do whatever!

Vi is a newly created angel from a combination of an unknown human and the submind known as Samuel. For some unknown reason, Samuel did not merge and stayed as a separate entity within Vi, but still instilling her with her angel instincts.
Vi is self confident and sufficient, impatient, and aspirational. She takes her role as the perfected Angel seriously and refuses to settle for anything less than perfection. She also always tries to see the best in others and wants them to do their best. However this also means she can come off as stern and rude, however she truly just wants everyone around her to be the best person they can be.
Vi often sasses anyone she can and regularly challenges orders she’s given. She often feels she’s above orders and should be able to bend them how she should feel if it means she does the mission in a way she prefers. She’s also dangerously stubborn. She’ll bash her head against a metaphorical brick wall again and again until she finds a way to win. Vi will fight until every last bone in her body is broken and every circuit is offline. Her stubbornness is only matched by her combat prowess.

[Eyerolling] Hero of the universe can I still have to listen to orders...
[Determined] If I cannot stop that Titan, who will?!
[Calm] I'm fine, Jonah. Just need a tune-up. Ravager gnawed up my feet and a swarm of adherents got to my wings.
Samuel is the submind that was partnered with an unknown human to create the Angel named Vi.
Samuel is technical, direct, and not one for conversation. Often Vi forgets he even exists as he can go days without speaking a single word, merely feeding her information. Though he does have a sass streak and if he can jab Vi he will. While he says this isn’t out of entertainment, more advise, it’s clear he finds avenues to make fun of her with.
Samuel doesn’t understand emotions or humanity, but knows one thing for sure, he loves humanity and wants Vi safe more than anything. Was he programmed this way? Is wanting to keep Vi safe some kind of backwards self preservation code? He doesn’t know, and frankly he doesn’t care. Samuel’s life is constant work, admittedly work he never tires of nor does he hold the ability to feel dissatisfaction with his job, but it’s enough work to never get him to really ponder, which he’s fine with. His life is how he wants it. He saves lives, he makes sure Vi is safe, and humanity takes another breath for every monster life he helps Vi take.
Often when he does pipe up he and Vi butt heads, but Samuel rarely enforces his position, more offers his position and why. Often he allows the results talk for him as because he’s a sapient supercomputer who gets the mission updates and relays them to Vi, often he is right and simply lets Vi make her own mistakes.
Samuel speaks straightforward and directly. He doesn't mince his words and finds the quickest way to communicate information.

Angelo, or just 0, was the first Angel created by merging a human with a submind. He also serves as their on-the-field leader.
Angelo is very passionate, heroic, and caring. Those under his leadership are more valuable to him than his own life. Angelo immediately takes a fatherly role to any new Angel he finds, taking them under his wing and helping them with their new paradigm. Angelo also often goes on expositions to find deactivated Angel nests and bring their location and status back to Heaven’s Eye so they can be recovered or destroyed if needed.
In battle, Angelo takes his role as a Gladiator very seriously, actively serving as a mobile shield to protect his comrades. Every person in his sphere influence on the battlefield is his responsibility and he will fight tooth and claw to ensure they’re safe. Few are more pro-human and Angelo, seeing them as all powerful watchers and friends. He plays his station well, even maybe too well. He’s very naive to humanity and blind to the possibility of corruption within Heaven’s Eye’s walls.
If anyone needs positive encouragement, Angelo is there with a smile on his face to encourage them all with no reservations. And if any monster or traitor needs a blaster to the face, he’s the first to draw his weapon. Though he hides a dark side that's emerged throughout his millennia of war. Angelo has not only begun to lose memories of things he's held dear, but also developed an alternate personality that is pure cold logistics that emerges when he's forced to make tough pyrrhic and even sacrificial decisions.

[Bright and Inspirational] Today, my legions, today we strike down evil from this planet! For eons these wretches have plagued Venus, tempting it to fall like Earth - like Mars! Never. Again. Today, today! Today we bring an age of light to this dark eternity the Monsters promise. Look at them, they're no more than bugs thinking they're human. Let us remind them what Humanity has done to bugs who intrude on our sanctuaries!
[Logistical, In His Alternate Personality] Dwarf Titans are able to take on fifty Angels in one fight, but struggle once the numbers reach around one hundred. Each Angel costs around one hundred million to produce, four human lives are born every second. A dwarf Titan takes around ten billion dollars and two minutes of humanity's resources to defeat. This seems a fair trade for their ability to rend a planet uninhabitable. Deploy the Cascade Flight to defeat the Dawnbreaker, they're expendable enough.
[Fatherly and Calm] Vi, being an Angel is not easy. We're put on the altar of sacrifice so those who couldn't handle being an Angel don't have to fight. Whoever you were in life, she wanted this. We all did. We knew this fight was bigger than the life we had before. If we lose, humanity follows suit. Admiral Dice' military goes, we lose in a year, the Warminds go, we lose in a month. But if the Angels fail, humanity dies within the week. We are bastion, we are the wall. But you, you're our first sword. Our first chance to reclaim what we've lost!
Jonah is Vi’s personal mechanic and first contact outside of her duties. While initially being dismissive of her and just wanting to do his job, he quickly began warming up to Vi (much to her chagrin) and began trying to open up Vi’s prickly personality. He's also her overseer and has been put in charge of making sure she follows missions while not actively under orders.
Jonah is an extrovert in an introvert’s body. He has an immense anxiety about talking to people, but once he establishes that link he quickly opens up as a high energy person who could talk about anything from the current climate to a spec of dirt for hours. His entire life Jonah’s loved machinery and how it works, so when he was hired to be an Angel mechanic, he was ecstatic. But he’d quickly learn he’d find more than he thought he would.
However, despite being told to see Vi as nothing more than a glorified computer, Jonah would quickly want more than just a job with Vi. He began talking to talk with Vi, and would realize there was far more to her than even he expected. Mainly, she was once human. All Angels were. She did not know of her past, but knew she was a human at one point.
The two would begin to grow close to each other, confiding in the others about their issues with their lives and exchanging cultures of humans and Angels. Now they’re close friends who rely on the other to get through the days, each looking forward to the other’s small company after VI’s deployment is completed.

So what's the damage this time, Vi? Did some spawn take your arm off? Is Samuel being intrusive again? Did-oh! That's...okay *sigh* this'll be a long one...
Vi I have orders from command, from 0 himself. Go through the canyon and meet Stormer at this marker. It's dense with monsters so keep an eye out, also keep noise to minimum, there's a lot of banshees in there.
Vi can you stop fussing? One bad wire pull and you're going to be seeing nothing but green and black.
Anuvunak is a low ranking archon from the Earthen brood and serves as the nurse of the brood, raising the infantile beasts in the stead of the mysterious brood mother.
For an archon Anuvunak is incredibly young, being only about one hundred years old. Yet despite this, her incredible intelligence and doting nature on her surrogate spawn has pushed the nature of monsters further than any other archon in centuries.
Unlike almost all other archons, Anuvunak loves her surrogate spawn. Despite her not being the true mother of them, she still raises them like she was. By the time she was only about forty during the time of Blackout: Earth, Anuvunak had successfully created the Earthen Titan the Angels refer to as Diablo. How old she was when she created it is unknown, but she first deployed it during this mission and watched with glee as it tore the Angels apart.
Later, only about ten years later, she’d successfully create a dwarf Titan the Angels would dub Beamer. She was given the mocking title of Titan Mother, as unlike every other archon who had made Titans(s), Anuvunak doted on them and treated them like gigantic pets. Yet despite their mocking, her strategy worked and where most Titans are walking disasters and are uncontrollable sans the spell cast to put them in hibernation, Anuvunak’s Titans were loyal, intelligent (for Titan standards), and only rampaged at her order.
Anuvunak is cunning and a power hungry. She never takes to battle herself, instead commanding her brood and setting traps, then reveling in seeing humanity's forces suffer.
Her whereabouts is currently unknown.

Bring me the young. I shall commence this ritual myself if our brood mother will not.
Alak-Hai's brood seems to be struggling... send a Titan to them. No matter who ends up dead from its rampage, I win. Now watch them suffer.
Kaih-spawn! How long I wanted to see their metallic offspring in person! I've experimented on your Kaih masters for a century now, I can't wait to see how different your circuits cry instead of their entrails... [Giggles manically]
Forest is an Angel of little note, however she is part of Vi’s initial fireteam under the Genesis Flight.
Forest is nervous, quick to worry, and a far cry from most Angels. This is due to during the process of her and her submind merging, Forest’s submind malfunctioned, damaging Forest’s brain and inhibiting her would’ve been newly acquired Angel instincts
Forest, like Vi, is very young for Angel standards. She has very little experience in being an Angel, and due to her lack of Angel instincts thanks to her submind malfunctioning, Forest is extremely slow during battles by Angel standards. Vi quickly takes on an older sister role with Forest (despite Forest technically having been an Angel for longer), guiding her through the initial stages of being an Angel and teaches Forest the ropes that her submind would’ve implanted into her instincts.
Forest is clumsy, self conscious, and shy. But that isn’t to underestimate her combat prowess. Despite her not having Angel instincts, she is incredibly viscous and her bloodlust when someone she cares about (like Vi) is in danger is concerning even to long-lived Angels like 0. Forest is rarely in control of herself during these outbursts, saying she just starts seeing red and her eyes and ears fill with static for a few seconds. Once everything clears, the battle’s over.
Forest has a certain tick where her left eye randomly turns to static and glitches. This seems to occur during times when Forest is self conscious and focusing a lot on herself. As such, Forest tries to constantly make things about other people and never acknowledge herself. If pressured she turns into a chatterbox and endlessly yaps about other people until she scares off whoever was trying to talk about her or they get the hint and move on to another topic.

[Nervous] H-hai! Name's Forest a-and ngh-! [Pained grunt] H-how're you? Don't mind me, I'm okay-y! Really. Please, how are y-you?
[Confused and Blabbing] I-I don't know what happened! I-I just saw a lot of monsters com-ming at me a-and I had to do something so I-I... I-! I just saw red! It went away and th-they...they were dead-!
[Nervous, but happy] Humans are so interesting to me. W-weird to say because I used to be one I-I know... b-but humans seem so weird. N-no instinct to kill? No r-regenerating limbs? Can't fly? Fleshiness? F-fragile things, humans.
"I have counted the stars of the sky. All of them. From Sarous to Polaris to Merkademus. The numbers of them all could shatter the mind. Yet, if that number was the minimum the mind could process, the number of the Adherent would shatter said mind same number that is stars over." -Ancient Human script from the first Rift War
Born for one purpose, war. Adherents are powerful and merciless soldiers of the Monster invasion. They don't know fear, they feed on death, their weapons take in entropy and turn it into firepower, they were bred and made to be never ending. So long as the Rifts stand open, the Adherents shall forever march. By the heels of their titans. By the shoulders of their hunters. By the knees of their warlocks. And side by side with their own Adherents. The never ending Tithe to an ever greater god will continue.
Adherents all have a unique speech pattern, but all inhuman and alien. From skittering minion grunt-like voices, to howling cries for blood, adherents are as unique as they need to be. While they technically do not have genders, they can have either feminine or masculine voices.
Slaughter them all! The age of Kaih ends now!
From the abyss we come, to the abyss we send you!
I am but one drop of a great ocean, fetid Kaih. In the time you have listened to me, my weight in the army has been drowned by numbers unable to be perceived by your feeble mind.
The Fontaine is the current spearhead of the Physical Realm’s invasion.
Cunning, intelligent, and gifted with the ability of prophecy, the Fontaine has been a constant thorn in humanity’s side for millennia. Every major move they make, he sees and can prepare for. He knew of the Angel Program’s inevitable success nearly ten years before 0 was created. He reported the invasion of Earth to the Rift Tyrant several months before it occurred, giving his superior time to prepare and begin a ritual to bring Demogorgon through the rift.
However there is one prophecy above all that the Fontaine has yet to decipher that he received only recently. That one day a human shall shed its skin and reign as a god among monsters, and the Distortion Realm will go empty. The Fontaine has been troubled by this prophecy, that one day they will be ruled by a mere human, but much more hauntingly is the last part. Does that mean all monsters break through? Or are they all wiped out? This prophecy has caused the Fontaine to become sloppy with his strategies and actions, rushing to interpret other prophecies, leading to bad decisions and making openings in his front, one Vi is primed to harness.
The Fontaine hides beyond an aura of superiority and power. He says what he wants and gets what he wants. Only bowing to the Rift Tyrant himself, he often lets his ego do the talking.

[Calm but with venom] Ah, Vi…God’s righteous woman. Pretending being an Angel can wipe away your sins.
Do you confuse a prophet for his god? I am but the messenger of a higher order of ontology. Yet you quake at my presence.
Such bold words from Stormer, the soldier who’ll never see the end of this canyon... yes, yes, the highest ranking officer of the beasts and their best seer. I see everything that you humans ever do and you play endlessly play into my hands. Like now...
Khan is a monster created for the sole purpose of equaling Vi, the most powerful Angel to have ever been made.
Khan is suave, cocky, and has a habit of styling on his opponents when he can. He loves proving his superiority to all he fights, even other Monsters. However whenever he can he challenges Vi, seeing her as the ultimate foe. While fighting Vi often Khan's behavior, while still stylish and cocky, changes to a more flirtatious behavior, knowing such a technique gets on Vi's nerves due to how much she hates Monsters.
Khan is also somehow able to defy death. Every time he's struck down, he simply returns and looks more and more like an Angel and less like a Monster each time.

Finally found you... Welcome to hell, my dear. I am the Khan, and I was born to kill you.

[Frustrated] No! I am SUPERIOR! Stop w-winning, damn you! This wasn't how this was supposed to go!
Nevis, also known as Nevis, the Dominator, is one of the highest ranking archons on this plane.
Never a warlock of note, Nevis was cast aside by his father at birth to die. Refusing this end, Nevis quickly trained his body and mind, unlike all other warlocks who exclusively honed their mind. Nevis would then return and kill his father, becoming the leader of the swarm.
Despite this achievement, he was still of little consequence and unrevered. So, in an act of blind stupidity, Nevis challenged a high swarm father, a being at least twice his strength, and somehow defeated him. Instead of wiping his opponent’s swarm off the map, Nevis took his consort, Shûb, the Inundated, as his own, a famously massive Knight in both strength and stature. This bold and frankly entertaining move, defeating such a powerful foe, subjugating his entire swarm, and taking such a large consort despite his diminutive size as his own, gave him the title of the Dominator. Nevis would then have three direct children; Uural, the Rotter, Brûshût, the Storm Mother, and Throl, the Will of Nevis.
Nevis is tricky, brutal, and cunning. He never says anything unless he gains something from saying it. He always feels he has something to prove despite him being beholden to no one except The Fontaine himself. This causes Nevis’ strategies to be extremely well planned but fast acted upon. Nevis is one of the easiest warlocks to attribute an attack to. But one should not underestimate him, as he is as strong as he is potent in magic. Nevis can equal an Angel in hand to hand combat, and even damage one. Though this is rare and Nevis hasn’t been seen in person in over five hundred years.

Silence, wretch! Speak to me as I am a mere spawn again and the spawn of my own will have you for a meal!
The Fontaine has given us orders, siblings. We begin at Venus' lake of methane. The Kaih will most likely respond at this location here, and here. Spread your initial skirmish units thin, first. Once the Kaih believe they have momentum, Boshir, send in Anuvunak at this location. She'll know what to do from there.
[Cocky and Dumbfounded] Did you *honestly* think you, a Kaih, could stand against the pinnacle of 'Monster'-kind? Perhaps I should strip you of your limbs and keep you alive screaming as a trophy in my war room. But I think using you for scrap will be more useful.
The Warprince was the first ever truly independent and sapient Warmind. It also is said to have been the prototype that’d go on to be the framework of what’d become the Angels.
Created during the first one hundred years of the Rift Wars, The Warprince would be humanity’s greatest weapon against the Monsters. He’d single handedly defeat entire armies and even bested many archons. However, three hundred years into his tenure, The Warprince would mysteriously disappear at the conclusion of the first Rift War after the defeat of the archon, Aksirai on Earth. People expected he’d return once the Monsters counterattacked, but once the Battle of the Storm Valleys kicked off the second Rift War and The Warprince did not appear, humanity began to worry. However the Angel Program was near completion and 0 would quickly pick up The Warprince’s legacy. To this day, several millions of years later, Heaven’s Eye has officially stated that The Warprince succumbed to his injuries on Earth and his body was most likely either lost to Monster corruption, or they’re using it for something.
The Warprince knew every single school of fighting. From karate, to judo, muay tai, boxing, and much more. It’s believed if he ever returned the only thing preventing him even now from being the strongest tool humans had would be his outdated code.

To have reached this forsaken place... it must have taken will that surpassed any of my time. Come, give me the rest I earned.
Such bloodlust. This is needed for our war, but do not let it consume you.
Excellent form, daughter of starlight. You truly were worth every second humanity invested in your creation. I was instructed since I first awoke to carry something for her, should we ever meet. And we have. Enjoy, princess of stars. Now, allow me to take my long deserved end...
“Beamer” is the name given by Angels to a young Dwarf Titan that has been causing consistent problems with the Militant Zone boarders of Mars.
Beamer was first encountered during the Skyline Blitzes, a campaign where humanity attempted to reclaim a moon of Mars, Phobos, and it emerged from a crack on the planet, instantly engaging the forces. Beamer and its masters would push humanity back to Mars and even claim a beachhead on Mars. Beamer then consistently would test the boundaries and always fall back when substantial force was pushed back at it.
For a Titan, Beamer was shockingly intelligent, more close to that of a highly intelligent animal than a living disaster, much akin to a lion. Even by Dwarf Titan standards, which tend to be more intelligent than their full size counterparts. Theories suggest Beamer was a failed experiment by Wizards on Phobos to create a sapient Titan and found a fortuitous time to solve two issues at once when the blitz reached ground level.
If threatened or actively fighting, Beamer fires a massive laser of hot plasma from its eye at anything that threatens it. It also tends to like to keep at a distance and let its laser beam do damage instead of its body. However this does mean to underestimate its form, as it has perfectly capable of easily ripping even steel apart with ease and clawing open warships.
Beamer may be a creature not capable of much more than high-intelligence animal behavior, but it was bred to roar and speak in human-like speech patterns in order to unsettle its enemies. A good voice comparison would be Bonecrusher from Transformers 2007. Its voice reverberates throughout the bones of its foes and can even injure ears of humans.

KAIH!
YOU! I HATE YOU!
UAGH! HATE YOU!
“Where there’s bodies, there is the stench of Gloryseekers. Their fetid cloth, their rotten forms, their bastardized reflection of our Heaven’s Eye sigil on their chest. They are hateful beasts, and their existence is more evidence to the depravity of the monsters.”
Gloryseekers are immortal beasts of ever-increasing renown. They prey across the realms on powerful creatures. For the most part, Gloryseekers are blind, but use their odd ability to sense “glory”. The more renown and fame for their power a foe has, the easier they are to be detected by them.
However, these Gloryseekers are very honorable and do not attack those they find weak or unworthy unless absolutely necessary. And upon being bested, will simply dismiss themselves, leaving a reward for the one who defeated them. They do not lie, they do not double cross, they are simply living challenges to be overcome.
These Gloryseekers used to be the most common, but to due a recent event within the Monster’s realm, most have since fallen into what the others apparently call the Rabid Gloryseekers, who instead of only finding powerful foes, sparing weaker ones, they will track down areas of mass death, appearing from the death of another, and begin wildly destroying anything they find in hopes of feeding their hunger for glory. In modern day, Monsters have learned to abuse this nature of these Rabid Gloryseekers by mass sacrificing their own men to summon them and tactically lead them to human infrastructure. These versions also do not stop until victorious, or dead.
- Can be both masculine and feminine
Such fire to live! If we fed off of determination instead of glory, I'd never need to hunt again! But the universe is a cruel joke for us all.
Struggle all you want or not at all, this is no more fun for me either way.
I arrive, your life is over. Lay down your arms. I'll make this quick.
The Rift Tyrant is an extremely powerful Demon, tasked by Demogorgon himself to rule over and maintain the Rift. Unless directly ordered otherwise by a Lord, all Monsters answer to the Rift Tyrant.
In battle the Rift Tyrant knows exactly how powerful and large he is, using a bruiser-like strategy by throwing his body and limbs around to mercilessly crush and destroy whoever crosses him. He is deathly loyal to the Lords and specifically Demogorgon and will protect the Rift until his last breath. Which for the thousands of years he’s stood guard at the Rift, has never come even close to happening. He is the ultimate challenge that Angels look towards being able to even challenge. And his defeat would mark an utterly crushing blow to the Monsters and force their Lords to come through the Rift themselves to maintain it, making them vulnerable.
The Rift Tyrant’s true name has been lost to time and he prefers that, feeling his station is all he should be remembered for and as. Surpassingly, the Rift Tyrant is very patient and refuses to fight anyone who approaches the Rift unless himself finds them a threat or specifically ordered to. He also does not talk, rather his growls, grunts, bugles, bellows, roars, and general shift in body language are interpreted by his followers and “guests” to his intentions and orders. It is unknown if he even can properly talk, much less in an understandable language.
It is rumored the Rift Tyrant once had wings and was a lord himself given how much more powerful he is compared to normal rank and file Monsters, but a lord ripped them from him during a mutiny, resulting in his now current station and undying loyalty.
The Rift Tyrant speaks in a booming voice that commands reverence. His voice should feel like every word spoken is gospel and fact.
