Voice and character descriptionThe main character (duh.) of the music. He once found peace in his lovely.. um.. swamp? But those plans take a turn for the worse when a bunch of fairy tail creatures are forced on his swamp by Lord Farquaad. Now he had to go on a journey to get his swamp back, he must rescue a princess from a dragon protected tower, with the most unlikely companion.
For this character I would go with trying to match the actor who originally played him the Shrek movies. Or at least have his accent.
"*Sing Shrek's part in Big Bright Beautiful World*""(upset/ Trying to make a point.) No! I'm an ogre! You know, grab your touch and pitchforks! Doesn't that scare you?
"**Since you need to roar but I also need another line here roar before doing the line, but wait a bit before saying the line****
(Sort of shrugging it off.) Oh come on, Dragon tower, how hard can it be?"
She is the main woman in this play. And she is a literal BA (if you know what I mean) at least for a princess. She ends up falling for Shrek in the end. She really does live by the book, that is fairy tail book in the prospect of how a princess should live.
She gets pretty high up there in range so be prepared to hit those notes ^-^
*Sing Morning Person*"
"(Being very princess-like, and sort of dreamily. ) Now holdest on, sir Knight. Don't you wish to savor this moment? It be-th or first meeting. It must be wonderful and romantic scene."
"(Sort of distant.) Well... Yes actually. (Realizing.) Oh no. I'm suppose to be rescued by my true love! (Upset) Not some ogre and his PET..."
Sort of the 'side kick' of the story here. He never shuts up so you are going to have a lot of lines. I don't really know what else to say about him, the talking pretty much sums it up.
You should have a somewhat medium range
"*Sing Travel Song*"
"(Energetic, Amazed.) Can I just say? That was INCREDIBLE. Man, they we're trippin' over themselves to get away from you. I LIKE that."(Just sort of conversational, but still hold his energy) I don't get it Shrek. Why didn't you just make Farquaad you your swamp back? Pull some of that ogre stuff on him? You know, throttle him, lay siege to his fortress? The whole ogre trip."
The 'evil guy' of this story. Know for being very short. After dumping the fairy tail creatures on Shrek's swamp, he basically waits for Shrek to bring back his 'wife'.
You should sound very mature sounding for this character, and almost proper too. Closer to the lower range. You should try to make this character really your own.
"*Sing The Ballad Of Farquaad*""(Mocking) Run Run Run as fast as you can, you'll never catch me (Yelling almost) I'm the gingerbread man!"
"(Slightly terrified, but trying to get the upper hand once more) Maybe. (Slightly braver) Does the name strike fear into your heart?"
She doesn't really have any speaking lines, but she has one song all to herself, and then a big part in the final.
In the actual show it is played by three people, but for this it will be only one person. And her songs should be very beltish
