Project Overview
Soulcarims is a 2D animated drama inspired by early 2000s animated shows, with memorable unique characters and set in an intriguing world. We’ve entwined the story and characters in a unique and satisfactory way.
I am looking for voice actors!
No age restriction. Payment is currently unavailable as this is self-funded. This is a non-union project. It’s a remote position, so you’re expected to provide your own equipment for the role. This is not a permanent role, and might be recast at any time.

Xel plays a minor role in season one of Soulcarims, and has a mini-episode dedicated to him. (He might become a more important character in later seasons.)
VOICE NOTES: Xel speaks quietly, yet sternly. He almost never has emotion in his voice, except when emotionally overwhelmed. Though he can talk for large amounts of time, he typically speaks as little as possible. (we’re open to interpretations that differ from this!)

[worried, sad, crying] “. . . I don’t know what to do, Mom. . . I haven’t known what to do for. . . five years now. Ever since- . . .I’m sorry. It- It’s all my fault. I. . . I just wish I could hear your voice. S- sorry. You never liked to see me cry. I have to go now. School, I guess. See you tonight.”
[serious, almost angry] “Do not fraternize with me, Ettiera. [ED-EE-AIR-A] If we fraternize, we might become friends, and if we become friends, I will be biased and hesitant to paralyze you.”
Rouge is a prominent role in season one of Soulcarims, though only holding one minor plot point. (He might become more of a main character in later seasons.)
VOICE NOTES: Always has joy in his voice, lines sometimes spoken on the verge of laughter. His voice is high and spoken in a happy, care-free way, often quickly. Think N from Murder Drones. (We’re open to interpretations that differ from this!)

[confused, then frustrated for “hey”] “You seriously don’t believe her? I’d be surprised if there was anyone she HADN’T dated! First it was Nathan, then Mic, then Eoz. . . heck, even- HEY!”
[laughing, happy] “Whoops! THAT could’ve been embarrassing. Let’s go, Mierdan [MEER-DIN] !”
Mierdan is the lead male role in season one of Soulcarims. (He might become more of a minor character in later seasons.)
VOICE NOTES: Mierdan has a very thick Brittish accent, his voice is deep, and he speaks slowly. Think Bad Cop from The Lego Movie, but less aggressive. (We’re open to interpretations that differ from this!)

[softly and lovingly at first, then smug at the end] “Yes, you are. You’re the best in our school. NO ONE is better at Substance Manipulation than you. Except for me, that is. No one is better than me.”
[sad, choked up] “Thanks, Onin. [OHNIN] This wasn’t the first time. I lost my mum, too.”
Nawe is the main villain of season one, though he only appears in three episodes. After season one, he does not appear at all, aside from cameos or flashbacks.
VOICE NOTES: Nawe has a deep, villain-y voice. He sounds old and he’s constantly shouting. He sounds like Garmadon from the Ninjago Movie (We’re open to interpretations that differ from this!)

[very angry, partly through clenched teeth] “So it is decided. Ettiera Mye [ED-EE-AIR-A MY] will not be banished and will instead be constantly surveyed by hired officials. I believe those officials should be from our royal guard and consist of no less than five persons.”
[very soft whisper, furious] “Understand, Ettiera, [ED-EE-AIR-A] The moment I can, I’m exiling you.”
[unhappy] “It appears we have agreed. You shall be hired to accompany Ettiera [ED-EE-AIR-A] wherever she goes, always staying within ten feet. This is effective immediately and permanently, unless otherwise instructed by me. Ettiera, [ED-EE-AIR-A] your new abilities must not be used at all. The only ability you may use is your natural one, that of a creator. Using any other ability is now a crime, which your companion will report, and which will result in a second Meeting of The Court. You will not take ability training for your new abilities. This ruling is final. The Court is now dismissed.”
Ettiera is the lead role in season one of Soulcarims. (She might become more of a minor character in later seasons.)
VOICE NOTES: Ettiera’s voice is a bit higher than most girls’, yet confident and kind. She sometimes stutters when speaking. Think Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony. (We’re open to interpretations that differ from this!)

[almost screaming, tears in voice] “What about your family? Your spot on the council? You’re risking EVERYTHING!”
Beulah has a minor role in season one of Soulcarims. (She is more of a main character in later seasons.)
VOICE NOTES: Beulah has a high voice, and she speaks like a mother would speak to her children, softly and slowly, with love in her voice. Think Ragatha from The Amazing Digital Circus, but less aggressive. (We’re open to interpretations that differ from this!)

[short of breath, breathing heavily between words, scared] “ETTI (ET-TEA)! Oh my goodness, Etti. One Sec. (breathing heavily) Okay. I got here as fast as I could. What happened? Tell me EVERYTHING.”
Isla has a major role in season one of Soulcarims. (She might become more of a minor character in later seasons.)
VOICE NOTES: Isla’s voice is deep and strong. It’s bold, with a very slight accent that cannot be placed (Any accent will work). Think Alya from Miraculous. (We’re open to interpretations that differ from this!)

[playful] “Why would I be mad, Tia [TEA-UH]? My boyfriend is your ex. So what? It just means he has great taste.”
