Shine - A Sing Fan Series
Project Overview
Shine is an original story that takes place in the Sing universe. With a cast of old and new characters, a compelling story, and absolute hit covers, this series is sure to bring joy to any viewer.
Shine focuses on Johnny, his father, and the newly moved in, Valerie, the thirteen year old sister of Johnny. After a blowup with their mother in Redshore City, Valerie is sent to live with her father and brother. At first, she isn’t so sure about what to think of gang life. However, she soon learns that her father’s side may not be all that bad. Will Valerie and Johnny connect like they used to? Will Dad even remember her? Can Valerie finally learn to stop living in the past? Find out in Shine - A Sing Fan Series.
Auditions are due August 10, but if you fit a role perfectly, then you may be cast sooner. Valerie is based off of a variety of childhood experiences of the director. Because of this, Valerie is voiced by the director.

Marcus/Big Daddy is the father of Johnny and Valerie. He is known for his rough but loving personality. Please try your best to imitate Big Daddy’s voice from Sing.

(Protective) Your mum and I will be having a chat later.
(Laughing) Well boys, I guess you get to meet my little girl.
(Talking on the phone angrily) No…Diana…you threw our daughter out.

Early 50s, Manipulative, Toxic, American, Motherly Voice
Diana is the ex-wife of Big Daddy, and is the mother of Johnny and Valerie. She is known for her cold, manipulative, dismissive personality.
This is a supporting, recurring role. Singing is not required for this role.
(Accusingly) What did you say about me to your father?!
(Attention-seeking) Do you see what it’s like raising this little brat?!
(Yelling) YOU KNOW WHAT, GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! OUT OF MY LIFE!

Early 50s, Intelligent, Partner in Crime, Cockney, Male.
Stan is the best friend of Big Daddy. He has been friends with him since high school, and has helped him run the gang for many years. Stan is very good to Johnny and Valerie, acting like an uncle. Please try to imitate Stan’s voice from Sing.

(Jokingly) What’s with the headphones, Val? Are you trying to shut the world out?
(Furious) I always knew that woman was no good. That…that…dirty Diana.
(Invested) So, Val, tell me about that boyfriend of hers that made her mean.

Barry is a close friend of Big Daddy’s. While they aren’t as close as Stan and Big Daddy are, Barry is still very caring of the children. He doesn’t know what’s going on most of the time, but is just along for the ride. Please try to imitate Barry’s voice from Sing.

(Confused) Wait…what’s the plan again?
(Frazzled) Right…yeah…I’m awake. I got it.
(Jokingly) Well, Johnny, what’s with the girl? Oh right, that’s your sister.
Singer
Early 30s, Soft, Gentle, American, Motherly Voice
When Diana was young, before the divorce, she used to sing Johnny to sleep. I’m looking for a singer who can sing soothingly.
Young Diana is a minor role. She will only be used for flashbacks.

I’m looking for two animators who are committed and eager to provide appropriate animation for this series. All skill levels are welcome.
