Psychically & Spiritually Inclined (Podcast Episode)
Project Overview
Hi!
I have been writing short episode scripts for a show idea called Psychically and Spiritually Inclined, and I wanted to make an episode into a podcast so that I can hear the character's voices! I won't be doing anything with this project, I will not be uploading it anywhere as of now, but I will share the final result with the actors. The reason I can not upload it is because the episodes are not finished yet. I just mostly want this made so I can hear it and get to know my characters in a different way! For more context on the tone of the show, it's very similar to It's Always Sunny in terms of humor. There are some swear words in the script, so make sure you are okay with that.
Why should you audition? The show is a comedy, so if you want practice in comedic acting, then this is for you! I will leave a recommendation on your page as well :) It is just one episode, so there is not much work to be done.
Plot Synopsis: A group of college kids (Mindy, Andrew, Charlotte, and Rudy) pretend to be ghost hunters and scam people by doing fake "cleansings" and charging them a whole lot of money. That is, until they find out one of their friends, Andrew, is actually psychic, and can see and communicate with spirits. They have some silly adventures and get into some weird situations.
Audition Requirements:
- Have decent mic quality! If there is a lot of background noise, I probably won't choose your audition :(
- Be 18+! These are college students, and so I would be more comfortable with college age actors.
- Good comedic timing is a must for this script!

Mindy is the most likely to scam you out of the entire group. She is in it for the money, and will do anything to make the most profit out of the situation. However, she is one of the only ones with a couple of braincells and common sense most of the time. In this episode, Andrew gets possessed by a spirit for the first time, and the gang is not so sure what to do. For her voice, I am looking for a medium pitch, but I am flexible to different voices! Put your own spin on it!
(excited, but she's being quiet so others don't hear her) This place has like a million secret rooms. It's a money making machine!
Okay, Andrew. Showtime! Tell the spirits to fuck him up.
(frustrated) Are you serious?! A ghost is literally in my friend! Like, look at him!
Andrew is someone who sort of gets dragged along for the ride in most situations. He is the first one to want to go home, and is overall more responsible and sensible than the rest of the group. Though, he is psychic, and so he is often caught in wild situations with the paranormal, much to his disdain. In this episode, Andrew gets possessed by a spirit for the first time, and the gang is not so sure what to do. (This means he is possessed for the majority of this episode lol) For his voice, I want any college age sounding voice. I don't have a preference, so try your best!
(Andrew is trying to reach out to the spirits in the house. He is keeping his voice low, almost whispering.) I just wanna talk! Are you cool? Like, would you consider yourself cool? C'mon, say something.
(He is currently possessed) How dare you speak to me that way, you insolent, disrespectful, coward!
Well, when ghosts have a vendetta in the living world, we do anything we can to right that wrong. That's just ghosts 101. Your friend was a perfect vessel to hop in and do just that.
Charlotte is absolutely chaotic. She has a devil may care attitude, and is way more reckless than Mindy or Andrew. She will do things for the hell of it. In this episode, Andrew gets possessed by a spirit for the first time, and the gang is not so sure what to do. For her voice, I think anything but a high pitch could work. I don't imagine her to have a super high pitched voice, but other than that, I'm flexible!
I think he might be possessed by an evil spirit, but this has never happened before, so he could just be having a really bad day.
(She's being dramatic) Release my friend or I will banish thee to Hell from whence you came!
(Nonchalant) While he does that, I'm gonna start with the gaslighting.
Rudy is the himbo of the group. He is not the brightest, and is just as chaotic as Charlotte. He is really just there to have fun. In this episode, Andrew gets possessed by a spirit for the first time, and the gang is not so sure what to do. No cartoony voices for him, despite his personality. I want to stick to more realistic voices, but he is definitely more comical than the rest.
I'm sick of the lost souls with sob stories. Like we get it Suzy, you were killed by your mom and now you want revenge on humanity until you find justice for your wrongful end. Don't we all?
(After being flung into a bookshelf) Oh God, the rustic bookshelves have turned their back on me!
The right answer is yes... but I'm gonna say nah.
Clark is the real estate agent in this episode. He is involved in this episode only, but he has a decent part in it. He is in LOVE with real estate. That's essentially his whole personality. In this episode, Andrew gets possessed by a spirit for the first time, and the gang is not so sure what to do. Any voices welcome, except I prefer them to sound in the age range upwards of 30's-40's.
(very cheesy) Remember, it's not house hunting, it's home hunting!
(sees possessed Andrew) Hello prospective homeowners, I'm sorry but the open house is now cl-whaaat the fuck is that?
(he is refusing to get rid of a couch) Uh-uh. I refuse. This couch is bound to my soul.
