Hello! Thank you for checking out this project!


We are an fandub project looking to create dubbing content related to The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles! Whether it’s official or fanmade content, Matcha Voice Recitals is on the case! Our main focus for the time being will be comic dubs and dubs of in-game dialogue.


Knowledge of the Ace Attorney series is encouraged— but not required— but knowledge of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles WILL be if you’re selected. Even if you don’t know anything about TGAAC, you can still audition if you ARE interested in the games! You can learn more about TGAAC on a later date if you wish.


This is a CASUAL project. There will be no “big project” unless there is plans for it in the future. Folks who are selected will be assigned a character and asked to provide that voice for our projects. Think of it this way: you don’t have to do one large project, but a bunch of smaller ones instead. So, don’t stress too much about being the big role.


I ask that everyone auditioning to be 16+, to absolutely ensure that no one tries to lie about their age. We will be connecting via Discord, which requires you to be 13+. If you’re found to be lying about your age, you will be kicked from the project.


**IMPORTANT**

Auditions are to be done in an AAABBBCCC format. I ask that you do each audition line 3 times in different ways to show your capabilities. This does not have to be all in one take! You are free to edit together your takes into the AAABBBCCC format. Please have a good quality mic and have little to no background noise.


References will be provided in each character description.


Now, I ask that you'll be okay with *ship content*. While shipping content won't be the main priority, of course, there are some that are going to be done. If you're okay with this, that'll be a bonus! The list of ships we will focus on are Asoryuu, Susahao, Homumiko, and Benbaro.


Please note that the majority of the characters in this game are from London, or are visiting it. Their accents will reflect this!

A cold-hearted, aloof man who intimidates everyone around him. Known as "The Reaper of the Old Bailey", Barok van Zieks is a prosecutor known for a "curse" who follows him into the courtroom. Anyone who is prosecuted by him will be met with a terrible fate... even if they're found not guilty for their crimes. Barok talks in a very over-the-top manner, and will often apologize for his over-the-top actions, as ridiculous as they may be.


IMPORTANT: Like many of the characters in TGAAC, Barok is racist, specifically towards Japanese people. I understand that this is very uncomfortable, and I will do my best to avoid making the person chosen say anything that will make them feel uncomfortable, but please keep this in mind when auditioning for this role. I am also aware that there exists a fan-translation of TGAAC that made Barok (among other characters) call Japanese people a racial slur. I will never make you say it, ever.

A very no-nonsense, hard-working inspector of Scotland Yard. Gregson takes pride in his work, and despises having the Yard being made a mockery of. He strongly despises Herlock Sholmes, but is kind to Iris, as she always pays him for being included in The Adventures of Herlock Sholmes. In fact, his mood completely changes around Iris-- showing a very warm and considerate side that is not seen often.


I'm looking for a gruff masculine voice that's not super deep, and a mild cockney accent. It's not much, but feel free to use the few voice lines he has ingame as reference!

Gina is an orphan who grew up in the east end of London, and learnt pickpocketing to survive the harsh streets, and has the street smarts to back it up. She has severe trust issues, to the point where she doesn't trust adults at all. Gina's pride as a pickpocket can land her into trouble, but her experience on the streets can often get her out of trouble as well... to an extent.


Gina can be quite crude and smug, I want this to reflect in her voice-- while still sounding like a teenage girl.


Gina has a very thick cockney accent-- translations of the first two audition lines are here if you can't quite make out what she's saying:

"You're a lawyer, ain't you? You could stand to carry a bit more copper in your pockets, Mr. Naruhodo!" (She always says his name as "Narra-'Oddo" or just '"Oddo")

"It was a right old waste of time! I got nothing to show for my troubles that night."

Susato's father, and a medical professor. A gentle and caring man who treasures those he holds dear. He's willing to use his authority and the vast knowledge he's acquired over his life to help protect those he loves. Yuujin is one who can be depended on for seemingly anything.


For his voice, I want it to capture his wise, gentle nature. Maybe on the deeper side, but he still needs to sound friendly.

I would like for Haori to have a soft and somewhat high-pitched voice, to show her good-hearted nature and love for Susato.
