Project Overview

Good day all, we are looking for two voice actors for our animated teaser: Smoke in Burrows

About the project:

Smoke in Burrows is a pitch we are creating with a small team of 5 students. The animation teaser will be around 1,5 minute long.

It's a story about crime and revenge in 1900s London. Our main character Archie discovers that his father's has been murdered. As he seeks for answers, he becomes increasingly entangled with the gang his father used to lead. The question being: Will he stick to his moral compass or get lost in the twisted world of crime?

We are currently looking for a sound designer (Ambience, FX/Foley, Sound mixing). We would love to see your portfolio or demo reel!

Now we are looking for a voice for Archie (early 20s, male) and Mallory (50s, female).

  • NEW POSITION: Sound Designer

    Good day everyone!

    First we'd like to thank everyone once again for taking the time to send us these amazing auditions! Both roles are closed now. I'll try to deliver feedback to your submissions in the next upcoming weeks, especially to those who requested it (though I won't be able to give very technical reviews, as I am not specialised in the field of sound).

    We are also here to announce that we have opened up a new position for a sound designer! Are you interested, or do you know someone who might be? Please feel free to send us your demo reel! The deadline for the project is January 24th, so we'll need you to be available for work this month.

We're looking for someone to do the sound design, the animation is about 1,5 minutes long. We have the voice actors and music already, it is mostly about the ambience, foley, and sound mixing. We'd love to hear a demo reel! No required software

The 19-year-old ferret Archie feels lost and incomplete ever since his father abandoned him, and he is always seeking acknowledgement from others. The only person who makes him feel truly seen is his best friend, Jacques.


Archie is smart and ambitious, always wanting to finish what he starts. This tendency becomes a threat when he goes so far as to join a gang to solve his father’s murder. He gets lost in his obsession for revenge, to the detriment of himself and others.


For reference: 

The character is similar to Michael Corleone from The Godfather. 

The voice is more like Robert Pattinson (Here's an interview)

This scene Archie is at the start of his journey. A few days ago he discovered his father was murdered, and now he is determined to join the gang to seek for answers. He is convinced this is the right path, and won't listen to Mallory trying to stop him. He is calm

The old sphynx-cat Mallory has known Archie since he was a baby and has had a soft spot for him ever since. She is a no-nonsense businesswoman, but also a true people person. 


When Archie returns to London, she tries to guide him away from danger, but her advice falls on deaf ears.


For Reference:

The character is similar to Professor McGonagall

The voice is more like Meryl Streep (Example of her role in Doubt, Example of her role in The Devil Wears Prada)


Ca. 5 lines

In this scene she barges through Archie's door, who's packing his stuff, about to leave to join his father's former gang. Mallory is angry, she cares for Archie and this is the last thing she wants him to do. Her anger is like that of a worried mother.
