Project Overview
The Rise of Skywalker is probably the most controversial Star Wars movie that has been created. Many love it, many hate it, and between it all, many wonder, "What if..?"
Duel of the Fates is an Audio Adaption of the original script/storyline, which helps tie up loose ends and adds character depth not present in TROS. This project is NOT meant to take away the enjoyment that people get from Episode IX. This is not meant to try and de-canonize Episode IX. This is a fun fan project, created solely for the purpose of "what-if..?" We love telling Audio Dramas, and this is a fun way to bridge these two communities in hopes of creating something fun and exciting.
We are making this for anyone. We will be making adjustments to dialogue, interactions and such as needed for an Audio Drama format. We are really excited to be collaborating on the edit for this with many personalities in the SW community, and we hope everyone enjoys it.
Audition deadlines are March 23rd, 2020, 11:59 PM PST
Rules for auditioning:
- You must have Discord
- You must have a Snowball or better Microphone
- Earphones are not accepted, unless they are Sony or Senheisser.
- Please be ready to join the discord group if you are cast
- Be respectful. The ST alone is a touchy subject for some, and people are very passionate about it. With that being said, we are VERY aware that many different sides of the fanbase will be auditioning. We ask that there be ZERO bullying, harassment or otherwise. Discussion is okay, but the chats will be heavily moderated. It is okay to like or not like something. Just do NOT take away the enjoyment, or lack therof that someone else has for it. It doesn't matter what you like or not in Star Wars. If you are not respectful and kind, you will be banned from the project and all future projects.

Rey was a Force-sensitive human female who, after years of living as a scavenger, became a Jedi during the war between the First Order and the Resistance. In order to survive on Jakku where she was left by her parents as a small child, Rey became a scavenger in the employ of Unkar Plutt, trawling through the junk fields of the Starship Graveyard which was littered with the remains of starships and other military technology[7] from the Battle of Jakku. At first, she worked for other scavengers, bringing them the loot she found in crashed New Republic and Galactic Empire vessels that were downed during the battle. She heard local stories about what happened during the battle: that it was the last stand of the once-powerful Empire during the Galactic Civil War, that the Empire locked onto Republic ships during the fighting and dragged them down to the surface together, and more.

Ben Solo was a Force-sensitive human male Jedi who, after falling to the dark side of the Force, eventually renounced his adopted persona of Kylo Ren and was redeemed. The master of the Knights of Ren, he conquered much of the galaxy during his reign as Supreme Leader of the First Order. The Force was strong with Ren; in addition to his Jedi training and knowledge of arcane dark side lore, the bloodline of the most powerful Jedi and Sith flowed through his veins. He was the embodiment of conflict due to his immersion in both sides' teachings, but it was through discord that he derived power, channeling anger into strength. Ultimately Ren was determined to extinguish the light side within himself and destroy the last traces of the Jedi Order, fulfilling the legacy of his grandfather, the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

"Finn" was the nickname of FN-2187 ("Eight-Seven"), a human male stormtrooper who served the First Order until his desertion and subsequent defection to the Resistance during the First Order–Resistance war. Though trained since birth to be a loyal and obedient soldier, FN-2187's conscience conflicted with the methods of the First Order. For a time he was unwilling to support the Resistance, hoping to escape the galactic conflict instead of fighting for a cause he believed was doomed to fail. As the galaxy became consumed by war, the renegade trooper was ultimately forced to decide where his true loyalties lay.

Poe Dameron was a human male who originally served as a member of the Spice Runners of Kijimi, before becoming a pilot in the New Republic and eventually joining the Resistance, rising to become acting General of the Resistance, during its conflict and subsequent war with the First Order. The son of Lieutenant Shara Bey and Sergeant Kes Dameron of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Dameron followed in his late mother's footsteps in becoming a pilot, serving the New Republic Defense Fleet as the commander of Rapier Squadron, but grew disillusioned with the Republic's inaction to the First Order's violations of the Galactic Concordance. Dameron defected to the Resistance, where he became one of General Leia Organa's most trusted operatives. Dameron flew under the callsign of Black Leader while piloting his specialized T-70 X-wing starfighter, Black One.

Rose Tico was a female human who served in the Resistance as a maintenance worker during their conflict with the First Order, whom Tico had hated since she was a child. Tico's older sister, Paige, was a gunner in the Resistance. Rose Tico, her older sister Paige[1] and her parents Hue and Thanya[9] grew up on Hays Minor, a impoverished mining colony in the Otomok system.[1] Rose and her sister trained in their grandmother Etta's Z-95 Headhunter simulation. During one of their simulations, Rose crashed. She and her family would watch holodramas, some of which included fathiers.[9]

Through her adoptive parents, Senator Bail Organa and Queen Breha, she gained the title of princess of Alderaan. The Knight of Zero
Born on the planet Arkanis around the time of the Battle of Yavin, Hux was the illegitmate son of Commandant Brendol Hux, who fathered Armitage by a kitchen woman. In the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War, Hux was sent into the Unknown Regions where the First Order rose seeking to reclaim the glory of the Galactic Empire. A ruthless officer by the time of the cold war, Hux engineered the death of his father, oversaw the training and indoctrination of a new generation of stormtroopers, and ordered the firing of Starkiller's superweapon to destroy the New Republic capital of Hosnian Prime. During the war that ensued with the Resistance, Hux served as commanding officer of the Mega-class Star Dreadnought Supremacy until its destruction shortly before the Battle of Crait.
In the alternate script, Hux becomes Chancellor of the First Order's Empire.

One of the big differences in Trevorrow’s script: while Emperor Palpatine dpes not return from the dead, Kylo Ren does seek out and train under Palpatine’s old Sith Master, a 7,000-year-old, “very Lovecraftian” alien named Tor Valum. Basically, he sounds like Sith Yoda. What might that have looked like?
Although some believe this character may contradict with Plagueis, some original ideas may be re-written from this script to adjust for continuity, but the script addresses this concern as well.
