RK Sympathy Mascot Open Audition
Project Overview
RK Sympathy is an orgnization dedicated to raising awareness of mental health through various forms of media. Our main method is through Sympathyloids, UTAUloids that each represent a different mental illness. Check us out at http://rksympathy.org.
We're holding open auditions for our mascot, Akihiro Hashimoto! You can view the flyer here. Please ignore the dates printed on the flyer, as we are extending them slightly for the purposes of this project.

Basic Requirements:
- High quality microphone
- Ability to record multiple voicebanks
- Willingness to learn pronunciation of differenc languages
- Multiple ways of communication (email, Skype, etc.)
FAQ
Q. My voice isn't really deep, is that okay?
A. We're looking for a "masculine" voice, but that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be really deep. IF you think your voice fits the traits listed in any way, it's acceptable.
Q. I want to apply, but I'm of a different gender than them! Is that alright?
A. RK Sympahty doesn't judge applications based on the applicant's gender. In fact, we have quite a few voicers who provide voices to Sympathyloids that don't share the same gender identity as them. If you wish to do the same, feel free to send the application in! We're completely okay with it!
Q. What do you mean by "high-quality" microphone? Does my [insert name here] microphone count?
A. As long as your microphone doesn't pick up white noise, and there's no background noise in your samples, you're good!
Q. What am I supposed to be sending in for the reclist samples?
A. The exact files should be listed on the application. If you need help figuring out how to record the files, you can find examples HERE.
Q. Do I need to know other languages or at least how to pronounce them for this?
A. Nope! It's not a requirement at all! If you don't know a language that you have to record in the future, we have people on our team willing to help you with pronunciation. You don't have to worry about a thing!

Hello, I am Hashimoto Akihiro! I teach computer engineering to college students.It's a bit difficult due to my Illness Anxiety Disorder, but I learned to persevere. Reaching that point proved to be a strenuous task. It’s hard to function normally while being plagued with thoughts of becoming severely ill. Not even test results proving otherwise could overcome my anxiety. I was finally able to overcome these thoughts with the support of others. Now, I work to provide the same support for those who find themselves in a situation similar to mine. I hope you'll join me in my mission to help those who suffer from mental illness.
