Starbound Fan-Series
Project Overview
Welcome to the casting call for a fan-made animated series for the game Starbound!
The series is ran and written by Sky Crane (CreeperX3) and Deven Crisp (thepiratetf2), and primarily follows Tai, a floran-raised Hylotl who after having escaped Earth’s destruction at the hands of The Ruin, goes on an adventure to save the universe
The series will incorporate mainly Vanilla elements, but will have some mods thrown in there as well (A.V.I.A.N. and Frackin’ Universe, for two primary examples)
What to expect
Generally, just expect for the team itself to be pretty chill all around, with no deadlines and plenty of chances to goof off between work.
But despite the lack of any deadlines, we do expect you to have enough free time to consistently work on the project. It’s not a job, but the episodes have to get made someday, right?
For voice actors specifically, you might get asked to play multiple roles, mostly minor ones, if the roles are needed (Such as unnamed one-off characters, for example)

As the editor, you will be tasked with editing both the Animatic and the finished animations.
For the animatic you will need to tween some elements of the storyboards and, if needed, you can use your own SFX/Voice Acting, or just ask for some temp SFX/Voice Acting when needed.
For the finished animation, specific SFX and Voicelines will be supplied instead, and you might need to make some transitions between animation clips.

As an animator, you need to be able to animate both really fast-paced moment (Such as fight scenes, chase segments, ECT.) and really subtle movements & details (Character fidgets, eye movements, weapon mechanics) in 2D
For some characters, you will need to be able to use a diffrent animation style for them (Namely A.V.I.A.N., she she will have the more limited, snappy style of 80's/90's Anime)

As a Character Artist, you must be able to draw the characters with the proportions of the Character Bios, but with the simpler shading present in the offical sprites of Starbound

Though just 17 summers old, Nuru is one of the greatest Floran hunters of all time! Dispite her talents, Nuru beleves there's more to life than hunting, and dreams of setting off for an adventure beyond the stars.
Note: Like all Florans, Nuru should hiss with any "S" sounds (Indicated by a "Sss")

Hiraki Corale is a Hylotl adventurer extraordinaire, famed for her bravery (or perhaps foolhardiness), tenacity, sunny can-do attitude, and her obliviousness as to just how much trouble she causes. She travels the universe to learn about other races and cultures, and the field notes she's written on her adventures have spread far and wide. (Starbound Wiki)
