SHOOTING STARS DAYCARE: Pilot Episode
Project Overview
Welcome voice actors! This is the official casting call for the pilot of Shooting Stars Daycare!
Shooting Stars Daycare is an upcoming adult indie animated musical series by couple Planchartte and Blossomie about a rag-tag staff of daycare workers working in the small tourist town of Myre Falls who seem to never stop encountering all sorts of unusual, deranged and downright questionable scenarios!
At this point in time, we're looking to cast two out of our four long-term main characters, two recurring characters and some background voice actors. Anyone who auditions for these roles must be prepared for the possibility of being re-cast for the main series if the pilot is successful! If enough people are interested, we'd love to make a full season of our concept!
We also recommend that all actors who wish to audition must have some experience with singing! Since this show is planned to be a musical, many members of our cast will have songs, even if they don't in the pilot!
Other requirements include:
- Must be 18 or older to audition for this project, regardless if your role in underaged or not
- Recommended audio files include mp3, mp4 and wav
- Please do at minimum 3 takes per line
- Please do not have any major background noises or audio defects in your audition.
- All actors auditioning are required to have a discord account, as this will be the primary form of communication once you are selected
- Any questions can be sent on site or to our official twitter page for the time being: https://twitter.com/SStarsDaycare
- The deadline for this round of auditions is JUNE 8TH, 2024. Any auditions sent afterwords will not be considered.
With all of that information out of the way, happy auditioning!

The daycare’s daytime attendant. Sun is an incredibly energetic, optimistic, and fun-loving person. He loves his family more than anything, will do anything to hold them all together, and believes his family can do no wrong. He’s easily stressed out whenever things start to go wrong, and instead resorts to the “out of sight, out of mind” mentality to soothe himself every time things get out of hand, no matter how severe the issue may be.

(De-escalating a soon-to-be argument in a light-hearted but firm manner) That’s enough, you two. Besides, Moon and I have something very important to talk to you both about!
(Explaining/Praising) It’s why we’re pairing you up with Sasha. Not only does she have more experience when it comes to working in the daycare, but she’s also more familiar with the daily routines that come with this job. Not to mention she knows these kids really well, and has little to no issues when it comes to interacting with them!
(Hesitant/Optimistic) Hey Salem... uh... how's your shift going?
The daycare’s nighttime attendant. Moon is a calm, typically chill person who tends to be unforgiving of others whenever he is wronged by them or when they have wronged those he cares for. He likes doing reckless activities with those he’s close to, and tends to enjoy pranks and mayhem. He often struggles with knowing when to quit or admitting when he’s wrong, and can be distant, cruel, and/or stubborn with any who have wronged him in some manner. He won’t commonly forgive such people, but only gets this way with others when it’s been deserved.
Voice Claim: Marshall Lee from Adventure Time (2010-2018)

(Gentle shush at the beginning/Reassuring) It’s alright, take a deep breath, okay? We’re just happy our favourite girl was able to make it on time today.
(Laid back/Relaxed) Salem, you’re a good friend and all, but it’s not exactly a secret you struggle with watching the kids.
(Indifferent/Calm) Ten bucks she’s mad no matter the outcome.
A disgruntled aunt who often does pick up for her brother’s kids. Very serious and no-nonsense, and is often picky regarding the daycare’s services.
Voice claim: Ms. Grunion from Mr. Peabody and Sherman (2014)

(Stern) Aren’t you the one currently operating the daycare’s digital systems at this very moment? Get typing, Sun-boy.
(Serious) I require your reassurance that my niece will be well taken care of under the watchful eyes of the day staff.
(Skeptical/Threatening)If you’re so certain, then so be it. I shall return at four o’clock sharp, and I expect to hear that she had a wonderful day. You know what will happen if she doesn’t.
Mrs. Carmichael's niece. Initially shy and distant due to being one of the daycare's oldest kids. Grows more confident (and a little chaotic) later thanks to Salem. Highly recommended that are able to sing.
Voice Claim: Tulip Olsen from Infinity Train (2019-2021)

(Sad/Disappointed) No thanks. Auntie Dianne doesn't want me getting too dirty.
(In awe) Are you sure? It's really okay for someone my age to say words like that?
(Grateful) Hey. Thanks Salem. I wouldn't have been able to come out of my shell and co-lead this revolution without your advice!
A group of kids ranging from 4-10. Must have the ability to sing, as the actors cast for this role will act as an ensemble for a song in the pilot.

(Happy) Can you pass me the green crayon please?
(Excited chanting) We want song time! We want song time!
(Demanding chanting) We want bad words! We want bad words!
