Retribution

INTRODUCTION

Hello, everyone! This casting call is for Season 1 of "Retribution". Retribution is a touching anime style drama-comedy revolving around three victims of a corrupt government. This series is full of shocking twists, heartbreaking plots and silly banter.

We're casting for a plenty of voices to be used throughout the season-there are all kinds of roles, big and small! If you're not cast for a main role, and your voice matches the tone of the show, we may ask you to provide lines for supporting roles in the production.

We're also looking for several artist and music-based roles. Scroll down to see the details! 

All roles are in the English language. Voice actors must be comfortable using the language for the entirety of their work on the project.

This is currently a volunteer-based project, but we hope that one day we will be able to turn into a project with a larger budget.

Once casted, we will also showcase all of our voice actors, artists and other creators on our website. The showcase includes voice actors biography, contact information and links to a demo reel. All cast members are also listed in the credits of each show. 

DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS

The deadline for auditions is December 5, 2020. We most likely will not extend this as the full Season 1 script is ready to release to voice actors and artists. We'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles as soon as they are chosen and send scripts for the first episode voice actors by February. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect to be lovingly welcomed by Rose, the main producer of the series as well as all of the other cast members. At this point, you'll be part of the Blackwood Studios family, where you'll get to interact with other talented creators from our project.

We communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with this application, you can still audition, however, we strongly, strongly recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors. We've used Discord with other projects and it has been of immense value. 

WHAT WE ASK OF VOICE ACTORS

• First of all, have fun -- we take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something truly phenomenal, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft. 
• Please submit clean recordings (no air conditioners in the background, no fans)
• Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three is the gold standard. We have a few voice actors that would rather give us more takes, and that's okay, too. It's alright to leave it up to us to pick from a few choices! However please at least remove the takes you don't want to be featured on the show. 
• Please submit your recordings as a downloadable to our company email address, which will be provided to you. If a file is too large to submit via email, we can transfer it through other programs. We will discuss what works best for you when you get started with us!
• We will occasionally ask for line re-dos, but we do this sparingly and only after great consideration - we realize your time is valuable, especially given the generosity of you volunteering and we won't ask for anything we can't work around in edits. 
• Lastly, since we are planning on multiple seasons of Retribution, we 'd like to cast people who will be able to stick with us for a while. We're incredibly proud of the story we've formed over the last couple of years and when starting a new project, we imagine we will frequently return to voice actors we've worked with in the past.
