[The Wolf and The Last Pig] A Yandere Visual Novel

Project Overview

"Once upon a time, there

were three little pigs,

Walking in a forest with trees so big.

They had choices of straw, sticks, or bricks,

Each with a completed house to pick.

Stalked by a wolf, who stirred blood into the mix,

Not cement, but perhaps

a heart to fix."

"The Wolf and the Last Pig" is a yandere visual novel based on the childhood fairy tale "The Three Little Pigs."

The main love interest (aka the yandere) in the game is the "wolf" of the story, while the main character (aka the player) is the pig who built the house of bricks.

You and the two other pigs have just escaped the farm, taking up residence on a large plot of land you found in the forest. But as you try to build your house each day, a teasing wolf continues to pester you.

You’d think a yandere game would have violence, but my friend, you’d be wrong. That would be far too scary for the kids, after all. So every violent act is covered up with a cute, hand-made sticker. And swearing? No, no, no—absolutely not! If any is found, it’s neatly scribbled out.

I’m a firm believer that the phrase “the eyes are the window to the soul” is BS, if done correctly. In this game, each character sprite expresses emotion through sticky notes placed over their face, giving off a cutesy “everything is okay” vibe... that also clearly says “everything is not okay.” The only time the sticky notes aren’t used is in CG images.

I am the main writer, sprite artist, and programmer for this project but I'm in need of some help if I wish to complete this project with the best result possible.

I am in need of:

VOICE ACTORS:

  • Mic type doesn’t matter, audio quality does. As long as you can deliver your lines clearly, at a high volume, without muffling or background noise, and with good overall quality, I don’t care what kind of mic you use.

  • Voice actors must be able to deliver lines with a variety of emotions. For example, expressing fear, worry, anger, happiness, and more.

  • All roles involve partial voice acting, except for the "Storyteller," the "Huntsman," and the "Farmer," who speak only in specific cutscenes. The "Storyteller" will perform a short poem at the beginning and one at the end. However, there are some instances where voice actors will deliver full lines.

CO-WRITER/EDITOR

  • DESPITE being the main writer, I need assistance with various things.

  • Structuring, editing (grammar checking) and helping with certain aspects of the story.

CG Artist

  • A CG is a special full-screen image or illustration, often a scene with characters or a key event (pulled this definition straight from Google haha).

  • The CG's for this VN however will only include one character at a time.

  • Most of the time, a CG will show the character from the mid-torso up. However, there are some rare instances where the character is shown from the knees up.

[A small note on why this is an unpaid project: As much as I would absolutely love to pay anyone, I’m broke—plain and simple. This is a passion project I started on a whim, and any help to make it a playable reality would be amazing. The game will be free, so I don’t plan to make any profit from it. ]

  • Finally an update

    Hey everyone!

    I may or may not have forgotten that I AM supposed to provide updates on here. Forgive me, but your update has arrived. Hooray!

    Everything has been going great regarding development, just some slip ups regarding writing but nothing that I couldn't fix.

    I plan to having the demo released this year, no idea when but it is a plan. The demo will have two days which will introduce the characters and conflict. It will have some mingames and many bad poems. 🤞

    I did a lot of work during December regarding just putting the game together, polishing up the script, creating minigame assets and new backgrounds.

    If you wish to follow my development I do have a tumblr (kiplerkai), where I do plan om posting development more in detail soon. I do have a Tiktok (in my profile bio), but it's more informal and has other types of videos as well that doesn't concern the VN.

    Dear Auditioners

    Before shortlisting begins, I want to exchange a few words with all of you who auditioned. I want to thank you all for thinking that my project was something worth investing your time and effort into, especially since this is an unpaid project. I often struggle with staying committed and motivated to projects like this. I've started many creative endeavors that have been left incomplete. I would overthink my worth, resources, and skills in completing such projects.

    I know we shouldn't be motivated solely by external validation, but seeing the number of people who auditioned helped alleviate my doubts. (Whether I may have pestered you or you discovered the project yourself) I appreciate you all, and due to this comes the hardest part for me: shortlisting and ultimately choosing roles for people. I find this difficult because I've communicated with many of you, and you all seem extremely nice and eager to be part of the project. The thought of choosing just one person per role was been tough on my mind.

    To make the process more fair, I had the assistance of my younger (very judgmental) sister, who had no prior communication with anyone, so her thoughts would be purely based on the auditions. Together, we both learned things (mostly regarding audio) that I used to ask some of you to improve on. We would read all the writing pieces, check the artworks, and then discuss our preferences. I made notes on every single audition, highlighting the highs and lows, personal preferences, and areas for improvement.

    I had originally planned on sharing these thoughts with every single person who auditioned, but once I received over 50 auditions, the task seemed too tiring. I still can't believe I've even reached over 100 auditions, much less over 200. I can't thank you all enough for wanting to be part of my creative journey. And I'm sorry I couldn't be part of all of yours.

  • Callback Season is here!

    Hello hello everyone!

    It's officially callbacks now! Time flies so fast because last week I was contemplating shortening the deadline because I was impatient. Looking back, I'm glad I didn't, because next thing you know, I'm giving out roles. WHICH IS NEXT WEEK SATURDAY, GUYS.

    I've already sent out the callback requests for all the artists that auditioned. Just have to send out to the VAs now. Approximately 42 people will be getting callbacks, and you have until the 19th of August to send your callback audition.

    To anyone who received a callback audition request, please add another audition for the role you auditioned for again with [CBS] in the description. For anyone who gave multiple submissions, I will be specifying what ones I want an extra submission for.

    And remember, if you don't get a callback, that's okay. It doesn't mean you don't have a possibility to get the part; it's still quite high, in fact.
