Reaper's malfeasance is an emotional story following Talia Wauren and Jack Barlen, who make it their mission and career to not only protect the residents of Waterrock from the strange and anomalous occurrences plaguing the small town, but to also uncover the origins of their sudden appearance.
Hey, I'm Jake (Or blip_boop, if you prefer.) and I'm an aspiring indie writer in need of help to really bring my story to life! I love writing, and hope for nothing more than to find people just as passionate about storytelling as me! Although pretty small as of right now, this is largest project I have undertaken, and the first one I want to go public with. It's pretty daunting, but I know with your help, It's possible.
As I said, the project is pretty small in scope as of right now, and is currently a massive work in progress with only a few roles, but I hope to eventually grow this into a fully fledged series with the help of actors and artists. This project will be read and recorded like an audio drama, and released on YouTube for anyone to listen to.
Reaper's malfeasance will be less chapter based, and more episodic in nature, with different episodes presenting new challenges, characters, and lore. I have a general plan of how this story will go, but I only have a written version of the first episode which will serve sort of as a pilot episode to garner interest in the series.

I don't have the means to pay anything as of right now, but appropriate pay will be given to any past and future work on this project if it ever becomes successful to make money.

If you want to audition as a voice actor, please make sure to include minimal background noise, and make sure your recording quality is at least comprable to a Blue Yeti mic, as this is what I will be using to record the narration for the story!

Your art would help to bring a definite visual representation to my characters and my world aside from the written descriptions provided in the story. As of now, I need cover art which would be used as a YouTube thumbnail, some art of key characters, and maybe even some key scenes in the plot to be overlayed along with the audio.

Jack is a moody, disinterested, and tired person who although would rather not deal with anyone, is not afraid to speak his mind and confront what upsets him, often in a rude and antagonistic manner. Most people that know him either have no opinion on him, or would rather avoid him due to his standoffish attitude towards anyone he meets.
Although he seems like a pretty terrible person to be around, anyone who is able to get to know him would learn that he is a passionate, caring and hardworking man who puts up a tough act to protect himself from the world due to his past. It's hard to share much more about him, as I don't want to spoil that just yet!
Any American accent should work for Jack, so feel free to experiment and give me a voice you think would fit!
(Frustrated, fed up, and sarcastic.) Seriously? It’s one of the simplest forms of thermo-utilization. You did attend elementary school, right?
(Confrontational, angry and loud.) Asshole?! You’re the one that’s threatening me with a God damn metal stick!
(Casual and inquisitive.) Thanks... I guess. So what is actually going on? What is this place?
Talia is private detective investigating the strange occurrences in Waterock. She is an outgoing, strongminded, no-nonsense and work-centered woman. Many people respect her for her dedication, strong personality, and hardworking attitude, but her difficulty to control her emotions and her near refusal to stop working and take a break means she struggles to make any real connections past working relations with people.
Talia is a struggling worker, finding it difficult to pay the bills and feeling worthless in her field and her work, resulting in her overworking herself. With such a heavy emphasis on her career, Talia forgets to care for her living space, her connections, and most importantly herself, as she runs almost exclusively off of coffee in an embarrassingly messy apartment.
I don't really have any voice in mind for Talia just yet, so give me anything you think would fit!
(Angry and confused.) All of the weird shit happening! Lights in the forest! Unexplained events! Creatures and monsters! Disappearances!
(Calm and neutral.) Well, come on. We can talk more about what the hell the Festered Woods are inside

Julia is a tidy, warm and caring woman who wants nothing more than to watch the people she loves succeed. She's good friends with Talia and often times serves as a voice of reason, handing out advice to the main characters whenever they visit her diner. She is very extroverted and quick to accept people, and isn't afraid to talk sense into anyone.
Julia is only a side character, but she does play a recurring role in the story and will often serve as a catalyst for big moments of emotion and growth within the main characters.
She is an African American with a pronounced southern accent, and always makes an effort to sound friendly and warm, so try to represent that in your audition!
(Calm and understanding.) Not that I blame ya', you've been workin' real hard ever since everything started happening.
(Happy and exuberant.) Talia! Good to see ya', how are ya' doin'?
(Stern and serious.) I don't recognize ya'. You're not from 'round 'ere."
I need your help to perfect my script! Your job would simply be reading over what I've written and helping me to iron out the ugly parts, such as formatting/spelling errors, inconsistencies/plot holes, pacing issues, and really anything that could go wrong when it comes to storytelling.
