PROJECT SEKAI: A REVIVED JOURNEY!

A brand new Project SEKAI fandub with a unique twist! Project SEKAI: A Revived Journey is what we consider a "mixed-gender" fandub, and the first of its kind, too!

WHAT IS A MIXED-GENDER FANDUB?

It's actually very easy to understand.

Project SEKAI is well-known for having a total of four male characters, not counting the VIRTUAL SINGERs. This results in a very limited amount of audition room for male voice actors.

All this to say that a mixed-gender fandub, at least for Project SEKAI, means that exactly half of the cast of characters has been genderbent!

But why not just do a regular fandub where every character is genderbent? For one, we end up with the exact opposite issues, now with female characters being in low supply. Secondly, characters like Airi and Mizuki are highly implied to be transfem, so it's unreasonable to genderbend them because that would be akin to just detransitioning them.

So that's why we chose to do this type of format! If you're wondering which characters are genderbend, the list of auditionable characters details who is and isn't. It's a little convoluted, but it'll ultimately be very fulfilling when content begins to be posted. Speaking of which...

WHAT KIND OF CONTENT WILL WE PRODUCE?

We will be producing audio dramas of the entire main story + event stories, English covers of both commissioned and cover songs, short character skits, alt vocal covers, redesigns for both genderbent and non-genderbent characters, and possibly even some voice actor podcasts.

  • This project is managed by one person with the help of 5 admins!

  • We intend to be a long-term project! Though we are largely non-profit, we hope to use our passion for the Project SEKAI game and turn this into something truly special.

  • We plan to post on major social media sites such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and more.

  • The audition process features a callback period, which is why it is important that auditioners join the Discord server.
