Project Overview

NOTE: Auditions will take a while for me to go through, I've been very busy lately.


What is Sonic and the Equestria Girls?

Sonic and the Equestria Girls is an 3D stylized action adventure crossover between Sonic the Hedgehog and My Little Pony Equestria Girls, bringing together the unusual and the surprisingly fitting personalities, worlds, and styles of both series.

The project draws inspiration from a wide range of anime, manga, games, and other forms of media, including Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Trigun, Guilty Gear, Mob Psycho 100, RWBY, and many others. Fight scenes are an important part of the project, with a particular emphasis on the larger-than-life spectacle and escalation found in series such as Dragon Ball and RWBY. At the core of the project, it's a character-focused ensemble story built around action, comedy, drama, and an overarching narrative that develops across the series. The cast is as important as the fights, with friendships, rivalries, personal conflicts, comedy, and dramatic character arcs developing alongside the larger story.


This is intended to be a long term project with continuous payment if the pilot and subsequent production meet the quality I'm looking for.

Recording and Communication:

The project uses live group voice acting sessions.

Actors are expected to join a Discord voice call and perform their scenes together with the other actors whenever the scene calls for multiple characters. Chemistry between the characters is extremely important to the project, so being comfortable performing alongside other actors in real time is a requirement. Scheduling will be discussed with the cast beforehand.


Pre-recorded lines will not be accepted as a substitute for the live session.


Casting and Production Requirements:

  • 18+ TO APPLY

  • Clean, close mic recordings, dry with no background audio.

  • While the larger story is being developed, please understand that casting does not involve changing a character's established personality, rewriting their characterization, or altering major story elements to accommodate an actor's personal interpretation. You are absolutely encouraged to bring your own performance and personality to a role but the story is ultimately written with a specific vision in mind, not an open-ended roleplay project where the cast decides how the characters behave or where the story goes. Creative suggestions are absolutely welcome but the final say goes to the director.

  • Actors should be comfortable with emotionally intense performances, including crying, yelling, anger, fear or any other dramatic vocal performances where appropriate.

  • Characters like Sunset Shimmer and Sonic will require a particularly strong vocal range, LOTS of screaming throughout the project.

  • Paypal is required for payment.

  • Discord is required for project communication.

  • Some quick news!

    Hello everyone!!!!

    I just wanted to make a quick post just to make sure everyone knew that the project wasn't inactive! I've been busy with a lot of life so I haven't been able to listen to the submissions yet and likely won't be able to for just a little bit longer (likely around Friday-Sunday this week), I have a funeral to attend and other some personal business but once that's over with I'll pick out who voices who.

    As a side-note, even if you don't personally get the role for one of the characters as-is, if I really like your voice, you'll probably still end up getting recruited into the project at one point or another if the project picks up steam. A lot of the larger story, while still unclear, will contain characters like fan favorites from Sonic like Shadow and Silver, and iconic characters like The Dazzlings from EQG as core party members that just aren't introduced yet so keep that in mind for the future.

    Additionally if the project continues into a longer term production, the current pay rate will remain the same per episode, with an additional $15 for every additional 5 minutes of recording time.

    For example:

    15 minutes - $75

    20 minutes - $90

    25 minutes - $105

    30 minutes - $120

    I'm open to negotiation, and there'll definitely be some price variation depending on the length of content (if I choose to do short 1-2 minute content in the future) but that's pretty much the baseline.

ROLE: Main Protagonist


Canterlot High's mysterious new arrival that showed up out of nowhere without even bothering to enroll, Sonic is an aloof and cool-headed student with a bit of a rebellious attitude and a large group of friends. He's always running and hard to keep track of, always having this strange habit of avoiding questions with a smirk and gives off the impression that's he hiding something.


I'd prefer a Jason Griffith inspired voice for Sonic in this series, but you can try moving in your own direction with it. One of the attempts I liked fused him a bit with Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho

The assertive, emotionally perceptive and headstrong former villain with a tendency to get a little frustrated when things aren't going her way turned around by friendship (̶m̶a̶g̶i̶c̶a̶l̶ ̶u̶n̶i̶c̶o̶r̶n̶ ̶l̶a̶s̶e̶r̶ ̶b̶e̶a̶m̶), Sunset Shimmer is the leader of the Equestria Girls, Canterlot High's magical girl group that defends the school from any and all magical threats. Initially tasked with keeping an eye on the very odd new arrivals, she becomes increasingly more obsessed with uncovering who or what exactly they are. 

  • You've got quite the interesting vibe there new kid, especially the act where you keep disappearing every time I ask a question. What's up with that?
