Precinct Metropolis
Project Overview
Precinct Metropolis is an audio drama series focusing on Officer Mikayla Summers, a police officer working at Metropolis Precinct #5. While on medical leave after narrowly escaping a gas explosion, the overeager officer ends up encountering something otherworldly.
Unknown to the greater population of the city, people with superhuman abilities have existed there for decades, a fact kept under tight wraps by the city’s government. These individuals, known as XI’s (extraordinary individuals), are officially considered to be property, no better than objects.
After her encounter, Officer Summers is moved to join DXIA, the Department of XI Affairs, a department within the wider police organization. Continuing her work as an officer, she begins working only on anomalous cases.
She is joined by her partner, Officer Lloyd, a cowardly agent who joined DXIA under similar circumstances.
Together, the two investigate cases and bring in XIs-- But is what they’re doing truly right?

The main character of the show. A female police officer, between mid-twenties and late-thirties. White. General American accent.
She is insistent, and never takes no for an answer. She has a strong sense of justice, perhaps too strong, and she asks a lot of questions. Probably too many.

Even I can admit it wasn’t the smartest move, but I still don’t regret it. I got them out in time, and that’s what matters. That’s supposed to be our job, right? Protecting people who can’t protect themselves. Helping the helpless. Wolves, dogs, and sheep. That’s what it’s all about.
Oh. I, uh, I’m a police officer. Did you hear about the gas explosion on 12th street?
Kid. It’s okay. No one is going to hurt you. We’ll go back to the station, get in touch with your parents, you’ll have a fair trial-
Officer Summers' partner, agent of DXIA. Awkward, the comedic core of the show, but not entirely comic relief. Any gender, any race, mid 20s to late 30s. Feel free to try out with an accent if you can do one, though the character is not intended to be of any specific nationality.

Renford and you need to have a talk, Summers. Just grab the keys.
The police captain, commander of both Summers and Lloyd. More serious, but not incapable of having some comedy. Any gender, any race, older but no specific age. Feel free to audition with an accent if you think it fits!

You’re crazy, Summers.
There are certain cases that we don’t handle. This is one of those cases. They’re above us.
Summers? This is Officer Lloyd. I don’t think you’ve met. You may both be officers, but your jobs are very, very different.
Precinct Metropolis relies heavily on sound effects to make it seem like a television show without visuals. Please submit your demo reel if you have one.

Right. Let me get this straight. You’re on medical leave and you still chased a perp and took a statement?
Get out of here, Summers. You still have a month of vacation left.

Oh, thank god. They got my keys. You just missed them, they were just here-
Dusty (real name Beau Patton) is the forensics expert at DXIA. He's funny, nerdy, and a little nervous.
For this role, I am seeking an African American actor. The character is a man in his 30s, but the actor does not need to match these demographics.

Well, you’re in luck, because there’s something else, too. We have a lead.
Fresh from the lab. Take a look.
