Project Overview

Hello! And welcome to the Pico Region!

In all seriousness, thank you for clicking on this project! I've been a huge fan of pokemon and always wanted to just make something pokemon related!

This dub will be from an original comic i'm making called Pokemon: Sunveil. Its in a completely original region and characters while also staying true to the original pokemon manga and anime. I hope to make something truly special and fun that would also help promote an amazing Cobblemon server ^w^

I'm rambling a bit so here's the important stuff ^w^

  1. This is a Long Term project. Every role is crucial and will be in it for the long run. (With the exception of Extra characters. They'll be reoccurring). I understand personal stuff can and could happen throughout the project and i respect that. I just ask that you let me know a few weeks in anticipation so i can recast if needed.

  2. Discord is required. This is so that there's a more structured and organized place to communicate with the entire cast! So make sure to add your discord username with your submission.

  3. Deadlines. I'm not very strict when it comes to deadlines. While missing a deadline wont kick you from the project, multiple misses, late submissions or "ghosting" will most likely have you kicked from the project. I understand things can happen out of your control, so please let me know early on that you wont be able to submit in time and we can negotiate a new deadline. Communication is really important to me.

  4. Microphone quality. Just make sure the quality is nice and easy to understand. While i know not everyone has a studio or place to record, i do ask that you at least try to make it sound good and professional!

  5. Last but not least, just be a good person. Ill try my best to not ask for reshoots or just be respectful, i ask that you do the same!

  • Day 17! [UPD 2]

    Hello hello! I hope you're all doing great! Today would have marked 2 days before the deadline! I've been so grateful at having so many of you submit auditions, that its been actually difficult to even begin to find one that i love more than the rest! You're all amazing ^w^

    Due to a lot of reasons, i chose to extend the deadline just a few days more just to give more people chances to audition. I'm, however, hard at work with the project and have a bunch of fun voicing ready for the VAs that get chosen. Script was extended a bunch and now in the process of the visuals! I'm hoping to have all the visuals done before the VA get chosen.

    Again as always, thank you so much to those that have auditioned and good luck!

  • Day 5! [UPD 1 WOOO!]

    Hello! Hello!
    I've been dying to write an update because to be completely honest, its been a blast seeing all the submissions! I love everyone of them and am very honored to have a bunch of people interested in joining this endeavor! ^w^

    There's still a couple of weeks left before the deadline, but as a small update on the project as a whole, the script is 100 percent done. SO once the voice actors have been cast, voice acting can start immediately!

    This is a small but equally as important reminder that ill add to the general important stuff in the project description, is that for those of you who don't get cast, id still love for you all to stick with the project! Your voices would more than perfectly encapsulate future characters and extras ^w^

Jay is an aspiring Pokemon trainer from his small hometown. Due to his upbringing, hes very cocky and often times blunt. Almost like he's trying to prove something to someone.

[example] Think of Gary from the Pokemon Anime.

Later on throughout the comic he grows and matures into the kind of trainer he can look up to.


Relationships:

Claudia is a childhood friend of his. While others left for their pokemon journeys, Claudia stayed and studied under Professor Flamboyan. Naturally, they both grew to be close friends. Although this doesnt exactly stop them from bickering from time to time.

The prodigy niece of Professor Flamboyan, she was often times pampered. She's smart, methodical and kind when she needs to be. She's also very serious about keeping things organized and in order.


While her younger sister went out to become a famous idol, she stayed back in her hometown to follow in her uncle's footsteps. She was never any good at pokemon battles and she understood that. Even though she was bullied for being introverted and kept to herself, she never paid any mind to them.

Relationships:

Jay, while as annoying as he was to her, he was her only true friend. His teasing never went out of hand and they both often times relied on each other for most issues they had. She treasures their connection a lot, but often times wonders if she's the only one that feels this way.

He's the esteemed professor of the Pico Region. His countless years of research into bonds between pokemon and humans was greatly refrenced by professors across the globe. Being the distant descendant of Professor Sycamore, his current research involves Mega Evolution and its effect on the Pico Region.


While he is a great professor, hes already itching to retire. The reason why isnt known, but hes seen often times ditching his work to go ride his bike with his pals. This was subject to criticism since most professors continue their work till their late 70s, while he's already ready to retire at late 50s.


He views his niece, Claudia, as the future of the Pico Region. She was determined and very smart, the two qualities he never had at her age. As her mentor, he truly does want her to become that great professor shes meant to be.


Jay is a funny case. He sees Jay's lack of vision or dream weirdly nostalgic. When he was younger he also harbored those doubts. Only difference was that he found his passion. So now he wishes to help Jay find that dream that he needs.

He's Claudia's dad. He's an ex Pokemon daycare attendant and now just a farmer. He's big and kind. The best qualities of Claudia come from him.

She's Claudia's mom. While she never really did anything noble in the past, she is still a mayor part in Claudia's early life. She taught her everything she knows about studying and researching. She always helped Claudia indulge in multiple different research programs when she was young. 


She's a major reason Claudia is as disciplined as she is.
