SoulShift Animated YouTube Series (ANIMATORS NEEDED)
Project Overview
I'm now looking for 2 animators (for now) to help me with Season 1 of my new animation series, SoulShift. The "per finished hour" in the payment section means the amount listed is how much I'll pay you after we finish each episode. Ex: We finish episode 2 and I'll pay you $100/$120 for it depending on the position. We'll work on 11 out of the 12 episodes in the season together because I'm doing Episode 1 by myself right now. In the role descriptions, I'll list the requirements and what you should expect to do if I hire you. Since this casting call is gonna be up for a while, please be active on CCC just in case I pick you. The style of animation is I guess 2D animation that seems 3D (I'm bad at explaining that particular part). It's actually not that hard to be honest, because I had next to no knowledge or skills in animation, and I got the hang of this style pretty quickly. One of the most important things to know is I used VRoid Studio to animate the characters, so I recommend trying out the program if you don't already have it and play with it a bit; it's actually pretty cool.

As for the animator audition, I'm not expecting much except explain your interest in being one of the animators, and some examples of animation you've done if you have in the past. I had no animation experience before I started working on this show, so I'm not too picky here. A quality I'm looking for a lot is that you're a quick learner.
SoulShift has been in development since 2019, with production actually starting in January this year.
Below is the original description for the first SoulShift project:
SoulShift is an animated action/drama based in Sinpride, a massive floating city-state. The series focuses on Kyo Kitsuno, a sixteen-year-old high schooler who's lost interest in everything. He's pessimistic and rude to almost everyone and isn't interested in his future in the slightest. His mother is a depressed alcoholic after his father died on the job. Kyo's life changes when he discovers his power: Soul Shift. With this power, he is able to create a person or a Soul with just his mind. What led him to discover this power was when he accidentally created Mikou Akime, his vision of the perfect girlfriend. SoulShift isn't the only Shift power out there, as Kyo and Mikou meet various individuals with different abilities, such as Endus Yumi, Risuki Hisukawa, Nakaraya Sudama, Titania Scarlet, and Syca Jewel.
In addition to voice actors, there are other roles available. This will be a long ongoing project, so I hope you have a lot of patience. More roles and information will come out when I can post, meaning the deadline you see here will keep being extended, so don't worry, you have time. I'm taking a big risk with this project since it may or may not even get that many views, but the important thing is that I tried. If you're willing to take the risk and put in your all, this project is for you.
You MUST have Discord, so you can join the production server I'm going to start. If I decide to pick you, I'll send you my Discord so we can add each other. The server's main purpose is to establish chemistry with everyone on the team, so voice acting sounds more natural and production has proper communication. If you're shy, now's your chance to break out of your shell.
SoulShift Lore
If you're a guy or gal who likes to do their homework, I respect that. Can't relate, but I still respect that. This lore section will be divided into sections so everything you need to know is nice and organized.
Sinpride
There are various sections within Sinpride. The first is Monet, the entertainment/financial district. Malls, shops, restaurants, movie theaters, supermarkets, hospitals, electronics stores, you name it, Monet's got it. The next is Indus Prima, the industrial district. Full of factories. New Fiona is the residential district in Sinpride. This is where 99% of the population resides. Tons of houses, apartment buildings, and mansions. The last section is Old Fiona, the previous residential district abandoned about a century before the events of the show. Old Fiona was evacuated due to unknown causes until a group of researchers recently attempted to see if it was inhabitable again. 19 out of 20 disappeared, including Kyo's dad.
Academies
There are many educational facilities located in Sinpride, but the show will only focus on a few. One of them is Catalyst Academy, an average high school that the protagonists attend. Its student body is the worst quality about it, but I'll show that in the show. Another academy in Sinpride is Titan Academy, one of the most prestigious schools in the state. The Scarlets own this school. A school year in Sinpride starts in January and is split into three semesters. It is also year-round. For grade levels, it goes like this:
- Pre-Ed: 3 years long, ages 6 to 8
- Elementary school: 1st to 4th grade, ages 9 to 12
- Middle school: 5th to 7th grade, ages 13 to 15
- High school: 8th to 10th grade, ages 16 to 18
- University: 4 years normally
Shift Powers and Demons
I don't wanna spoil too much here, so I'll only explain the basics. Shift powers are the abilities to shift reality in some way. A Shift wielder can change/create things like emotions, weapons, time, mass, etc. Where these powers came from is a secret, though (sry). In this world, there are four things that humans can't manipulate or tame: Love, Hate, Life, and Death. Creatures called Demons are attracted to these things. There are individuals who monitor these things, who we call The Four Administrators of Humanity. Demons are blind and are almost deaf, but their scent is above all their other senses. Demons were recognized but humanity centuries before the present in the show but disappeared, so humans now just see them as ancient news, and some even want to believe that they are still out there somewhere...
Continuity
- The present in the show is the year 1012.
- Kyo's father disappeared in 1009.
- Old Fiona was evacuated in 914.
- As far as advancements go, this world is the same technology-wise.

As a Character Animator, you'll mainly be helping with the animations of the VRoid models. Since there will be 4 of us on the animation team, being able to work well with others is a trait I'm looking for. As I said in the project description, SoulShift's animation style is kinda weird, so after I pick the team, I'll first go over how the show will be animated, how I personally do the little things, and how you can add your own little flair to certain things. Everyone has their own little style, I'm just looking for people who can emulate the show's animation so everything's consistent. Also, the pay per project means you get paid the listed amount after each episode's production's finished. So each animator will get paid their fixed amount after each episode is completely finished.
Here are the requirements in terms of equipment and skills:
- A decent computer that can run an editing software and VRoid Studio.
- A Discord account and you must be active.
- A decent editing program (I'm not too picky, just make sure it has ultra keying (green screen tool basically) and lighting effects). I personally use Adobe Premiere Pro.
- This one's optional. Photoshop.
- At least some knowledge of 2D animation or even stop motion.
- A microphone (just for voice calls)
- Paint3D
You don't even really need that much knowledge in animation, because personally, I had basically no knowledge of it. I've just been learning as I go, and I think I'm doing fine (I hope).
What you should expect:
- I'm planning on us having animator meetings or whatever weekly or bi-weekly (most likely weekly). These are so if multiple people are working on one scene, they can share each other's thoughts and even give feedback. These are especially necessary if there's a scene ALL of us are going to work on. I already have an idea what scenes those are going to be.
- I'm going to assign workloads by character. For example, say we're working on Scene 6 and I have two animators working on that one. Animator 1 would do the animations for Kyo and Endus, and Animator 2 would do the animations for Mikou and Risuki. This way, an animator can focus on making individual characters have more personality in their movements instead of having the stress of animating like 6 characters by themselves.
- After we finish each episode, I'll send you your pay for your work on that episode. I plan to use PayPal or Venmo, but can explore other options should it be needed.
- Have fun. I think this project is going to be the best if we have fun working with each other.

Say something you think would fit
As a Misc/Character Animator, you'll help with the animations of the VRoid models, but also will help me with animating the non-VRoid entities, such as the Demons, any character that isn't a human (like animals or non-human creature. Don't know if there will be many of those). Because this will be more difficult than the Character Animator positions, the pay is slightly higher per episode. I'm still kinda figuring out the Demon animation, so we may be figuring out the animation together after the deadline and I pick people. Since there will be 4 of us on the animation team, being able to work well with others is a trait I'm looking for. As I said in the project description, SoulShift's animation style is kinda weird, so after I pick the team, I'll first go over how the show will be animated, how I personally do the little things, and how you can add your own little flair to certain things. - For this specific position, it works the same way, except I'll assign you to a specific Demon to animate. I'll be helping with the Demon animation as well.

- I'll show a concept art of the most used Demon in Season 1, an Okami. I want you to know I'm not a good artist, and this concept art has the potential to improve in the future.
