よろしく九九組 ENGLISH CHORUS! (Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight)
Project Overview
hey, it's me, coton! thanks for clicking!
as a fan of revue starlight since its announcement, i've been more than ecstatic to cover one of their songs with a few other people—and lo and behold, with the release of the ed single, i've been given the pleasure of organizing a cover for their introductory song, yoroshiku kukugumi! for this project, i will be looking for eight other strong vocals to accompany me (self-casted as mahiru) on this fun little journey! while i've garnered a bit of interest on discord, i wanted to see if anyone else would be interested! depending on how the auditions go, i may or may not extend the deadline, but other than that... have fun! go crazy!
that being said, feel free to message me on my discord, coton#9000, to send your audition! i'm open to providing feedback if you so wish.
RULES
as this would potentially be the first cover for the series, i'd like to see something great, so i'll be setting some ground rules:
- please audition with a proper mic, or i likely won't be casting you. if you don't have one, pulling off some editing magic is certainly a possibility, but good audio quality is a must!
- life is tough, so i'm more than understanding when it comes to real life affairs getting in the way of recording, but if casted, please be willing to step down if you already know you won't be able to get your lines in.
- if i find you better fit for another girl, i may cast you for them instead. of course, you're free to decline, but try to keep your options open!
- not really a rule BUT!!! vocalists with technical expertise (mixing, animating, etc) will be placed at higher priority.

Range: Mezzo-soprano
Karen’s voice is cutesy, bouncy, and nasal—but that doesn’t mean she isn’t able to support her role as the main character! She sings with a fairly sharp affect, opting for the occasional upwards pitch instead rather than vibrato for longer notes. On the other hand, her lower notes carry quite a bit of power, showing an unexpectedly mature (though not drastic) side to her childish demeanor. Overall, I’m looking for someone with a girly, powerful voice!
REQUIRED: Sing any song in Japanese or English!
OPTIONAL: Sing the first chorus of Yoroshiku Kukugumi in ACAPELLA
" sutaaraito kuku gumi
ashita mo kuku gumi
youkoso purebyuu
mou sugu rebyuu
sutaaraito kuku gumi
ame no chi kuku gumi
douka omishiri oki wo "
Range: Mezzo-soprano (with the ability to dip a bit lower)
Hikari’s voice is strong and smooth, with a wondrous affect attached as an accompaniment. For all of you Love Live fans out there, think Umi Sonoda, as the two characters share seiyuu! In juxtaposition to Umi’s voice, however, there are times when her singing has a bit of a dramatic flair—while still staying in the safe zone. Overall, I’m looking for a soulful, strong voice!

Range: Alto
Junna’s voice is among the lowest of the nine, marked with practiced skill and an orotund flavor. Going hand-in-hand with her status as the class representative, she focuses much more on clean technique rather than dynamic or expressiveness; her strong tone is defined by a clear-cut modulation. Overall, I’m looking for someone with a strong, clear voice that’s able to follow through on notes!

Range: Mezzo-soprano
Nana’s voice is youthful and peppy, while also refraining from being too showy. While her tone shows an innate (arguably restrained, in my opinion) strength, she never overpowers the other singers, choosing to complement with smooth notes rather than dominating the stage. Overall, I’m looking for someone with a lively, clear, and controlled voice!
REQUIRED: Sing any song in Japanese or English!

Range: Mezzo-soprano
Claudine’s voice is confident, dynamic, and slightly nasal; her “bounce” is more of a series of sharp, agile cuts, able to steal the spotlight with attitude alone. Being a child prodigy, she’s incredibly competitive and always sure to present her talent on full display with every line, so don’t be shy! Overall, I’m looking for someone with a sharp, confident voice!

Maya’s voice, while mature and disciplined, is fairly nasal. Being the daughter of two seasoned performers, there’s a bit of a classic, retro feel to it, and she’s always showing off her skill with a natural vibrato. Unlike Claudine, who doesn’t hesitate to steal the limelight via her expressive dynamic, Maya keeps the extent of her vocal capabilities subdued until the climax—marking her place as the top diva with an extraordinary belt! Overall, I’m looking for someone with a classic, operatic voice, as well as having a good control over their vibrato! Being comfortable with hamming it up is also a must!

Kaoruko directly contrasts Futaba’s voice as the highest of the nine, being singsong, feminine, and a touch nasal. Her smooth tone is complemented by a playful upwards lilt, reflective of her cute, yet devious personality. While she typically refrains from belting as compared to the rest of the cast, she compensates with an expressive bounce. Overall, I’m looking for a cutesy, playful voice!

Range: Alto
Futaba’s voice is the lowest of the nine, guttural and almost androgynous. Her solos and duet/trio lines almost always consist of a low belt and a touch of vibrato; during chorus lines, she typically goes for the low harmonies rather than the melody. Overall, I’m looking for a voice with both boyish charm and the ability to pull off a smooth belt!

Mahiru’s voice is similar to Nana’s in the sense that it seems to have plenty of untapped power and potential, but refrains from showing it—much like her role as the shrinking violet among the cast. It’s rich, youthful, and nasal (to the point where it’s a tad noticeable without being overwhelming); compared to the rest of the cast, Mahiru’s voice is also notably childish, but not at all cutesy or babyish. Overall, I’m looking for someone with a youthful, rich, and modulated voice!

There's a lot that goes to mixing, so it's highly possible that I'll cast more than one mixer depending on your strengths. Either post a mix with more than three voices, or email it to cotulear @ gmail.com!
