Project Dozen: Hallway Scene
Project Overview
After crashing onto a harsh desert called Sandtrap, a ragtag squad of soldiers finds themselves stranded and struggling to survive. Amidst the chaos and danger, they encounter December — a mysterious and skilled operative with his own personal mission. With December’s help, the squad embarks on a risky quest for revenge, slowly uncovering darker secrets behind their assignments and the organization that sent them on these near-suicide missions.
This casting call is for a voice test of a short, action-packed scene set during a firefight in a narrow hallway. The scene focuses on the team’s dynamic under pressure, mixing fast-paced action, sarcastic banter, and emotional moments. From the awkward but determined leader to the hotheaded fighter and the rookie eager to prove themselves, this test will help explore the characters’ voices and relationships.
Keep in mind, this project is still in early development — the story, characters, and roles are not finalized. This is a passion project and an experimental stage to find the right voices for a larger story yet to come.

LEAD ROLE. Chip is the unprepared and unqualified leader of Delta Squad — a team no one wanted and everyone gave up on. He’s awkward, a little overwhelmed, and constantly trying to prove he deserves the rank someone probably gave him by mistake.
Despite his lack of confidence, Chip has heart, raw intuition, and enough guts to survive situations way over his head. He often tries to lighten the mood or boost morale, but when the pressure’s on, there’s something almost inspiring about him — in a pathetic-but-determined kind of way.
Chip is the glue holding Delta together, whether they admit it or not.

Perfection? Since when have you cared about perfection?
Uh, Swiss? Davis? How you doin’, what are doing, how are you doing what you’re doing—uh, status. Over?
With your skills, you’d wipe out whoever’s out there. If anything, you’re putting my men in danger for no reason!
ONLY HAS 2 LINES. Davis is a quiet, haunted man who’s been through too much. After surviving isolation and presumed death, he’s colder than he used to be and speaks with a quiet intensity. Possibly hiding deeper damage. Doesn't speak much. Like at all.

We’re fine
We're FINE!
Cal is the squad’s sarcastic, short-tempered brawler. He fights up close, ignores orders, and carries a broken energy sword hilt because he's not allowed to use firearms after multiple “friendly fire incidents.” Constantly yelling, constantly angry. Loud and cocky.

Yeah, whatever. On it.
Jesus fucking Christ! If no one gives a shit what I do, why try at all, right?!
HAH! I knew it! I’m a fucking genius!
Swiss is the wide-eyed newcomer who’s way too excited to be here. He’s hyper, respectful, and a little in over his head — but his heart’s in the right place. Talks fast when nervous, but tries hard to do the right thing. Probably thinks this is all way cooler than it actually is.

WE’RE GOING TO DIE!!
HOLY FUCK! Just hurry up with the fuckin’ door!
Oh thank god, I thought we were toast!
December is a former supersoldier rescued by Delta. Once noble, now colder and more dangerous. Speaks with precision and intensity — the kind of person who doesn’t waste words. Driven by revenge and guilt.

Oh...him. He’s got Davis. That’s all he needs. Besides, he needs to toughen up. A little combat’s good for him.
That’s great. Now open the door
IT DOESN’T — JUST LIKE YOUR STUPID RANT!
