Project Overview

Hello!

Welcome to the casting call for a fandub of season one of the anime, Sword Art Online! My name is Pendragon and I am one of the directors for this fan project! I have experience as a voice actor for well over five years now and decided that it was time to start directing some projects and recruiting some talent for some fun little fandubs! I have a couple of co-directors to assist me with this project, so I am currently looking for some talented voice actors and a video editor to help bring this project to life!

I'm not one for lengthy descriptions, so I'll give you all a short and sweet one!

The studio's working name is Aincrad Fandubs, since this is our first project together! We will have a Discord server that actors will be invited to upon being cast! Please understand that since this is a fan project, there will be no payment, but this is a great way to gain some experience as an actor and portray some characters you enjoy!

The main requirements are as follows:

1. All auditioners must be eighteen years or older. No minors please. This is for safety reasons and to ensure that the cast is as professional as possible. We will be dubbing mature scenes and anime at times, so it is best if no minors join the server for this reason!


2. Please either message or add your Discord handle to your audition. Since we will have a server where there will scripts and the like, this is the best way to communicate and keep it touch!


3. Have fun! At the end of the day, this is fun little project and something that I hope you will all enjoy!

  • Casting Begins!

    Hello, everyone! I see that there are quite a few auditions and after some discussions with the co-directors, we have decided to begin casting a bit early! Asuna Yuuki, known as Asuna ingame, is the main female protagonist in Sword Art Online. She comes off as rather feisty and hotheaded at first, but has a soft spot for Kirito, who becomes her ingame husband and boyfriend outside of the game. Known as the Lightning Flash due to her skill with a rapier, Asuna is also a very talented cook, much to Kirito's approval.

Her original Voice Actress is Cherami Leigh. Feel free to try and base your voice around hers or try something of your own creation, this is a fandub after all!

One of the supporting characters of the show, Ryōtarō Tsubo, known as Klein ingame, is one of the first players that Kirito ends up meeting and teaching about the game. He is a lovable sidekick type of character who is skilled with a katana, having even founded a Guild alongside a group of his IRL friends! He has a love for pizza and pretty girls, alongside a great friendship with Kirito!

Andrew Gilbert Mills, known ingame as Agil, is a humble merchant within the world of Sword Art Online and even owns his own bar IRL. He is known for being level-headed, only getting excited when he has the chance to purchase or see a rare item. Additionally, he is very skilled with an axe in battle.

Keiko Ayano, known ingame as Silica, is a supporting character in the world of Sword Art Online, where she plays as a Beast Tamer. She is a young teen who possesses the rare ability of being able to utilize a pet dragon, named Pina, who is capable of healing her. She reminds Kirito of his "sister" and the two develop a close bond after he helps her revive Pina, who died protecting her.

Rika Shinozaki, known ingame as Lisbeth, is a skilled blacksmith who makes a living in the world of Sword Art Online through this profession. She is a close friend of Asuna's and meets Kirito, who requests a strong weapon from her, breaks her favorite weapon, and is then forced to gather new materials for her to create a new weapon. She is quick to anger and is a hopeless romantic.

Suguha Kirigaya, known ingame as Leafa, is a supporting character in the world of Sword Art Online. Suguha is Kirito's cousin, who is very close to him to the point where he calls her his sister, and is an expert in kendo. She is a rather important character in the Alfheim arc, where she plays as a Sylph.

Yui is an AI designed to be a psychiatrist in the world of Sword Art Online in order to assist players with coping with the traumatic events occurring around them. She is found by Kirito and Asuna during their time together and calls the two her Papa and Mama. She is quite childish and innocent, but is very powerful.

Akihiko Kayaba, known ingame as Heathcliff, is the creator of Sword Art Online and the leader of the guild, Knights of the Blood Oath. He is known for his impervious defense, but no one knows he is secretly the creator of the game who trapped the players within. He is the main antagonist of the first season.

Kuradeel is a member of the guild, Knights of the Blood Oath, and Asuna's personal bodyguard. He is known for being protective of her to the point of possessiveness and has an intense jealousy for Kirito. Secretly, he is a member of a Player Killer Guild known as Laughing Coffin.

Godfree was a high-ranking member of the Knights of the Blood Oath with the title of Commander of the Vanguard. He was known for be kind and wanting to keep the peace between the various members. He was very skilled with an axe.
