Provision - Volunteer Voice Casting Call
Project: Provision, an indie logistics / factory management game
Roles: 4 voice roles for narrated tutorial characters
Compensation: unpaid volunteer collaboration, attribution / credit provided
A short demo video is included on this page showing the current build of Provision and where the credits section will live in-game. Credit is part of the planned UI, not just a promise in the casting notes.
This is an unpaid volunteer project. Selected actors will receive in-game credit under their preferred name or handle. Recordings will be used in the game tutorial and may also be used in trailers, store pages, devlogs, and social posts promoting the game.
I'm casting four voice roles for the narrated tutorial of Provision, an indie game about running a food-processing plant through markets, exports, spoilage, regulations, and off-books temptation.
Important: I will not use submitted auditions or final recordings for AI voice cloning, synthetic voice training, model training, or voice replication.
Project Overview
Provision teaches the player through four tutorial voices, each representing a different pressure on the factory floor:
Sully teaches the fundamentals and gives the player their first sense of trust.
Mae Delaney takes over when the plant expands into shipping, exports, oysters, spoilage, and scaling up.
Ada Mercer explains proposals, grace periods, enforcement, certification, and trade consequences.
Felix Vane presents the illicit market as a tempting practical shortcut.
The tone is grounded, practical, lightly characterful, and human. This is not broad cartoon performance. The characters should sound like capable adults who have worked around food plants, shipping floors, paperwork, markets, and risk long enough to know what matters.
What I'm Looking For
Clean home-recorded audio with minimal background noise
Natural character performance
Clear diction
A grounded, believable read
Ability to take light direction if selected
Comfort with short tutorial narration lines
You do not need professional studio gear. A good clean home setup is fine.
Usage And Credit
This is unpaid / attribution-only. If cast, you grant permission for your recorded lines to be used in:
Provision's in-game tutorial
Game trailers and store pages
Devlogs, press clips, and social media posts promoting the game
You will be credited in the game under your preferred name or handle.
Your voice will not be used for AI cloning, AI voice generation, synthetic voice training, or model training.

WAV or high-quality MP3 is fine.
Please submit only the audition lines, not full speculative scripts.
Roles
Sully
Full name: Patrick "Sully" Sullivan
Role: veteran plant foreman, first mentor
Gender / age direction: male, 55-65
Sully is warm, practical, lightly wry, and patient without sounding slow. He has spent decades keeping food plants running while markets, rules, and machines all had other ideas. He should feel like the first person the player trusts.
Voice direction: native English, American. Warm gravelly baritone with a faint Irish-American lilt. Brisk, clear, conversational, grounded. Dry humor is welcome, but no sleepy pacing, theatrical pauses, sternness, or condescension.
Audition lines:
Name's Sully. Thirty years keeping food plants running while markets, rules, and machines all had other ideas.
I don't need you impressed. I need you to see what's in front of you and know what to do next.
Easy money always sounds easy before the knock comes. Up on your feet. We've still got a floor, and that means we've still got work.
Mae Delaney
Role: shipping-floor forewoman, line expansion specialist
Gender / age direction: female, 30-45
Mae takes over when the tutorial expands from getting a line running to making the business grow. She is quick, capable, upbeat, sharp-eyed about bottlenecks, and more ambitious than Sully without becoming bubbly or polished.
Voice direction: native English, American. Mid-range, lively, confident, lightly roughened by long hours on the floor. Faster tempo than Sully. Bright but not chirpy. Practical, alert, forward-looking.
Audition lines:
Mae Delaney. Sully showed you how to make a line run. I'll show you how to make it earn.
Home trade keeps the lights on. Export is where you find out whether the floor can really move.
Brine moves fast or it dies on you. Tins buy you time, but they cost you a whole different kind of planning.
Ada Mercer
Role: export compliance officer / market liaison
Gender / age direction: female, 35-50
Ada explains the rulebook, compliance timing, official trade consequences, and the costs of ignoring regulation. She is exact, calm, dry, and observant. She is not hostile to the player. Her competence should feel reassuring.
Voice direction: native English, American. Low to mid register, clean diction, steady pace. Clear, brisk, measured, and precise. Calm, intelligent, composed, lightly worn by long days of explaining rules to stubborn operators.
Audition lines:
I'm Ada Mercer. I deal in paperwork, timing, and consequences. Sully and Mae teach you how to move goods. I teach you what movement costs when the rules change.
A ban is not a surprise. First it is proposed, then it enters grace, then it is enforced. If you read early, you have options. If you read late, you have explanations.
Once enforcement begins, intent is irrelevant. The paperwork clears the crate, or it does not.
Felix Vane
Role: off-books broker / fence / discreet middleman
Gender / age direction: male, 35-50
Felix frames contraband as a practical temptation rather than a melodramatic moral collapse. He is smooth, patient, amused, and never loud. He treats risk like inventory and makes compromise sound tidy and ordinary.
Voice direction: native English, American. Medium-low register, polished but lived-in, with a faint smile in the delivery. Controlled, conversational, quietly persuasive. No snarling, no cartoon villain, no theatrical menace.
Audition lines:
Name's Felix Vane. I buy what official markets suddenly lose the stomach for. Waste bothers me. Opportunity less so.
One crate is nothing. A rounding error. No one loses sleep over one crate. That is how these things begin.
The first unit is a test. The second is a habit. After that, you're only arguing with arithmetic.
Selection Notes
I'm listening most for believability, clarity, and character restraint. These voices should guide the player through a working factory, not announce themselves as performances. A little texture is great. Too much melodrama will probably miss the tone.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for lending your voice to Provision.
