Project Overview
Greetings to all!! Thank you for checking us out. Axendellia is an indie product we're working to turn into a multi-season Youtube show. We hope that you'll join us on this journessy (reference lol). Axendellia will be a PG-13 rated show and explore themes of: depression, lgbtqia+, suicide & sh allegories, and violence. It also includes swearing.
Pronounciation Guide:
Axendellia: axe-end-el-E-uh
Avina: uh-vee-nuh
Nylani: Ny-lawn-knee
Rhyes: Rhy-ehz
All the characters are around 16 in season one. Improv will always be welcome <3 Please make sure you have discord before auditioning and be sure to leave your username. We may contact you for callbacks. If you have more demos on your profile, a channel, past experience, or etc, be sure to let us know. Don't worry that you may be overlooked. Our goal is to examine everyone as fairly as possible.
For any black characters (Arian, Rhyes, & Nylani), we highly prefer POC in their auditions. If you're dismissed over an issue such as poor audio quality, you're welcome to re-apply, especially if we suggest doing so ourselves.

Voice Actor
Avina is our protagonist and an outwardly cute, sociable girl who knows how to take responsibility. Though she doesn't consider herself to be a person of virtue. She can be rather distant and uncaring to the suffering of others. She doesn't stick up for others, but is also rather defensive. She doesn't care too deeply for others, yet still craves validation by being cutesy. She's also very emotionally fragile, much to her dismay.

"Hah... I'm the worst, aren't I...? I knew why I said yes. I knew all along. I didn't know the first thing about him. I didn't need to. I'm just that shallow."
(crying) "That's not true...! You're wrong! I'm not- I'm nothing like you! It's you... you're the one who's wrong! So why are you always so... so cruel??"
Voice Actor
Secondary Protagonist Giovanni strives to feel significant, but ultimately lacks a sense of identity. Defining traits are that he's a bit cocky and it takes a while for him to warm up to people. He doesn't have a clear idea of what he wants, but he's willing to take risks if it means getting closer to his ideals of self-success. He likes to pretend his past quite literally never happened.

"You're an odd one. Just what good would working with me do for you anyway? You really can't blame me for finding you a bit suspicious, y'know."
"You know... everything used to always be so hard for me. No one believed anything I had to day, and I couldn't get a single person's trust for the life of me. But then I figured it out--All it takes is a few words. It's a trial and error process, but once you figure out the right words, you can interact with just about anyone."
(Hyperventilating, frustrated) "Why won't it stop..?? I can't- I.. I just can't and I don't even know why...! I don't even know what I can't do! Why can't I just breathe?? I spent so much time wishing I couldn't so why now of all the times for fucks sake?!"
Voice Actor
Astro is quiet, but deeply driven and ambitious. She reserves her words for when they matter and doesn't waste them on just anyone. She's blunt, direct, and doesn't beat around the bush. She's self-preserving first and foremost. She despises ignorance and looks down on people who let themselves be easily dettered. While she mostly remains calm, it's not difficult to get her mad.

(cold, pissed off) "The amount of fucks I couldn't give about whether or not you died right now is astounding. But i have someone important to me who I wouldn't want hanging around a murderer. So I'm not gonna bother with the sight of your corpse. Then again.. torturing you's not off-limits, right?" (holy edgelord)
Voice Actor
Avina's best friend (yes we're using that trope) who also happens to be a genius. She's a year younger than the rest of the cast, but is in the same year as them due to her brilliance. That said, she's a people pleaser who pushes herself too hard trying to be everything to everyone. She's loyal to a fault, and gets attached very easily. She's also incredibly stubborn and always commits to her vows. With all that said, she's also not afraid to deck a bitch (*cough cough* rhyes) on Avina's behalf

(Soft and kind) You know you can always talk to me, right?...You're me best friend and my whole world. It just makes me think about how you might be struggling and I don't want you to think I don't care because... I *do.* And I care so, so much (dark, scary, dramatic tonal shift) ...and if Rhyes ever talks to you tell me and I'll kill him... (kind and soft again) I want you to know that... if you ever think no one cares for you..? I do. Always.
(anxious, rambly) "I-I'm sorry! I thought I'd be able to handle all the work, an-and then I couldn't, and then I ended up doing a-a worse job, and I know I'm being selfish by asking, but please just don't be mad at me...!"
(quiet, pissed off, slowly getting louder) "Oh. Oh... I see... so you're telling me all of this... everything we- no, everything I've personally been through... you're telling me all of it was because. of. you." "Ah..." (she begins a series of laughter that eventually gets mixed in with crying) "I CAN'T BELIEVE I WAS SUCH AN IDIOT..!! I MEAN, WHAT THE HELL?" (a beat of silence) ".... Serves me right..."
Voice Actor
Kayden a sweet, caring and clever person who's strength lies in being able to see right to the core of any person. His greatest strength also serves to be his biggest weakness, though. Since Kayden is so empathetic, It's often hard for him to grapple with loneliness, abandonment, or betrayal. He's more mature than the average teenager because of how much he's had to confront himself with over the years. Childish and Immature aren't the same thing, however. Kayden's optimism and curiosity are very reminiscent of a child just learning about the world outside their hometown.
Note that he's also trans-masc, so women with a lower register are also free to audition for him!!

(Shakey) "Please, stop...! You still have so much going for you! There's so much you haven't done yet!! Just a little lomger, and you'll see it too, I swear!!"
(sigh) "Yeahh... that's the thing :// My powers are kinda useless in combat, but hey, they're still pretty handy in the day-to-day, so I'd say it's a pretty fair trade, don't ch'ya think? :3"
Voice Actor
Opal presents as very confident and outspoken. She speaks her mind and doesn't let anyone overpower her. She desires control, so she bullies others to get it. The easiest victims are queer people. On top of that, Opal is also a very beautiful girl who takes pride in her appearance. She's a cocky person who views the people around based solely on how useful they can be to her.

Voice Actor
Ash is bold both in their style and personality. They have a strong sense of justice and can't stand any forms of exclusivity. They're lively, loud, and confident in who they are, but still struggle with their anger issues from to time.
Note that they also have the capacity to sound mature/drained. They're also NB, so anyone of any gender can audition for them <3
They also swear quite frequently.

He's a popular, arrogant, athletic, and attractive heartbreaker who's infamous for having a misogynistic streak. But all's forgiven because of his super tragic backstory (I'm joking please don't come for me). He's defense and generally unserious unless he's being called out. He likes the feeling of being in control and can't stand ignorance. He's also surprisingly good at reading people despite being so immature. He also swears like a Hellaverse character so be warned.

I'm really over the whole thing by now. I dunno what to tell you, but you really just aren't any fun. And I don't do boring. Maybe I'll see ya' around, but lord, I hope not. Later."
Voice Actor
An anxious, timid girl who constantly worries about others' wellbeing and their opinions of her. She tends to get caught up in her own head so much that she often stops focusing on the people she's so concerned for altogether. She has a tendency to bottle up her own feelings so much they eventually burst out of her at inconvenient times. Her primary struggle is her self worth. She's patient and understanding with everyone except herself

(Crying heavily) "I'm sorry..! I didn't meant to be such hic a burden!! I just wanted... I- hic It was all so stupid! I don't even- I don't- I don't even know what I want anymore!! I'm sorry!"
Voice Actor
Arian is a self-reserved, generally grumpy person. While he may appear closed off and stuck up at a first glance, anyone who gets to know him quickly realizes how reliable he is. Think of the group mom but make them a tsundere and you get him. Sure, he'll complain, but he'd do anything for his friends no questions asked. Which is why so many people are naturally drawn to him no matter how determined he is to be an edgy lone wolf.
Arian views things objectively and prefers to be practical and rely on logic when making decisions.
He tends to sigh a lot like the overdramatic elegant diva he is <3

Singer
We plan on having certain characters sing, and if we're able to, we'd like to have a karaoke episode. You may very well get cast a character's singer without being their primary voice actor and vice versa. You're allowed to make multiple submissions, and please don't hesitate to send us any demos, or a portfolio. We'd like to hear as much of your range as possible.
You're allowed to sing any song you'd like. A backing instrumental in preferred.

Please note that we're referring to artists and not animators. Artists are one of the more broad positions, but they'd be helping out with tasks like making promotional posts, assisting with backrounds, making sketches, and etc.

Animator
I'm just gonna be blunt, we are quite literally on our hands and knees for you guys.
That was a bit extreme, but jokes aside, we really do want and appreciate you guys. You're the ones who take this project and make it come to life.
We currently have a small team of animators who are willing to put their hearts and souls into this project. I'm one of those people. We can't do this alone. If the thought of applying crossed your mind even for a split second, I ask you to consider it. Even if you decide not to in the end, thank you for considering.

Editing is powerful in the fact that it can make or break a scene, or even a show as a whole. A dramatic cut-away, or spontaneous soundtrack change truly has the power to improve a scene tenfold.
